Det primära syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva hur cancerrelaterad malnutrition uppkom och hur kroppen påverkades. Vidare syftade studien till att beskriva hur patienterna upplevde nutritionsproblemen och dess konsekvenser. Studien syftade även till att beskriva hur patienternas livskvalitet påverkades av nutritionsproblemen, samt vilka åtgärder sjukvårdspersonalen kunde vidta för att förbättra nutritionen hos patienter med cancer. Artikelsökningen har skett via databaserna Elin@Dalarna, Blackwell Synergy och EBSCO Host. Sökorden som användes var cancer, healthcare, nutrition, malnutrition, nurse, nursing, quality of life och experiences.

Bröstcancer drabbar 10 till 15 kvinnor dagligen och utgör därmed den vanligaste formen av cancer hos kvinnor. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att undersöka behovet av information och stöd hos kvinnor med bröstcancer. Genom att göra en litteraturstudie kan vetenskaplig kunskap från ett flertal artiklar sammanställas och komma till nytta i det kliniska arbetet. Resultatet visade att bröstcancerpatienters hade ett stort behov av information och stöd, detta behov måste dock identifieras individuellt för varje patient. Dessa patienter ansåg att information om möjligheten att bli botad, behandlingsalternativ samt recidiv var viktig.

I dagens samhälle drabbas många människor av cancer, där flertalet av de drabbade lider av smärta. En liten del av Danmarks cancerpatienter har möjligheten att avsluta sitt liv på Hospice. Syftet med studien var att genom fyra intervjuer belysa danska sjuksköterskors upplevelser av att vårda cancerpatienter med smärta på Hospice. Studien är fenomenologiskt inriktad. Teoretikern som användes i studien ar Katie Eriksson.

Bakgrund: Barn som besökare på sjukhus accepterades först på 1980-talet då man tidigare ansåg att barnet kunde utsättas för psykologiskt trauma. Numera vet man att det är viktigt att inkludera barnet i vården. En förälders sjukdom påverkar hela familjen och dagens sjuksköterska ställs därför inför utmaningen att vårda patienten och samtidigt se till barnets behov. Sjuksköterskans skyldighet att beakta barns behov som anhörig är tydlig i lagstiftningen. Syfte: Att beskriva barns behov samt strategier barnet använder för att hantera en situation när dennes förälder har cancer.Metod: En litteraturstudie om barns (6-12 år) behov och strategier för att hantera situationen har genomförts.

Cancer är en ständigt pågående process och påverkar livet, diagnosen cancer skapar många funderingar och känslor hos den drabbade individen. Prostatacancer är den vanligaste tumörsjukdomen bland män och påverkar mannens dagliga liv. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att beskriva mäns upplevelser av att leva med prostatacancer. Arton artiklar som motsvarade syftet har analyserats med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Analysen resulterade i fem kategorier: Att leva med smärta och vara impotent påverkar glädjen i livet, att vara orolig och skämmas över inkontinens, att inte vara redo att berätta för andra, att vara i behov av stöd och kunskap och att känna hopp ger balans i livet.
