The overarching purpose is to describe how elite soccer clubs choose to structure their sport oriented organization. This purpose leads us to questions and areas involving sport managers, casting, operational directions, education and goal setting in sport.The results in this thesis are based upon a qualitative investigation of sport managers in Swedish elite soccer clubs. To strengthen the reliability in our choice of method we will fortify it with theories that reflect methodical choice.Our conclusions in this thesis is that one can see a clear difference in how the clubs choose to structure the casting and operational directions within their organization. We have also noted that there is a clear distinguish between the levels of education amongst sport managers in Swedish elite soccer clubs..

Val av redovisningsvaluta : en undersökning av svenska och danska börsnoterade företag

Möjligheten till val av redovisningsvaluta i Sverige och Danmark har funnits sedan år 2001 respektive år 1999. En undersökning som gjordes år 1997 i Sverige visade behov för företagen att redovisa i annan relevant valuta. Hur många som idag gått över till annan valuta och varför finns det ingen undersökning på och vårt syfte med uppsatsen är att förklara företagens val av redovisningsvaluta. Vi har gjort en dokumentundersökning som omfattar företag på Stockholmsoch Köpenhamnbörsen med säte i respektive land. Institutionell teori ligger till grund för de hypoteser som bildas. Den informella påtryckningen är från intressenter vilka påverkar företagen på olika vis och olika mycket.

In many earlier investigations a recall advantage of auditory lists spoken in a single voice has been found over recall of lists spoken in two alternating voices. One explanation proposed is an organization strategy which makes recall of alternating-voice lists so difficult. The strategy implies sorting same-voice words into same-voice groups at encoding. Based on this proposition, it was assumed that voice-by-voice recall would be better than recall in order of presentation, as then the recall instruction and the organization of items in memory would be in concordance. The present experiment tested and was unable to support this hypothesis.

Persona : En metod att utveckla och införa persona i en organisation

AbstractIn this thesis we aim to extend the current theories about a concept called persona. A persona is a model of a user, mostly based on qualitative research and made with such accuracy that it to some extent can be used as a replacement of a real user in a development process and as a communicative tool. We will present a way of constructing this persona without meeting the actual users and follow up with interviews from the organization using them. This will lead to a model over the process of introducing personas as a concept in an organization,previously not familiar with the concept. The model is adapted to also work for projects and organizations where the concept is already known..

Internet dating is a relatively new phenomenon that, in using the opportunities of the internet, has taken traditional dating to a new level. The business idea is simple as such. The company provides its customers with a platform that enables interaction, leaving the value creation to the customers. A qualitative study is conducted investigating and mapping the Swedish market for Internet dating. It is researched what the characteristics of the companies are, what the Internet dating businesses in Sweden offer, what the prevailing market conditions are, and lastly what challenges lie ahead for the industry and how they can be solved.

Ekonomistyrning i ideella föreningar - en kvalitativ studie med inriktning på ideella idrottsföreningar

Syfte: Studiens syfte är att bidra till forskningen kring ekonomistyrningens innehåll och utformning och mer specifikt att bidra till en ökad förståelse kring ekonomistyrningen i ideella föreningar. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ ansats med en undersökningsmetod i form av intervjuer.Vår studie baseras på empiriskt material från strukturerade intervjuer med representanter från fyra olika ideella föreningar. Det teoretiska och empiriska materialet har sammanställts i respektive kapitel och därefter analyserats i förhållande till frågeställningen. Slutsatser: Resultatet visar att även om ekonomistyrning används i ideella föreningar utnyttjar man inte styrningens fulla potential. Avsaknaden av tydliga mål, verksamhetsplanering och strategisk planering försvårar styrandet i föreningarna. Budgeten används för att få överblick av föreningens finansiella position och ekonomisk uppföljning används för att kontrollera att budgeten följs..

Socialization and Identification of New Recruits in Knowledge Intensive Firms: A Case Study

Using the models from van Maanen and Schein (1977) and Dutton et al. (1994), we have been able to investigate the socialization process and organizational identification both from the organizational as well as the individual?s perspective. The link between these two perspectives establishes a better insight into the company?s actual socialization intentions and the individual?s identification with the firm.

It is important that organizations today focus on continuous improvements in order to face the growing competition in the world. A company needs a corporate culture that supports and encourages the employees to be creative and innovative in their work. This is necessary for the company if they are striving towards continuous learning and development within their organization.The main purpose of this paper is to investigate how the culture differences between Sweden and China affect Sandvik AB. We will also study how the company manages continuous improvements and what consequences culture differences have on their work.Our paper is a single case study at Sandvik AB in Sweden and China. We have visited Sandvik in Sandviken to conduct a series of interviews with employees of different position within the company and with dissimilar work tasks.

Knowledge Process Outsourcing; framgångsfaktorer och dess inverkan på produktivitet

Syfte: Författarna ämnar att undersöka om samband finns mellan KPO och produktivitetsförändringar. I samband med detta har vi även för avsikt att undersöka vilka motiv och faktorer som bör tas i beaktande inför en implementering av denna typ av outsourcing. Metod: I uppsatsen används ingen egen insamlad empiri, utan enbart sekundärdata. Dessa sekundärdata är både kvantitativa i form av statistik och rapporter men även kvalitativa i form av en intervju vilka är utgivna av branchföretag. Vi har studerat tidigare forskning och teorier inom ämnet vilket utgör det teoretiska ramverk som vi sedan baserar vår analys på. Slutsatser: Våra slutsats är att det i nuläget ej finns tillräckliga bevis för att KPO förbättrar ett företags produktivitet, främst för att det inte finns en bra metod att mäta produktiviteten av tjänster än.

?Developing a crucial business plan template targeted to Swedish Venture Capitalists?

Objective To study if the Swedish venture capitalists consider business plans in their screening process, and in such case, what aspects they evaluate in order to develop a targeted template for Swedish entrepreneurs. A secondary objective is to describe what other factors Swedish venture capitalists evaluate as a part of their assessment. Methodology The method, which has been used in order to test the objective, has been carried out through extensive literature and article studies, interviews, and distribution of a short and comprehensive questionnaire to a multiplicity of venture capitalists throughout Sweden. Conclusion Generally, the findings of this thesis suggest that a business plan should include elements such as a summary of important elements, a thorough market analysis, financial information, exit strategy, and the risks associated with the project. The empirical material also reveals that venture capitalists also evaluate factors such as ownership influence, the entrepreneur?s industry knowledge, product knowledge and the personal chemistry in their evaluation process.

Research within gender and leadership has often focused on leaders in male dominated work areas, but quite recently interest has arise for examine leadership in female dominated work areas. This thesis analyzes possible differences connected to theories about gender stereotypes that may exist among male and female leaders within a female dominated organization. Further, possible underlying reasons to why or why not differences between genders might be found are investigated. The research question is addressed through a single embedded case study design at the Swedish public organization Försäkringskassan. The primary focus is middle managers, and twenty qualitative interviews were conducted with leaders and co-workers at two local offices and at the organizations headquarter.

Background and problem: Previous studies have shown that liquidity can explain differences in returns in corporate shares, the company's cost of capital and the valuation of the company. Based on the effects of liquidity we developed a research question concerning how concentration of ownership effects liquidity of corporate shares the studies conducted for companies listed on Nasdaq OMX during a period with major changes on the stock market and is also investigating weather other company-specific differences can explain differences in liquidity. Purpose: The study's purpose is to study the relationship between ownership concentration and liquidity, and whether other factors might explain differences in liquidity. Method: The study is conducted with a quantitative method and it?s based on data collected from 2006-2011 for companies listed on Nasdaq OMX.
