Designprincipers applicerbarhet på domänen streamad-TV
In our study, we investigated how the streamed TV domain relates to existing design principles for web design. Further, we have investigated whether there are specific characteristics of the domain that the design principles do not cover. In the survey we have studied two sites which are representative of the streamed TV domain. Finally, we discuss how applicable the design principles are for the domain and the specific characteristics that would require new or further developed design principles..
Nyckelfaktorer för en designs slutskede
The final stage of a designers work is always a bit tricky. Design is an abstract phenomenon and no one can tell when a design is really finished. The design process that designers work within has been thoroughly studied but cannot be truly mapped with strict constraints which the designer can follow to succeed. Therefore, in this paper we take a look at the final stage in the design process. The main goal is to get more knowledge and highlight key factors about what designers face when they are about finish their design or what forces them to leave a project that can stay in development for eternity.
Camp Vamp - Att ljussätta en dansföreställning med skiftande förutsättningar
I work on a lighting design for a dance performance to be on tour. A lighting design adapted for
three different conditions was made:
- One comprehensive where I allow myself a great deal of creative freedom, adapted for the
stages with major technical conditions.
- One smaller version for stages with less equipment and with less time for preparation on
site.
- One design for very simple conditions.
I also examine the specific differences between typical theatrical lighting design and typical dance
lighting design, and the best way to prepare for the hands-on stage design phase..
Utveckling av en mobil robotplattform
Detta examensarbete har syftat till att utveckla en robotplattform som kan användas i kursen ?Design av mobila autonoma robotar? för studenter på Elektronikdesign vid Campus Norrköping.Arbetet har utgått från en modell som visar på robotens tänkta utseende. Utifrån ett antal kriterier har val av batterier, motorer och styrelektronik gjorts. Arbetet har sedan fokuserats på att ta fram hårdvara till styrelektroniken samt ett bakplan där studenternas styrkort monteras. Ett kretskort för styrkortet och ett för bakplanet har tillverkats i ITN:s mönsterkortslaboratorium.
Digital guidning på campus Alnarp : tekniska lösningar för riktad information till olika målgrupper
Today digital guides are most frequently used by the museum and tourism industries. They are also used for education purposes. They make it possible to distribute information and have it easily accessible. In addition to written information they add sound, pictures and videos which lift the whole impression of the visited place to a higher level.
A variety of systems currently in use today have been evaluated.
Synchronous Latency Insensitive Design in FPGA
A design methodology to mitigate timing problems due to long wire delays is proposed. The timing problems are taking care of at architecture level instead of layout level in this design method so that no change is needed when the whole design goes to backend design. Hence design iterations are avoided by using this design methodology. The proposed design method is based on STARI architecture, and a novel initialization mechanism is proposed in this paper. Low frequency global clock is used to synchronize the communication and PLLs are used to provide high frequency working clocks.
Alkohol : En undersökning av första års programstudenter vid campus Borlänge
I denna uppsats har en undersökning av studenters alkoholvanor gjorts. Syftet med arbetet var att få en uppfattning om första års programstudenters alkoholvanor vid Högskolan Dalarna campus Borlänge. Följande frågeställningar belyses i studien: Hur ofta och hur mycket dricker studenter vid respektive program, hur ser kvinnornas alkoholvanor ut jämfört med männens, samt om alkoholvanorna skiljer sig mellan programmen.Jag har använt mig av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning där totalt 60 studenter från tre olika program har medverkat. Studenterna går första året på Högskolan Dalarna och är i åldrarna 19-24 år. De program som undersöktes var Grafisk teknologi och design, Materialdesign samt Ekonomprogrammet.
Activate Nyhamnen : a design proposal after Kongjian Yu's design approch
This thesis introduces Kongjian Yu?s design approach in terms of industrial heritage conservation in connection to transformation and urban design. The approach is examined respectively on two cases from China and USA. The thesis give a brief introduction to current achievement in conservation research and general profile of industrial conservation practice. Based on case and theory study, Yu?s design approach is carefully applied to an industrial area Nyhamnen in Malmö and a design proposal is produced.

A question that arises is if something specific characterises the work methodology used regarding service design. The aim with this paper is thus to explain the work methodology when working with service design.

A current issue today is to try to implement creative design as a way to solve wicked problems in scientific contexts such as HCI. Since the problems are wicked, they have no given solution which makes the traditional methods inadequate. In these cases, creative design can be an alternative. Creative design is not used in scientific contexts because it is viewed as something unaccountable.In this essay we argue that creative design not necessarily have to be unaccounted. We discuss various views of creative design and translate theory to a practical context.
Gamers and Game Design: Incorporating Users in the Design Process
This paper deals with the difficulties of applying user-centered design practices as an independent developer, based on the visualization of a game concept in the form of a prototype. The aim is to evaluate the usability of user-centered design practices, specifically in the field of games development. Trådlöst nätverk : En förstudie vid Campus Norrköping
Syftet med denna rapport är att göra en förstudie vid campus Norrköping rörande trådlöst nätverk. Det finns många olika standarder och tekniker. Vi har valt att rikta in oss på 802.11b då det är den som används mest. Trådlösa nätverk är ett bra komplement till vanliga kabelburna nätverk då det är flexibelt, relativt billigt och lätt att installera. Användningsområden för denna typ av nätverk är bland annat företag, hemmamiljö och allmänna platser såsom hotell och flygplatser, där människor kan förvandla improduktiv väntetid till effektiv arbetstid.
Attityder till design : samt studie- och yrkesvägledare
The background to this study is the government’s investment in design and the increase of design education around the country. As a future design teacher (industrialdesign) at high school/college, it is of great interest for me to look closer at student’s attitude towards design and design educations at high school.Questions that have been investigated are student´s attitude towards design; design as a concept but also as a phenomenon. How does the student counselor inform the students of the differentchoices before choosing high school?Does the students view on design correspond to what the student counselor say?What opinion does the student counselor have to the concept design as well as design in highschool? Is design just a craze or here to stay?To get answers I have made interviews with student counselors at two different schools, I have also been in contact with a student counselor on the internet. Their thoughts will clarify thesituation that the students might be in.
Minimalist design for children?s games
The aim of this report is to see whether the graphic design of a game influences children?s will to play games. I am especially looking at minimalist graphic design and how well it works for a game aimed at children age 7-9. Does the style of the game design have any impact at all concerning the children?s wish to play the game or is the game mechanic all that matters.
