This study concerns how organizations manage various problematic areaswhen implementeing Business Intelligence and experiences from BusinessIntelligence project failures on management level. In order to highlightthese questions, we have carried out interviews with four organizationswhich have great experience in working with Business Intelligence on adaily basis.The result of the study shows that all organizations deal with difficultiesregarding cost-benefit issues and justification concerning BusinessIntelligence investments. The result also showed that the organizationsfaced difficulties with integration concerning time and cost. Documentingand securing support systems presented different attitudes between theorganizations, primary in the question about sub complements to BusinessIntelligence and in the way that they were documented. In the discourse oflegal issues and privacy the majority of the organizations chose not to storepersonal information relative to legal security demands.

The paper examines the implications of college students' purchasing behaviour when buying textbooks, how a specific corporate clientele is composed and the purchasing habits of these customers to the specific company in question. The company used as a practical example is a bookstore located on a university campus of Linköping University in Sweden. Data have been collected using a paper and pen survey of 200 students from Linköping University as well as conducting interviews with eight students and the Managing Director of the company in question.

Svensk vård i export : En empirisk studie om företag inom vård- och omsorgsbranschens internationaliseringsprocess.

The international requirement of Swedish healthcare today is high and due to a good reputation and a long history of reliable methods through extended experience. For those Swedish companies within this business, the process of internationalization is often a attractive option.This study aims to describe, analyze and translate how minor Swedish companies within the care keeping section establish their business on the international market.The study is based upon a qualitative approach and is an empirical study carried out through semi-structured interviews.The result presented in the study shows that internationalization of companies within this business does often require a lot of time and money, is based upon establishments through networks and were learning-by-doing often is used as a strategic approach for the companies penetrating a new market.The study also accounts for major entry barriers, which declares for being to some part of political nature, but mostly of cultural nature.Differences in language and culture are shown in the study to be a major entry barrier and host-countries different cultural levels are very conclusive for the success of internationalization. .

Att värdera medarbetare med Konradvariabler - Humankapitalet i årsredovisningar inom den svenska verkstadsindustrin före och efter finanskrisen 2008

Denna Kandidatuppsats intresserar sig för humankapitalets roll i svenska industriföretagens årsrapporter åren 2007 och 2011. Ämnesvalet grundar sig i faktumet att tidigare forskning kring humankapital fokuserat på tjänsteföretag, trots att vi idag lever i ett kunskapssamhälle där humankapitalets betydelse borde vara av relevans även inom verkstadsindustrin eftersom även industrin kräver alltfler högutbildade medarbetare. Uppsatsen analyserar de så kallade Konradvariablerna, det vill säga nyckeltalsmätning av humankapital. Konradvariablernas utveckling undersöks samt jämförs med kontrollvariabeln produktivitet. Resultatet visar att redovisningen av icke obligatoriska Konradvariabler har minskat mellan de två undersökningsåren, 25 % av de 16 undersökta Konradvariablerna redovisades år 2007 mot 20 % år 2011. Vidare påvisas ett starkt samband mellan förändringen av produktivitet och förändringen av de två Konradvariablerna vinst per anställd och förädlingsvärde per anställd hos de enskilda undersökningsobjekten.

AbstractThis report was undertaken at the request of the Management and maintenancedepartment of Swedish National Road Authority (Vägverket Region Sydöst) inJönköping.In 1992, the management and maintenance of Swedish roads were laid out onexternal contractors. When putting out a tender for the work, the foundation isfrom a national set of rules which are in constant change. This report is limited towinter road upkeep.The trend in the invitation for tenders is that it is moving from the moreconventional executional demands towards the less controlling demands. Thedownside of functional, less controlling demands is that it is difficult to articulatehow to measure them. The order authority therefore has to find ways to makesure to get what has been paid for.In connection to the invitation for tender of winter road upkeep for 2005, the newset of rules, ATB Vinter 2003 was deployed.The main purpose of this thesis is to see which the big changes in the set of rulesare and how these changes affect the organisation and activities of the contractor.It is also studied how the changes in execution is perceived by road users and howit affects the possibilities of the contractor to come as a newcomer to a new areaof administration.Interviews and examination of sets of rules has led to a list of a number ofchanges that the contractors feel affect their work in any sense.Views from road users that have come in to the order authority have beenscrutinized to see how they have experienced the change.

Effekten av hormonsubstitution hos äldre män med åldersrelaterad testosteronbrist: en litteraturgranskning

Background: Testosterone is the most important androgenic hormone in the male. Aging is closely associated with reduction of serum testosterone which can lead to reduced muscle mass, muscle strength, bone density, and depression. These symptoms may be counteracted by administration of testosterone. Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of hormone replacement in men with age-related testosterone deficiency. Method: We performed a systematic review using Randomised Controlled Trials (RCT).

Namely, to improve the material management so that this enables the bottleneck in the planing mill to keep a continuous  flow, and thereby minimizing the risk for production stops at LB-Hus.  Part.  1:  Identify  and  analyze the material management  connected to  the planing mill  in order to identify problem areas.Part.2:  Identify  improvement potential  in the material management connected to the planing mill.  Part.3: Suggest improvements in the material management connected to the planing mill. Theoretical framework: Process mapping, inventory accounting, balance safety, inventory availability / service levels, safety stock and reorder point, forecasting and routine descriptions.Empirical foundation:  Interviews carried out at LB-House,  illustrated with the help of process maps and a description of each process.  Conclusions:  To work with  the  suggestions  given  and  to  follow  clear procedures  in  all  processes would  result in  a more  efficient  inventory management,  it would also present  a  solution  to  the problem regarding the planing mill being a bottle neck.Suggestions for further research: Review and map the information flow from demand to production start.

Auktoriserad revisor på lika villkor - varför uppnår inte fler av de godkända kvinnliga revisorerna auktorisation?

Revisorsyrket har traditionellt sett varit ett manligt yrke. På senare år har andelen kvinnor i branschen ökat markant, men fortfarande är det flest män som blir auktoriserade. Bland nyanställda assistenter utgör kvinnor cirka 50 procent men andelen kvinnor minskar ju högre upp i hierarkin man kommer. Andelen godkända kvinnliga revisorer utgör år 2005 32% medan andelen auktoriserade kvinnor är cirka 27%. Syftet med vår kandidatuppsats är att undersöka vilka faktorer som är orsaken till att en del av de kvinnliga godkända revisorerna fortsätter att arbeta som godkända revisorer alternativt lämnar yrket innan de blivit auktoriserade. Med hjälp av befintliga teorier, framförallt genus- och karriärteorier har vi valt ut faktorer som vi tror kan påverka kvinnors karriärutveckling. Den empiriska undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av webbenkät och telefonsurvey.

The result has been validated by two different manufacturing businesses.A simple information logistic model is the result of a comparison made between theory and empery. The area of research has formerly described which results customer-involvement lead to, but have been scarce in describing how results are produced. Method: From a qualitative onset, a case-study collecting data through observations and interviews capturing customer knowledge contributions, and producer use of fetched knowledge has been conducted. Data has been analyzed using a grounded theory approach. Results have been processed in several steps in which material has been categorized and enriched continuously. Result & Conclusions: Customer-knowledge is broken down into market-knowledge, everyday-knowledge, and specialist-knowledge, which all are significant to a producer of goods.
