In this essay I analyze the performative aspects relating to Marina Abramovi?'s The Artist Is Present, which took place in spring 2010 at MoMA in New York, from the context of the artist and work, institution and documentation. In this performance work, for the duration of the exhibition, Abramovi? sits completely still opposite another chair where anyone from the audience may sit. The art arises through this participation.

Trots att utveckling av kvalitetsarbetet ses som central och integrerad komponent i offentliga verksamheter saknas det en gemensam förståelse om vad kvalitet är och hur den kan mätas särskilt utifrån brukarperspektivet. Syftet med denna uppsats var att studera kvalitetsarbetet på kommunal nivå och studera hur upplevd kvalitet skapas och omskapas genom s.k. systematiska kvalitetsuppföljningar som ska genomföras enligt regeringsbeslut. Studien avsåg även att få en förståelse för hur kvalitetsupplevelser kan fångas i fastställda kvalitetsindikatorer för kvalitetsuppföljningar.Detta görs genom en fallstudie av systematiskt kvalitetsarbete inom äldreomsorgen i Uppsala kommun. Som underlag används huvudsakligen olika styrdokument för kvalitetsuppföljning, uppdragskontorets kvalitetsredovisning och kvalitativa rådata som samlats genom i systematiska enkätuppföljningar på individnivå utifrån lokala kvalitetsindikatorerna TITORB.

Sociala medier har blivit ett givet sätt att kommunicera genom och att vara en del av den sociala gemenskapen på Internet har sina fördelar. Men vad många inte tänker på är vad som händer med den information vi delar med oss av i olika sociala forum på Internet. Att det finns en kontroll över oss, subtil eller inte, är självklart. Vi övervakas dagligen och många gånger utan att vi ens vet om det.Google som sökmotor på Internet har under det senaste decenniet uppnått en enorm popularitet. Det vardagliga användandet av företagets söktjänst över hela världen har kommit att bli så stor att det har verbaliserats ? Idag söker vi inte information på Google, vi googlar.

The importance of student influence at the universities is something that is described in Swedish regulations as well as in local policies and documents for Karlstad University. At the same time there is no description for the interpretation of what student influence actually means. It is up to the university to decide what student influence should be at the university and how it should be represented in the organization and processes.The purpose with this essay is with a discursive perspective of analysis define how representatives of Karlstad University reflects how the student influence should be represented in the organization and if it is possible to connect it to the position as an actor of co-decision or of influenceThe analysis show that different levels of the university will describe the position of student influence differently, and that it plays different roles to keep up the quality of education at the university. It shows that it will be of more importance that student influence takes the role to influence the organization more than co-decide the nearer the student the process will come..

The object of the essay was to investigate the argumentation in the bill, the comments from unions and the authorities, among others and the motions concerning the bill. To analysis this argumentation I have been using feminist theory, specifically Carole Lee Bacchis ?What?s the problem?-aproach. I also used Maud Eduards and Diane Sainsbury to complete my theory. They describe men as the norm of the society and women as deviant.

Sverige är idag ett land med etnisk och kulturell mångfald. Numera ser vi en ökad segregering och marginalisering i samhället, som måste motverkas. Det blåser högerextrema vindar i politiken, och det invandringskritiska partiet Sverigedemokraterna, som sitter i Riksdagen, menar att andra partier misslyckats med integrationspolitiken och att massinvandringen bör stoppas. Regeringens diskurs om integrationspolitik är något som gör anspråk på att vara sant och verkligt för detta ämne. Den konstituerar vad som är möjligt för den invandrade på så sätt att den integrationspolitiska diskursen reglerar exempelvis att alla har rätt till arbete, vilket på ett sätt utgör diskursens maktförhållanden.

Denna studie avser undersöka två pedagogiska praktiker med utgångspunkt i bild - och konstundervisning. Genom att intervjua en bildlärare och en konstpedagog undersöks deras arbetsmetoder och förhållningssätt till konst och bilder. Metoden som används är en kvalitativ semistrukturerad intervju. Resultatet analyseras med hjälp av konstpedagogiska teorier formulerade av Anna Lena Lindberg, Carol Duncan, och Helene Illeris. Även ramfaktorteorin finns med i bakgrunden som teori.

The main purpose of this thesis is to examine whether the ISP (the Information Search Process) as defined by Carol Kuhlthau is applicable to Swedish University students. Qualitative interviews were carried out with students enrolled in their thesis course at the end of their university education. The selection is based on convenience sample of students visiting the university library. The questions are mainly about how to find out the experiences of the students when they look for documents at the beginning of their thesis work. Other relevant questions are about user-education, information literacy and what the students' opinions are concerning a thesis as a part of their education.

An idea analysis of the debate about försäkringsmedicinskt beslutsstöd (decision tool in healthcare security)This is a case study on different types of research use (utilization) The aim of this paper is to examine how the politicians make use of expertise and research in the parliamentary debate surrounding the decision tool in healthcare security (försäkringsmedicinskt beslutsstöd). The aim is also to find out to what extent different types of research use are present in this debate. In this case study the qualitative method of idea analysis is being used on the empirical material. The tool of analysis is based upon the theories of research use by Amara et al.

I slutet av 90-talet sköljde en våg med asiatisk skräckfilm in över västvärlden. Filmerna handlade om kvinnor som dött en våldsam eller orättvis död och nu var tillbaka för att hämnas.Takashi Miike är en av de mest kända japanska regissörerna som har bidragit till den japanska skräckfilmsgenren som fick så stor spridning i väst.Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka kvinnoroller som finns representerade i fyra utav Miikes skräckfilmer och hur de framställs.Uppsatsen utgår från klassisk feministisk filmteori och undersöker om Barbara Creeds ?the monstrous feminine? och Carol Clovers ?the final girl? finns representerade i Miikes filmer.Bland uppsatsens slutsatser går det att finna att ?the final girl? delvis finns representerad i Miikes filmer, dock inte i samma utsträckning som i amerikansk skräckfilm, samt att man kan stöta på en viss problematik när man applicerar Creeds och Clovers teorier på filmer som inte följer ett västerländskt berättande.  .

This Master?s thesis investigates user education at high school libraries. The aim of this study is to examine user education and the educational approach that librarian?s experience in their teaching. The method used for the study is qualitative interviews with seven high school librarians.

The object of this master's thesis is to study students writtenappendixes for their first-year-essay, (A-uppsats). In theappendixes the students are asked to describe their search forinformation within five areas; strategy, resources, terminology,analysis and usefulness. The appendixes for the years 2006-2009are studied, 184 appendixes consisting of one A4 page each.This thesis focuses upon the study of resources, processes andfeelings displayed in the appendixes. The theories of Tom Wilson,Carol Collier Kuhlthau and Louise Limberg are used, as results ofother studies within the area. Connections with theories oninformation literacy are also made.The results show that students usually do as they are instructed bylibrarians if it is profitable for their studies.

Denna uppsats syftar till att undersöka diskursiva uttryck av klass och ojämlikhet i svensk tidningsmedias rapportering och debatt om den så kallade överklassafarin som ägde rum under våren 2012. Som teoretisk och metodologisk utgångspunkt används kritisk diskursanalys, med det uttalade målet avslöja, avmystifiera och ifrågasätta social ojämlikhet. En ytterligare förutsättning var att betrakta varje representation av verkligheten som en rekontextualisering av densamma, där förgivettaganden, makt och ideologi spelar en viktig roll. Teun van Dijks sociokognitiva teori visade sig vidare vara särskilt användbar i förståelsen av tidningsartiklarna. Även Carol Bacchis poststrukturalistiskt influerade teori om problemrepresentation användes i analysen av de argument som identifierades i materialet.

Jane AustenHer dialogues and the time in which she lived This essay is about the dialogues in Jane Austen?s novels and what they say about the time she lived in. The interest for Austen comes from the ?Austen movies? I?ve seen the latest year. AIM AND FRAMING OF QUESTIONS My aim has been to compare the contents in the dialogues with the fact in the biographies. The questions are:What do the dialogues say about the convention, the behaviour, manners and the form of address? What does it say about young men and women and about the marriage? Are the dialogues supported by the content in the biographies? Did Jane Austen really write realistic? METHOD AND MATERIAL The method was to read the novels and then the biographies.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to study an electronic reference service from a user perspective. By qualitative interviews with eight students the thesis examines their information behaviour, why and when they use the service, the user?s experiences of the service and the communication with the librarian. The users have all used the Swedish electronic reference service Fråga biblioteket ? Forskningsbibliotek.
