Militär identitet : En kvalitativ studie om att vara anställd soldat i Försvarsmakten
My study was conducted to provide a deeper understanding of the identity of employee soldiers in the armed forces and their experience of their role in the military context. To describe and identify the soldier's identity formation, values and norms working in group processes are taken into account. As the individual identifies her or himself whit the group, the various phenomena as hostility to other military groups arise. The individuals weld together with other group members to form strong normative relationships within the group. Through a qualitative research approach eight soldiers in a regiment in western Sweden were interviewed, four of them were group executives or deputy group leaders and others were ordinary soldiers.

It describes the progress of modernity and the conflicting interests of an old local culture and a new more ?civilised? one. The two cultures are constituted by different value systems and in the novel they are represented by two neighbour communities.
Project: Knowledge. A two-sided perspective on knowledge transfer & knowledge creation
Purpose: Our purpose is to describe and understand how a project-based, knowledge-intensive firm in the high-technology industry creates and transfers knowledge, seen from two perspectives.Methodology: Our qualitative case study has an explorative approach since earlier studies within our positioning are absent, thus we look at KM abductively. To gain more depth to our study, we mirror our findings from our case company with data collected from three additional organisations.Theoretical perspectives: We see a clear distinction between researchers, either seeing knowledge as an object or a process. Thus, we review theories from both sides, either focusing on the creation or transferring of knowledge. In addition, theories on KM in project organisations areaccounted for.Empirical foundation: The study is based on the empirical foundation which consists of the data received through six interviews with employees at our main case company and, additionally, two interviews at each of our three mirrorcompanies.Conclusion: The study found KM being seen from both perspectives in all four firms. Through this, we found implications for how our case company could proceed in the future..
Kvinnor i kommunala nämnder : En kvantitativ studie i kvinnopolitisk representation
Over the last decades there has been a steady increase in the representation of women on the political arena. Despite of this there are still fewer women in comparison to men in political organs particularly at the municipal level. It is therefore of great importance to examine which different factors that tend to effect the female representation at this level. Doctor of philosophy at Umeå University Jessika Wide presented in a study from 2000 that the share of women in the municipal councils tended to depend upon cultural, socio-economical and political factors. Other scholars also mean that women have specific interests and therefore are more represented in some areas.

Organisering av ojämställdhet - En studie av kvinnors möjligheter att nå chefspositioner i Försvarsmaktens personalstab
This thesis aims to examine why women are prevented from attaining high positions in organizations. By executing a case study through qualitative interviews with employees from the Human Resource Department at the agency for Swedish Armed Forces, this study presents eight general and specific explanatory factors that hinder women from making a vertical career. The general factors include that women are discriminated against, women are perceived as less competent, men have created organizations and it is easier to recruit men. The specific factors include that a hierarchical organizational structure is correlated to inequality, that both the agency for Swedish Armed Forces and leadership are associated with masculinity and that women with civil competence face double misfortune. The division between general and specific factors indicate that the explanatory factors vary between organizations, which among other things implies that equality work should be tailored for the specific organization.

Hur valet av karriär ter sig för individen har varit ett forskningsfält i ca. 100 år. Syftet med studien var att undersöka föräldrars, kamraters, studievägledares, statusens och självförverkligandets påverkan på gymnasie- och yrkesvalet för elever i nionde klass. Likheter och skillnader mellan yrkesgymnasieintresserade och högskoleintresserade elever undersöktes utifrån faktorerna. Fem yngre män och tre yngre kvinnor i årskurs nio som gjort sitt val till gymnasiet valdes ut till intervjuer.
Global Ethics in Dialogue : Church Studies on Globalization in Relation to Global Theories of Justice
The globalization of political and economic processes is a growing moral concern for theologians and political philosophers alike. My thesis aims to outline, analyze, and compare church studies of globalization with global theories of justice.To do this, I draw upon recent studies of globalization made by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). The WCC and LWF are two global reaching church organizations. They have a common aim of uniting churches for ecumenical dialogue and are involved in social, economic, political, and ecological questions. The WCC and LWF analyze globalization by applying biblical and theological principles from the Christian tradition.
Vem är kvinnan i ELLE? : En kvantitativ studie av hur kvinnan framställs i ELLE Sverige (2013).
Who is the most typical woman in ELLE Sweden (2013)? In this study we investigated the typical woman represented in the Swedish fashion magazine ELLE (2013) for women. Does a typical woman exist in the magazine at all and if so ? in what words and roles is she described in? How is this woman perceived in relation to the male gender? Based on the theory of constructionism; that the gender (i.e. What is female versus male) is constructed in the society and that media has an affect on our physical and psychological well being as well as our behavior and thoughts, the investigation of the female gender representation in women magazines, was of great importance to us.
Behovet av tillhörighet och vikten av utbildning - Sju unga indiska kvinnors livsberättelser
Under vår utbildning som studie- och yrkesvägledare får vi lära oss om flera karriärteorier men dessa är främst utformade utifrån ett västerländskt perspektiv. Vi har ett stort intresse av att lära oss om vad som påverkar en människas val av karriär i olika kulturer. Vår examensarbete tar avstamp i en välgörenhetsorganisation för utsatta barn och kvinnor i delstaten Goa i Indien och vi har genom organisationen mött sju unga kvinnor som fått stöd av dem. Vårt syfte är att ta reda på vad som är centralt i de unga kvinnornas karriärval och hur de berättar om sina livs- och karriärberättelser. Vi har använt en narrativ metod för att få svar på våra frågeställningar och har använt Savickas vägledningsteori om Career Construction för att förstå faktorerna som ligger bakom deras val.
Vi kan i vår studie se att behovet av tillhörighet och vikten av utbildning syns tydligt i våra intervjupersoners livsberättelser.

In this essay the author has chosen to analyze the similarities and differences between some of the northern Europe?s late Mesolithic and Neolithic cultures. The research is of a processual standpoint and the information is mainly gathered from secondary sources as well as ethnological studies. The material collected has been analyzed in both a processual and a post-processual manner to most accurately study the foundations of the three primary theories describing the Pitted Ware Culture?s origin.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate the factors of children?s voluntarily reading in their spare time. We also want to know if the children choose non-fiction books for their voluntarily reading. The method as well as the empirical basis of this study is qualitative, with interviews of twenty-eight children in ages between 9 and 12 years. We conducted nine interviews with 3?4 children in each group.

This paper begins to observe two non-socialist parties in Sweden,Kristdemokraterna and Moderaterna, before and after they won an election. Thetwo parties formed an alliance with other parties and manifested a politicalprogram. The main focus lies on their campaign promises and their premierpolitical area as a single party before the election and what results that has beenproduced a year after. The method is a comparative analysis between the twocampaign programs and the result, parliamentary decision etc. The largest partyModeraterna has completed or started on their main political issue, butKristdemokraternas development has not been that successful.
Middagsfrid Vs. Linas Matkasse : betydelsen av hur ett varumärke förmedlas
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate why Linas Matkasse has greater success in terms of market share than Middagsfrid despite the similarities of their concepts. The study will also examine potential and existing customers' image of the brands and corporate brand awareness.Method: This study is based on a triangulation in which both quantitative and qualitative methods are treated in the form of personal interviews and a questionnaire survey.Theoretical perspectives: Four theories are addressed in this study and they treat the brand from different aspects. The theories process how to create value, personality dimensions, how companies should act and strategies around brand.Empiricism: The empirical material consists of five interviews, one of which was with the brand manager at Middagsfrid. Then two interviews were conducted with consumers of Linas Matkasse and two interviews with consumers of Middagsfrid. A questionnaire survey has also been conducted.
Barns yrkesdrömmar - En kvalitativ studie om vad som påverkar barns karriärutveckling
Syftet med undersökningen är att få ökad förståelse för hur barn tänker om sin framtid och varför de tänker som de gör, vilka faktorer som ligger till grund för hur barnen tänker. För att undersöka detta har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod där vi genom en ostrukturerad intervjuguide intervjuade åtta barn i åldrarna 9-12 år, fyra pojkar och fyra flickor. Intervjuns frågor delades in i olika teman, dessa teman användes även i presentationen av vårt empiriska material. För att kunna få förståelse för barnens tankar är det viktigt att ha förståelse för de processer (vilka processer?) som ett barn genomgår och formas utifrån.
