Hur värderar människor utemiljön och dess funktioner? : två fallstudier - Tarapoto, Peru, och Uppsala, Sverige
This essay discusses people's perception of what is important for their well-being where they live. The main aim has been to find out what factors in the outdoor environments of the city are appreciated and why they are valued positively. A comparison has been made between Uppsala in Sweden and Tarapoto in Peru to see if, and in that case what, differences can be found in the values of people.
I chose to carry out a survey study that got a response rate of 57 persons in Tarapoto and 63 in Uppsala.
The results show that there are some common basic values, but on the whole the outdoor environments are valued differently in the two cities. In short, the Peruvians value functionality, cleanliness, small distances to family and service, while the Swedes value a central location and short distances to friends apart from functionality and good service opportunities. Conceivable reasons for this might be for example different cultural prerequisits, material standard and climate.

This report discusses a method to detect divers in harbour environments usingpassive acoustic detection. The goal was to achieve as high detection as possiblewithout having too high false alarm rate. A short execution time was also desirable.By using the characteristic of an inhalation a band-pass filter was applied to the signalto improve the signal to noise ratio. After the filtering an energy estimation of thesignal was made. This energy estimation was later used in a frequency analysis, whichcould tell us if there were enough energy in the frequencies that correspond to adivers breathing frequency.

The essay discusses the effects that changes to the office plan have on organizational culture. Information about actual change as well as expected change in organizational culture was gathered before the empirical research was initiated. The empirical research was carried out at the Customer Logistics department at Ericsson through: an interview with a manager in charge of the relocation and design of the office, a manager for the specified department and also five employees of this department. The empirical studies show that there was a significant change in organizational culture and that results were not always as expected. There was a loss in symbolic actions, which needed to be compensated for, a perceived reduction in spontaneous communication, and a mixed response of perceived change in social interaction.

The aim of this study was to provide an understanding of the situation of an often forgotten group in foster care, the carers? own children. Our main focus was to explore this group?s experience of foster care, their experience of participating in caring for the foster children and their possible need of support and help. Our chosen method was qualitative interviews with six adult children of foster carers, two men and four women.

Our modern society is in many ways built with and dependent on fossil fuels, which are used for energy production as well as for transporting humans and goods. Without the oil, many of the things we take for granted would not be possible. During the last century, the use of oil has increased steadily and will probably keep increasing as the world population and the economic well-being for many people increase. Since the oil is a finite resource, we will have to find other fuels that can replace it if we want to keep the same rate of development in the future as the availability of petrol fuels will decrease with rising prices as a result. Furthermore, fossil fuels have the disadvantage that they produce harmful emissions when combusted and thus affect the climate and air quality locally and globally.
Försvarsmaktens befälssystemsreform : Från Ny Befälsordning till Tvåbefälssystemet
Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera det nuvarande samt föregående befälssystem medavsikten att utröna vad i tillämpningen av det nya som skall bli annorlunda ifrån det föregående. Avsikten är även att kritiskt granska hur de båda systemen skiljer sig åt och vilka för ochnackdelar de kan tänkas föra med sig. 1983 införeds Ny Befälsordning, NBO, i Sverige vilket var ett befälssystem utan en motsvarighet i övriga världen. Detta befälssystem har blivit omdiskuterat och kritiserat vilket lett fram till att det i januari 2006 fattades ett beslut om återinförande av ettflerbefälssystem, Tvåbefälssystemet. Detta arbete vill visa vilka förändringar som gjorts så välsom att undersöka vilka fördelar respektive nackdelar detta byte kan tänkas föra med sig.
AD/HD, DAMP och Asperger syndrom. Hur upplever föräldrar och lärare att det är att få en diagnos på sitt barn?
Genom att göra en studie med fenomenografisk ansats, har jag försökt att studera hur föräldrar och lärare upplever att det är att få en neuropsykiatrisk diagnos på sitt barn. Jag har i min studie utgått från min egen förförståelse, eftersom jag är förälder till en pojke med DAMP. Efter att ha intervjuat, skrivit ner och analyserat mitt material upptäckte jag två kategorier med tillhörande underkategorier. Jag har också försökt att kortfattat förklara diagnoserna AD/HD, DAMP och Asperger syndrom. I min litteraturgenomgång har jag presenterat de som företräder det positiva med en neuropsykiatrisk diagnos och de som företräder det negativa med att få en neuropsykiatrisk diagnos.

Sweden has for years been struggling with high youth unemployment. The problem is also a hot topic of discussion among experts and politicians, often leading to different proposals to solve the problem. The government chose in 2006 to do something about youth unemployment by lowering payroll taxes for employees up to 25 years. But many experts and studies show that the effects failed to materialize.This study will try to find out if the government subsidies have given any effect on the youth unenployment either by new jobs created or by movement in the labor force. I will use a regression model with an dependent, "difference in difference" variable where the change in the number of employed young people are compared to the change in the number of employed in the subsequent age group.The results show that subsidies are not given any positive effect on the youth employment rate in relation to the subsequent age group..

As artificial intelligence (AI) has gained more influence in recruitment, both recruitment processes and the role of the recruiter are changing. This study aims to describe and analyze how recruiters translate, use, and relate to AI in their work. Through a qualitative method based on semi-structured interviews and document analysis, the study explores recruiters? experiences, attitudes, as well as perceived obstacles and opportunities regarding the use of AI in recruitment. With a theoretical foundation in translation theory, fashion, and imitation, the study examines how AI is not only followed as a trend, but also shaped and adapted locally through translation, depending on organizational identity and needs.
Det ansiktslösa samtalet : En kvalitativ studie om professionella samtal via internet
The purpose of this study was to investigate whether social counselling via chat conversations could meet the criteria for a professional conversation, and how the six social workers who were interviewed felt that it had affected the profession and the clients who are seeking their help.Communication, professionality, power, roles and regions are the key topics of this study. A hermeneutic approach has not only influenced the interviews but also the content analysis that was used to encode the results.The interviews revealed that the chat conversations was a successful tool but not entirely without difficulties. The initial contact making between the client and the social worker favours the client, since she/he remains anonymous and that was the main advantage of the method. The biggest concern however was that in the anonymity it is not possible to report cases that the social worker are obligated to. The changing of forum does not necessarily affect the professionality but due to the faceless chat conversation an entire dimension of communication disappears because the loss of body language.

Det politiska i författningspolitiken - en idéanalys av riksdagsdebatten i anknytning till Grundlagsutredningen
This essay revolves around two questions: what is the nature of politics, and what kind of political order ensures a high rate of citizen participation? By using Cantal Mouffes theory on the political this essay shows how different understandings of the nature of politics can lead to diverging views on what forms democracy should take. Two such understandings are identified; one that sees the nature of politics as characterized by conflict and power, one that sees it as a space for cooperation in search for the common good. I trace these different ideas about the political in the parliamentary debate concerning Swedish constitutional reform. I conclude that the left-of-centre parties hold a view of the political closer to the conflict-perspective, while the green party together with the liberals/conservatives lean closer to the opposite view..
En jämförelse av röntgentekniker vid njurundersökningar med datortomografi och konventionell röntgen
Den vanligaste orsaken till att röntgenläkaren byter undersökningsteknik vid en njurundersökning från konventionell röntgen till datortomografi är att läkaren misstänker annat i buken än njursten, exempelvis tumörer som inte går att visualisera lika lätt med konventionell röntgen. Syftet med den här studien är att göra en jämförelse mellan dessa röntgentekniker för att kartlägga vilka för- och nackdelar det finns med respektive metod. Samt vilka risker det finns med joniserande strålning och hur stråldosen till patienten påverkades vid byte mellan röntgenteknikerna. För att komma fram till vårt resultat har litteraturstudier gjorts samt mätningar och beräkningar av stråldoser. Även intervjuer med röntgenläkare har gjorts om deras åsikter om för- och nackdelar med respektive metod.
Kvinnor i räddningstjänsten : - En studie om kvinnors arbetssituation på den könspräglade arbetsplatsen
Abstrakt:Syftet med denna kvalitativa studie är att genom intervjuer undersöka hur kvinnor i räddningstjänsten upplever att kön konstrueras i deras vardagliga arbetssituation samt hur de förhåller sig till organisationens maskulinitetsnormer. Med hjälp av Joan Ackers teorier kring genusifierade organisationer samt hur en konstruktion av könsskillnader upprätthålls och reproduceras i det dagliga livet belyses kvinnornas arbetssituation. Genom Raewyn Connells teorier kring maskulinitet samt den hegemoniska maskuliniteten beskrivs hur den rådande genusordningen skapar ett mönster i samhället som sätter etiketter på människors beteenden, men även hur det är möjligt att bryta sig loss ur detta mönster. Det finns ett antal initiativ tagna från ansvariga myndigheter att öka jämställdheten och mångfalden i den svenska räddningstjänsten, för att organisationen på ett bättre sätt ska spegla det samhälle den verkar i. För att kunna förändra en historiskt könspräglad organisation krävs dock en förändring på djupet, en förändring av de strukturer som genomsyrar samhällets attityder till genus..
