Kalkningens påverkan på fosforlöslighet : skakförsök baserade på två svenska långliggande kalk- och fosforgödslingsförsök

Eutrophication is an environmental problem that affects more than ten percent of Swedish lakes. Excess nutrients increase the growth of algae, and cause major problems in the ecosystem through oxygen-free bottoms, fish kills, and at worst dead bottoms. Agriculture accounts for 44% of human emissions of phosphorus to lakes and rivers. Leaching occurs of particle bound phosphorus and of dissolved phosphate. The amount of phosphate in the soil solution that may be leached is partly due to the prevailing pH in the soil solution. The purpose of this study was to investigate how the relationship between phosphate solubility and pH was affected by liming.

Husaberg Scandinavia AB is a company producing and developing a range of motorcycles for both on- and off-road use. Husaberg provided the project group with a task of developing an entirely new way of operating the sequential transmission that can be found in today?s motorcycles. The target was to bring the product from idea to a functional prototype ready for further tests. Operation of the motorcycles transmission is today made by a foot pedal placed on the left hand side of the bike.

EU:s system för handel med utsläppsrätter i Sverige : En intervjustudie om några svenska energibolags och myndigheters uppfattning och agerande

Den 1 januari 2005, startades det europeiska handelssystemet med utsläppsrätter. Handelssystemet avser att minskakoldioxidutsläppen inom Europa, för att fullfölja åtagandet i Kyotoprotokollet. I Sverige har flera sektorer påverkatsav handeln med utsläppsrätter bl.a. energisektorn, som står i fokus för denna studie.Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera hur de större och mindre energibolagen samt de ansvariga myndigheterna iSverige uppfattar systemet för handel med utsläppsrätter. För att uppfylla syftet formulerades ett antalfrågeställningar om hur energibolagen och myndigheterna ser på handelssystemets följande områden, fördelar ochnackdelar, implementering, tilldelningsprinciper, förbättringspotential, framtida utveckling, samt om det finns någralikheter och skillnader mellan energibolagen.

LCA av dricksvattendesinfektion : en jämförelse av klor och UV-ljus

Disinfection methods for drinking-water produced at the two water works of Stockholm Water Co are compared in this study. Three different nethods are compared; disinfection with chlorine gas, disinfection with sodium hypochlorite and disinfection with UV-light and monochloramine. The method used is Life cycle assessment, LCA. LCA is defined as the compilation and evaluation of the inputs, outputs and potential environmental impact of a product system shroughout its life cycle. The environmental burden is compared for the three different disinfection methods.

The real estate company Ihus is facing an expansion of its comfort cooling in Noatun,Uppsala, to provide the buildings in the block with cooling. The buildings in Noatunare mainly used for office premises, where the requirements for an accepted indoorclimate is great. However, it?s uncertain whether Ihus should continue, as currently,producing comfort cooling by themselves using a compressor chiller, or if they shouldconnect themselves to Vattenfall?s district cooling net.The purpose of this report is to examine which technique of cooling is best suited forIhus and their buildings in Noatun. It should also work as a guideline for othercompanies facing the same problem as Ihus.

Optimization of Burner Kiln 7, Cementa Slite

In this report focus is put on the combustion process at a cement plant. Combustion is the heart of the cement making process and absolutely crucial to have under full control and well optimized. The fuel is put into the process through a burner pipe and this burner pipe is modified to reach a more efficient combustion. The primary target is to enable burning of heterogeneous alternative fuels and increase the production level. Other positive effects from this type of optimization is lowered specific fuel consumption and lowered CO2 emissions. A redundant burner is chosen for the project and overall the project steps are the following: 1. Installing a Jet air nozzle ring in a way so it can move both axially and radially due to temperature changes. 2.

Emissions of insufficiently treated wastewater, mainly blackwater (i.e. wastewater from toilets), contributes to the eutrophication of lakes and seas. At the same time, blackwater is a fraction with a low content of heavy metals and, after sanitization, it can recirculate plant nutrients to arable land using the liquid composting treatment method. Liquid composting means that organic material is degraded under aerobic conditions. For sanitization, the blackwater needs to be treated together with energy-rich complementary material.

SammanfattningScanias lastbilar har under de senaste åren haft en snabb utveckling när det gäller elektronik och styr - reglerteknik. En givare som inte har haft samma utveckling är yttertemperaturgivaren som introducerades i Scanias lastbilar 1987. Totalt finns det idag 10 olika ECU-system som använder sig av givarsignalen. Det har visat sig att yttertemperaturgivaren i Scanias lastbilar visar för högt värde i vissa körfall. Stora avvikelser på yttertemperaturvärdet har inte varit ovanliga när motorn har varit varm och lastbilen färdats i hastigheter under 30 km/h eller kör på tomgång, till exempel vid ett rödljus.

Deep Green i oceana strömmar - en konceptstudie

With growing economies and better living standards in many parts of the world today, there is a need of expanding the capacity of generating electricity. The alternatives for renewable energy technologies are not fully developed and have still some problems to conquer.The company Minesto has developed a technology that is called Deep Green. It is designed to gain electricity from tidal currents. Deep Green works in a similar way as a kite that is attached to the seafloor with a moving wire. It contains of a wing that moves due to the water current.

Analys av framtidens system för hantering av avloppsvatten och matavfall i Eskilstuna

Wastewater treatment is increasingly controlled by the Swedish environmental quality objectives, adopted by the Swedish parliament. There is a need for a sewage system that can fulfill stringent requirements concerning the environment, recycling and resource use and hygiene. Additional environmental aspects in recent years are the impact of climate change, new knowledge about the effects of pharmaceuticals in water, the need for improved wastewater treatment and increased recycling of nutrients to agriculture. This report has, from a future scenario of the year 2050, analyzed seven different systems for wastewater treatment and treatment of compostable biowaste from households in Eskilstuna. A future scenario was chosen based on that within a forty year period new challenges may arise which can result in higher demands on sewage treatment than those we see today. Another reason why the future scenario was established is that changes in wastewater treatment systems are slow to establish. The analysis is mainly focused on the economical aspects but environmental aspects such as emissions to receiving waters and potential recycling of plant nutrients has also been evaluated briefly.

Metoder för mätning och simulering av bränsle förbrukning och emissioner från tunga fordon

Vägverket och Energimyndigheten har ombett AVL MTC att undersöka metoderför att mäta och simulera bränsleförbrukning och utsläpp för tunga fordonuttryckt i gram per kilometer (avstånds specifikt)AVL MTC publicerade år 2000 en rapport som visade en mycket god korrelationmellan statiska motor körcykler körda på motordynamometer och som sedansimuleras på en chassidynamometer för tunga fordon [15]. Rapporten visadeäven att korrelationen mellan en transientakörcykler som körts både påmotordynamometer och sedan simuleras på en chassidynamometer inte varlika god. Tester som utförs på en motordynamometer är mycket mer direktverkande på testobjektet. När motorn är monterad i ett fordon som sedantestats på en chassidynamometer kommer den att fungera som ett merdynamiskt system, tackvare exempelvis påverkan av drivlinan tillsammans medväxellåda och däck. Även tester på väg som utförts på AVL MTC visar att vissatunga motorer förbrukar mer bränsle och släpper ut mer emissioner när de ärmonterad i tunga fordon, som körs under verkliga körförhållanden, jämfört medmotorns certifieringsprovningsresultat.

Mineraliska material som reaktiva filter för avskiljning av tungmetaller från dagvatten

Highly polluted urban storm water from e.g. highways can contain large amounts of heavy metals that may cause harm if they are discharged into recipients. To remove the heavy metals a possible low-cost method that does not require much maintenance, could be the use of reactive filters with filter materials consisting of industrial residues or other cheap mineral based materials. Dissolved metal ions are removed by reactive filters through the processes of ions binding to active sites on the surface of the filter materials, or by formation of insoluble precipitates.The ability of CaO-treated granulated blast-furnace slag, iron oxide coated sand, olivine and nepheline to remove seven heavy metals (Cr, Cd, Cu, Ni, Zn, Pb and Hg) from urban storm water was studied. Initially batch experiments were performed where the effect of pH, dissolved organic carbon (DOC) and dissolved ions on the adsorption efficiency was studied.

Welding is a common method for joining of metal or plastic construction parts. This report describes several different weld methods in general terms. The report focuses on the GMAW method, specifically MAG welding.A case study has also been performed for the company Wenmec. The task received from the company was to compare the mechanical properties of joints welded with the tube electrode called Nittetsu SM-3A and joints welded with the homogenous electrode called ESAB Aristorod 12.63. Both types of weld joint were welded with the MAG method with an Argon based shielding gas with 18% CO2.

NCC has given us a commission to investigate a planned housing area in Haga, Karlstad, situated close to the traffic route Hagaleden and the railway. The housing area consists of one hundred apartments in five different houses. The houses are linked to each other by balconies with glass panels. A long carport is situated between Hagaleden and the housing area to absorb part of the noise from the road. The design of the housing area is creating a silent backyard.
