This thesis explore women?s needs when reentering society after having served a sentence at the female prison Färingsö, outside Stockholm and whether those needs are being met in the reentry strategies that are being provided. Parallel to this the thesis also examines if there, based on nonconformity and gender theories, is a socially constructed representation of women maintained in the rehabilitation work.The method of this thesis applied semi-structured interviews and used snowball sampling to expand the network of informants to obtain the data necessary. Totally five interviews were carried out. Previous research has shown that women in prison have much more complex problems than men and that there is a need for reentry strategies that take gender in account.The results showed that in terms of being able to reenter back in society, women needed help to structure a previously chaotic life.

The sexuality of hivinfected people is quite controversial but nevertheless important when speaking of hivprevention. The aim of this work was to survey and analyze support and counseling practices around sexual issues given to hivpositive people by their treating medical doctors. We wanted to bring the question of hivinfected peoples sexuality and sexual behavior sometimes unprotected and the Swedish legislation and hivprevention efforts under discussion. Based on the results of a questionnaire answered by the doctors, previous research and different social constructionistic and interactionistic theories about the nature of sexuality we made our analysis. We found that the Swedish legislation offers a positive basis for successful hivprevention, but that there are some important obstacles to be overcome in order to really succeed and further reduce the number of new hivinfected people in Sweden.

The aim of this study was to gain insight into how two enterprises work with competence development and thereby study how the relationship between competence development and workers, employees, look like. The focus was on the workers motives and motivation towards a participation in a competence development course, their attitude to education, and how the transfer of skills gained from the course, into the workplace looks like. Further on, the work situations influence on the workers competence development has been taken into account.In the study, six people were interviewed in the role of either manager, coach or course participant who are employed in two different enterprises in the south of Sweden.The results showed that the participants were motivated by a strive for personal development or that the participants viewed education implementation as a part of the professionalcareer, which has resulted in a positive attitude towards the competence development course. The managers? motive for decisions about education was to change the prevailing attitude among the staff for the better and thereby strengthen the company?s brand. The work situation has encouraged the desire to participate in developmental education as the feeling of control has encouraged the workers to further development.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka hur djur, med fokus på hundar, används som hjälpmedel i behandlingsarbete samt vilka effekter användningen av hundar anses ha. Vi fördjupade oss i de metoder som finns med djur som hjälpmedel samt studerade ett exempel på ett behandlingshem där hundar används i vård- och terapisyfte. Genom en litteraturstudie och en kvalitativ intervjuundersökning har vi fått svar på följande frågeställningar: Hur kan hundar användas som hjälpmedel i behandlingsarbete och vilka arbetsmetoder finns? Vilka fysiska och psykiska effekter kan användningen av hundar som ett hjälpmedel i vård- och terapisyfte ha? Vad gör en hund till en bra vård- och terapihund? Hur används hundar på en missbruksinstitution för äldre män? Resultatet pekar på att hundar kan användas i vård- och terapisyfte genom användning av de metoder som finns, det vill säga Animal-Assisted Activity, Animal-Assisted Therapy samt Animal-Assisted Therapy in Counseling. Vad som gör en hund till en bra vård- och terapihund är att den tränas på adekvat sätt, har ett bra temperament samt har en hundförare som ser till klientens och hundens bästa.

Syfte: Att undersöka patienters upplevelser av ett besök på en studentmottagning för gynekologi och preventivmedelsrådgivning. Metod: Deskriptiv tvärsnittsstudie i form av en enkätundersökning med frågor rörande bemötande, tillgänglighet och förslag till förbättring. Enkäten hade både öppna och slutna svarsalternativ och delades ut av barmorskan eller gynekologen efter avslutat besök under en period av två veckor, 150 enkäter delades ut. Huvudresultat: 138 personer deltog i denna studie varav 95% var kvinnor, svarsfrekvensen var 92%. Den vanligaste orsaken till att Studentgyn besöktes var preventivmedelsrådgivning.

My study was conducted to provide a deeper understanding of the identity of employee soldiers in the armed forces and their experience of their role in the military context. To describe and identify the soldier's identity formation, values and norms working in group processes are taken into account. As the individual identifies her or himself whit the group, the various phenomena as hostility to other military groups arise. The individuals weld together with other group members to form strong normative relationships within the group. Through a qualitative research approach eight soldiers in a regiment in western Sweden were interviewed, four of them were group executives or deputy group leaders and others were ordinary soldiers.

This thesis aims to examine why women are prevented from attaining high positions in organizations. By executing a case study through qualitative interviews with employees from the Human Resource Department at the agency for Swedish Armed Forces, this study presents eight general and specific explanatory factors that hinder women from making a vertical career. The general factors include that women are discriminated against, women are perceived as less competent, men have created organizations and it is easier to recruit men. The specific factors include that a hierarchical organizational structure is correlated to inequality, that both the agency for Swedish Armed Forces and leadership are associated with masculinity and that women with civil competence face double misfortune. The division between general and specific factors indicate that the explanatory factors vary between organizations, which among other things implies that equality work should be tailored for the specific organization.

Hur valet av karriär ter sig för individen har varit ett forskningsfält i ca. 100 år. Syftet med studien var att undersöka föräldrars, kamraters, studievägledares, statusens och självförverkligandets påverkan på gymnasie- och yrkesvalet för elever i nionde klass. Likheter och skillnader mellan yrkesgymnasieintresserade och högskoleintresserade elever undersöktes utifrån faktorerna. Fem yngre män och tre yngre kvinnor i årskurs nio som gjort sitt val till gymnasiet valdes ut till intervjuer.

Who is the most typical woman in ELLE Sweden (2013)? In this study we investigated the typical woman represented in the Swedish fashion magazine ELLE (2013) for women. Does a typical woman exist in the magazine at all and if so ? in what words and roles is she described in? How is this woman perceived in relation to the male gender? Based on the theory of constructionism; that the gender (i.e. What is female versus male) is constructed in the society and that media has an affect on our physical and psychological well being as well as our behavior and thoughts, the investigation of the female gender representation in women magazines, was of great importance to us.

Under vår utbildning som studie- och yrkesvägledare får vi lära oss om flera karriärteorier men dessa är främst utformade utifrån ett västerländskt perspektiv. Vi har ett stort intresse av att lära oss om vad som påverkar en människas val av karriär i olika kulturer. Vår examensarbete tar avstamp i en välgörenhetsorganisation för utsatta barn och kvinnor i delstaten Goa i Indien och vi har genom organisationen mött sju unga kvinnor som fått stöd av dem. Vårt syfte är att ta reda på vad som är centralt i de unga kvinnornas karriärval och hur de berättar om sina livs- och karriärberättelser. Vi har använt en narrativ metod för att få svar på våra frågeställningar och har använt Savickas vägledningsteori om Career Construction för att förstå faktorerna som ligger bakom deras val. Vi kan i vår studie se att behovet av tillhörighet och vikten av utbildning syns tydligt i våra intervjupersoners livsberättelser.

Skolan är den plats som ansvarar för elevens utveckling och enligt läroplanerna ska skolan förmedla arbetslivets villkor. Syftet med undersökningen är att undersöka gymnasieelevers förvärvande av omvärldskunskaper, med särskild hänsyn tagen till yrken, utbildning, utbildningsvägar och arbetsliv. Studien syftar vidare till i vilken utsträckning elever anser att omvärldskunskaper är viktigt vid studie- och yrkesval.

The purpose of this essay is to investigate the working conditions of professional photographers at the start of the 20th century. The aim of this essay is to provide a glimpse into this specific time-period with the main question: How were the working conditions for professional photographers? More specifically, this essay will provide a detailed picture that focuses on the difficulties women encountered, when attempting to make photography a legitimate professional career and combined with the traditions as wife and woman.The essay is divided into three main parts. By looking at statistical databases such as Swedish National Archive?s and other recourses, the first part establishes what Swedish society was like after the reforms that had taken place by the end of the 19th Century.

Secondary schools have for decades debated whether they promote social reproduction which is considered to generate the homogeneous student compositions. The gap between the academic programs and vocational education programs is considered to increase. What in recent years has appeared in research is that the gap is increasing most tend to be in the specific academic program, particularly in science. This paper's intention is to describe the science program at a local level and the pupils who were admitted to the science program autumn 2009 on the basis of an educational sociological perspective. The survey consisted of a census in which all students were given the opportunity to answer a questionnaire.
