Virtuellt ledarskap i näringslivet: Hur affärssimulering kan skapa kompetens, samsyn, och ökad ekonomisk förståelse i en organisation

The purpose of this thesis has been to explore the topic of business simulation from a theoretical foundation in social constructivism and theories concerning leadership as the management of meaning. The most important findings are that business simulation can be used for strategical leadership by management to create a common vision in the organisation members, which affects their perception of the business and the decisions and actions they make, which in turn can lead to a more efficient organisation that becomes better at meeting set goals. This can be viewed in different ways from different theoretical viewpoints: as inducing targeted changes in mental models to create changes in decision making and actions; as a secondary socialization process where the vision of management is externalized as a business simulation that is in turn internalized by the organisation members that participate in the business simulation, or as a way to frame and define the reality of the organisational members which creates a shared reference point against which a feeling of organisation and direction can emerge. In the future, business simulations may become increasingly used by organizations to create a common vision or to communicate a new decision to the organization members..

Samspelet mellan IT-avdelning och verksamhet : En studie av hur koordination påverkas av strukturer och social interaktion

Several surveys indicate that corporate leaders still consider the aligning of IT and business functions as a top management issue. The aim of this thesis is to illustrate how coordination emerges between IT and business departments and how formal structures intended to coordinate are influenced by human action. To deepen the understanding of this phenomenon we seek to analyze IT/business coordination from a perspective based on practice theory. A field study was conducted where observations and informal interviews were carried out at the IT department of a global company. The empirical analysis indicate that coordination problems between IT and business departments is in part affected by embedded factors such as different goals and perspectives on how IT is to be used in the organization or how to design IT related processes.

Finansieringsresonemang - en studie av fyra småföretag

Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur småföretag väljer mellan olika finansieringsformer. Metod: För att uppfylla uppsatsens syfte så har vi tillämpat en kvalitativ metod, där en studie genomförts genom semistrukturerade intervjuer med företagare i fyra utvalda småföretag. Slutsatser: Denna undersökning visar på att småföretag bland olika finansieringsalternativ har mest kunskap om bankfinansiering, varför metoden känns trygg och således ofta tillämpas av småföretagare. Kunskapen om andra finansieringsalternativ är bristfällig, och det anses för tid- och kostnadskrävande att skaffa sig kunskap tillräcklig djup nog för att kunna förankra finansieringsbeslut i. .

Att våga vara innovativ: En fallstudie om affärsutveckling av befintliga produkter i ett högteknologisk företag

High technology companies in Sweden spend a huge amount of money on research and product development in proportion to what they get back in earnings from their inventions. Product development has traditionally been regarded as much more important than business development. This thesis aims to point out the critical factors behind successful business development processes for high technology companies. We have chosen to make a case study of Hexagon, a highly successful and innovative company within the measurement technology business. Internal and external actors that are important for business development have been identified and interviewed in order to understand how ideas are developed and executed.

Attityder och varumärkeslojalitet inom snabbmatsbranschen

Syfte: Syfte med arbetet är att undersöka vilken attityd studenterna har till snabbmat och att därutöver klarlägga om det råder någon varumärkeslojalitet hos de svenska studenterna inom snabbmatsbranschen. Uppsatsen ska ge en ökad förståelse för vilken roll ett varumärke spelar hos de svenska studenterna och se om det kan generera kundlojalitet. Den ska också medföra ökad förståelse för vilken attityd studenter har mot den i dagsläget mycket omdebatterade snabbmaten. Förutom det nyss nämnda syftar arbetet även till att förklara vilka faktorer som verkar vara viktiga för lojalitetsskapandet bland gruppen som studeras. Resultatet av undersökningen kan ge intressant och relevant information till företag och alla andra intressenter inom snabbmatsbranschen som kan ha nytta av uppsatsen för att lättare förstå studenter som en kundgrupp men även i skapandet av olika lojalitetsprogram som kan attrahera studenter.

The objective of the master thesis is to analyze how future business administrators relate to discriminatory structures during their period of studies. Eight students studying business administration have been interviewed. The empirical material is analyzed with theories from the field of research of Critical Whiteness Studies and Feminist Organization Theory. The theories are chosen from a Situated Knowledge perspective. It turns out that the interviewed students have a conception of an ideal student who studies business administration.

Generation Y:s värderingar och attityder kring framtidens chefsroll

Syfte: Studiens syfte är att undersöka hur Generation Y:s attityd och värderingar förhåller sig mot det ledarskap som bör tillämpas av framtida chefer. Metod: Studien har en kvalitativ ansats i form av individuella intervjuer och en fokusgrupp, således har studien baserats på det empiriska material som insamlats från de fyra individuella intervjuerna och vår fokusgrupp som genomfördes. Det empiriska såväl som det teoretiska materialet har sammanställts i sitt respektive kapitel och därefter analyserats med utgångspunkt ur våra frågeställningar. Slutsatser: De senaste åren har det förekommit artiklar i fack- och dagspress om hur individer ur Generation Y ställt sig ovilliga till att acceptera chefsrollen. Vårt resultat visar att det finns ett genuint intresse för civilingenjörs- och civilekonomstudenter att faktiskt acceptera chefsrollen. Det är dock med krav på kontinuerlig feedback, coachning och möjligheten till att arbeta fritt och kreativt som gör att dessa individer är benägna att acceptera chefsrollen i företagen..

The question of whether there is soft law in international law has been as much the subject of contemporary debate as whether or not there is private legal authority in the international society. The legal boundaries seem to be blurred by the process of globalisation and the recent shift in international law. Kommunikation mellan företag - förutsättningar för bruket av sociala medier i en företag-till-företagskontext

The study examines how social media can be used in a business-to-business context. To understand the communication conditions, factors has been identified that affects the choice of communication channels for different types of information transferred between parts. Furthermore, the study investigates the underlying reasons for why certain communication channels are chosen before others, in different situations. The study results are based on qualitative semi-structured interviews with employees in a small engineering consulting company. The investigation has focused on employee communication and choice of communication tools primarily in relation to the business relationship.
