The so called democratic deficit and the lack of legitimacy have been at the core of the EU-debate in the last decades. Low turnouts in the elections for the European parliament and disapproval in the ratification processes of the latest changes of the treaties are examples of the citizens lack of confidence for the EU and continuous integration. In Nice 2000 the heads of the member states governments agreed to try to improve the democratic legitimacy in the EU and initiated a public debate aiming at proposals for changes in the decision making processes in the EU. In July 2001 the commission published a white paper with their view. A fundamental presumption in discourse theory is that language and language usage not just is a way to deliver information about ideas and behaviours.

This survey's main purpose is to highlight how the two Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter writes and describes four different school shootings. We wanted to find out if there is a general pattern of how school shootings are reported by the media. Two of the shootings occured in USA, Columbine and Virginia Tech, and two in Finland, Kauhajoki and Jokela. The analysis aims at three areas: the whole event, the perpetrator and the victim. We have used a qualitative content analysis with a semiotic model to examine the articles in the survey. The theories in the study is based upon views on social constructionism, media logic, stereotypization, representation, morale panic/media panic and media events.

The study's aim is to implement a textbook analysis and examine how women are described in history textbooks for high school and in the curriculums Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11. The study has a gender perspective and the study's purpose is to make a comparative study and compare textbooks with the current curriculum and compare the results with each other to see if there has been any change over time. The survey's material is three editions of Alla tiders historia from Gleerups förlag. The study refers to editions from 1989, 1996 and 2011. General parts from Lgy 70, Lpf 94 and Gy 11 are also central for my study.

Kvalitetsregistren kan också användas till forskning och förbättringsarbeten. Nationella kvalitetsregister utvecklades av den medicinska professionen under 1970-talet. På senare år har det utvecklats kvalitetsregister med registerdata för flera professioner för att få en mer komplett utvärdering av vårdkedjan. Syfte Att beskriva vilka omvårdnadsdata som registreras i nationella kvalitetsregister inom de största folksjukdomarna.

RIB är ett verktyg som kan användas vidverksamhet med riskhantering, förebyggande av olyckor, utbildning, för tillsyn, planering och vid genomförande av räddningstjänstinsatser. Meningen är att RIB ska kunna användas av personer som endast har en grundläggande datorvana utan att dessa ska behöva genomgå en omfattande utbildning i hur programmet fungerar.Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att identifiera brister i gränssnitt och struktur i RIB utan inblandning av Räddningsverkets egna värderingar och förutfattade meningar.Arbetet inleddes med teoriinhämtning varefter empiriska studier följde i form av genomgång av en marknadsanalys, intervjuer med användare samt observation av användare. Under arbetets gång utformades också en utvärderingsmodell för användartest, denna låg till grund för ett utfört användbarhetstest.Arbetet har resulterat i en diskussion dör förändringar i RIB föreslås. Del föreslås förändringar i den övergripande strukturen för att göra RIB mer konsekvent i dess utformning och därigenom göra det lättare för användaren att överblicka programmet. Dels föreslås förändringar i de olika delar som RIB består av som är tänkta att göra det enklare för användaren att överblicka all information i en akut situation..

Every now and then new political ideas appear which creates debate. A current example of political debate is the one which concerns the creation of a feminist political party in Sweden -Feministiskt initiativ. Apparent in the current debate is that there are two existing conflicts of ideas present. The liberal thought of politics of ideas stands against feminism's demand for presence in the political life. And the other, the conflict which concerns the question of where a line between the public and the private spheres should be drawn.

Sweden has been a member of the European Union since 1995 and the power of the organisation to make decisions has increased over the years in a rate which hasn?t been followed by an equally increase in democratization. This is partly due to the lack of participation in the decision making process and at the national level the citizens don?t possess enough channels to compensate the loss of influence. The method for examining the lyrics of the love songs is discourse- theory and analysis.

For almost a century the debate about women as ordained servants in the Church of Sweden has raged on and on. The decision to open up the priesthood for both genders in 1958 was a milestone in the women?s liberation movement as well as it marks an important time in the church history. The debate has mainly been about how to interpret scripture, who has the right to do so, and so on. Feminist theology has become one way in recent decades to paint a wider and more nuanced picture of history and how to interpret the texts often used to repress women.This essay surveys some of the steps towards that decision, as well as it paints a rough picture of what leadership among women in the church could involve before ordination became an option.

Kommunikation är en grundläggande källa till spridning av kunskap med en påverkan på både individ och samhälle varpå ett intresse föreligger i att undersöka fenomenet närmare. Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka sociala representationer potentiella medarbetare har av ett attraktivt Employer Brand. Vidare syftar studien till att kartlägga sociala representationer av Länsförsäkringar Skaraborgs Employer Brand. Empirin samlades in genom enkäter och i studien ingick 207 högskolestudenter. Resultatet visade att Symboliska Image-attribut värderas högre än Funktionella Image-attribut men att båda dimensionerna är betydande gällande ett attraktivt Employer Brand.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka hur svenska gymnasietjejer positionerar sig gentemot andra och inom sitt egna fält utifrån deras klasstillhörighet och syn på kvinnlighet. Ansatserna är att identifiera den sociala positioneringens betydelse i deras vardag samt diskutera betydelsen av studier som denna i en representationskontext.Intervjuerna är utformade utifrån en tematisk referensram där främst det fria ordet har haft företräde. Analysen av materialet visar på en klassbunden positionering i fråga om hur kvinnlighet framförs och tolkas. Rörligheten i det sociala rummet begränsas av definitioner av hur en kvinna bör vara och inte vara samt hur mycket symboliskt kapital tjejerna upplever att de handlar med på den lokala marknaden. Motstånd mot ideal uppfinns utifrån de resurser som är tillgängliga och risktagande är kopplat till symboliska tillgångar.

The purpose of this paper is to make a feminist textual analysis of three female protagonists incontemporary novels in order to demonstrate representations of ?skeva? female bodies, deviantfrom beauty-, slender and age norms. The analysis is based on an intersectional perspective whichdemonstrates the interaction between body, sex, gender, class, sexuality and age. The theoreticalmaterial used are class theories by Bourdieu and Skeggs, performative theories by Butler, theoriesof grotesque realism by Bachtin and the female grotesque by Russo and Lundberg. The charactersall belong to the genre of the female grotesque which manifests a feminist protest and a free zonewithin patriarchal power structures.

This study examines the state of criticism in the arts section of Sweden?s largest newspaper Dagens Nyheter. The study stems from raised concerns about the failing position of arts criticism, dubbed ?the crisis of criticism?. Through an overview it compares the arts section of February 1997 to the arts section of 2007.

This essay is a part of a project called ?Young peoples representation of love and relationships? and was initialized in Barcelona in January 2006. The University of Barcelona cooperates with the University college of Södertörns Högskola to compare perception of love among youths in both countries. The project focuses on teenagers between 13-19 years of age. The project uses four types of questionnaires with questions about love, feelings, empathy and relationships witch were compiled by research workers at the University of Barcelona.?A Love-ly game? is a qualitative study that is based on a questionnaire-investigation made in a Gymnasium-school in a suburb south of Stockholm.

In this study thoughts of the individual?s right to equality are considered. By using critical ideology analysis the central tools of the study are strongly connected with thoughts of representation, equality, individual and collective rights, equal opportunities and possibilities and discrimination. In critical ideology analysis nothing can be automatically visible to us and critical ideology analysis is a method as well as a theory.A central point in this study is to investigate whether there are oppositional views or unanimity in the debate of affirmative action. The debate is still under ?construction?, which means that the debate has not yet come up with a solution to the problems of discrimination.
