Monokulturell och Mångkulturell skola : Pedagogers bemötande av tvåspråkiga barn i en förskoleklass och i en förskola

Introduction: In this investigation I have illustrated, teacher treatment in a mono-cultural pre-school class and in a multicultural pre-school.Purpose: The purpose of the study was to illustrate how educators go about it when they face bilingual children to see how they work in a comparative perspective. The purpose was answered, based on four questions relating to how teachers relate to the meeting with bilingual children, the approach teachers use, which operation mode the use, if the take advantage of children's traditions, and if there is any different in the teachers? treatment of bilingual children in the mono-cultural pre-school class and in the multicultural pre-school.Theories: The theory is linked to the concepts like operation mode, inter-cultural approaches and communications.Methodology: The used methods are qualitative interviews with four pre-school, teachers where an interview guide with formulated questions and observations were used. The purpose of the working methods was to highlight teacher treatment of bilingual children to discover different approaches to meet the bilingual children.Conclusion: The study has shown that the multicultural pre-school working inter-culturally, they are taking advantage of children's home language that is lifted in the nursery and the children's background, while in the mono-cultural pre-school class, they meet bilingual children foremost to develop the Swedish language and they also show interest to the children's traditions. Teachers? treatment leads to a growing confidence in the children and knowledge for the cultural background..

Vägen till tvåspråkighet : En fallstudie om en andraspråksinlärare

Sverige är idag inte längre ett homogent land utan numera är det ett mångkulturellt land där många nationaliteter, etniciteter och religioner ska samspela. Hur kan det vara att lära sig ett andraspråk och vilka faktorer är viktiga i tillägnandet av det? Syftet med denna studie var att se hur undervisningen kan se ut i en mångkulturell grundskola där flertalet av eleverna har ett annat modersmål än svenska, med fokus på om och hur skolan arbetar med att tillvarata andraspråksinlärarnas modersmål gentemot svenskan. Tanken var även att få ta del av andra faktorer såsom hemmets, skolan och fritidsverksamhetens roll i tillägnandet av ett andraspråk. Detta för att blivande och verksamma pedagoger samt andra som är intresserade inom andraspråksinlärning ska kunna få se hur undervisning inom detta kan se ut och bedrivas.

The purpose of our essay is to investigate the trust in accountants. The method we used to investigate the trust was a survey and a questionnaire was used to collect the data. The data was gathered from three different groups, shareholders, lenders and tax authority. When we analysed the data we found out that the groups trust in accountants were neither strong nor weak. The results can be generalized on all the three groups because the observations were scattered around the means and we used random selection to collect the data.

Den långa vägen till biblioteket : En studie om förskolors läsvanor och användning av biblioteket i ett mångkulturellt område

The purpose of this study has been to examine reading habits and the use of the library by pre­school teachers in a mainly multicultural community, and also explore to what extent activities in the local library are aimed at preschoolers.The study used a sociocultural approach based on Vygotsky?s theories of learning and development and Söderbergh?s theory of early childhood language development, and was carried out during the summer 2009. The methodology used was both quantitative and qualitative, with a combination of questionnaires and interviews. Questionnaires were sent out to each section of the municipal pre­schools within the catchments area of the local public library in a multicultural suburb of Uppsala. Three short interviews were carried out with staff at the local and main library branches, as well as library staff at the County Council.The results show that, although preschool teachers find reading important in their work, many teachers read spontaneously and/or sporadically.

Förskolans arbete för barns språkutveckling : En jämförande studie mellan förskola och språkförskola

Barns språkutveckling är central i alla förskolors arbete, oavsett inriktning på verksamheten.De förskolor som betonar språket som sin profil i verksamheten och de s.k. språkförskolorna som reserverat ett antal platser i barngruppen för barn med språksvårigheter specialiserar sig dock ytterligare på språket i sin verksamhet.Syftet har varit att söka reda på huruvida språkförskolan och den vanliga förskolan skiljer sig åt i arbetet för barns språkutveckling. För att uppfylla syftet har intervjuer med pedagoger i den vanliga förskolan och språkförskolan genomförts. Genom intervjuerna söks en klarhet i hur man arbetar med språket i de olika verksamheterna samt hur pedagogerna upplever vad som är viktigt i arbetet för en positiv språkutveckling. Detta har sedan ställts i relation till läroplanen samt den forskning som finns kring barns språkutveckling och språkstimulering i förskolan.

The aim of my study is to investigate how last year students in upper secondary schoolunderstand certain mathematical concepts, in particular the unit circle and its trigonometry.I have used intentional analysis to interpret student?s actions when they solve certain tasks onthe basis of a cognitive, situated and cultural context.Interviews with four university teachers in mathematics about the unit circle, trigonometry,and mathematical understanding, serve both as background for the study and as basis for adiscussion, where I relate students understanding to what the teachers want new students toknow about these concepts when they begin university studies in mathematics.The students were arranged in three groups with three students in each group. Each group waspresented with two tasks, one in which they were asked to calculate the cosine values for onepointed, one blunt and one straight angle, each located in a separate triangle. They were alsoasked to decide whether the points (0,71; 0,71) and d (1 2 , 3 2 ) are located on the unit circleor not.My conclusion is that students mainly have an operational conception of the unit circle andtrigonometry. The lack of structural conceptions result in difficulties in seeing connectionsbetween the concepts in unfamiliar situations.

This thesis is based on a qualitative study on four different preschools in Sweden of which two are monolingual and two are multilingual. The purpose has been to study and compare literacy practices initiated by preschool teachers in mono- and multilingual preschools to examine how the preschool teachers themselves discuss on this topic.The theoretical framework of the study draws upon a socio-cultural theory based on literacy with an emergent literacy perspective in focus. The empirical material has been collected through observations and interviews. We are two authors on this study and the result is distributed in two case studies which are divided on the mono ? and multilingual preschools.

This report discusses the development of an autonomous system that can travel a distance of atleast 30 meters on two wheels. The system, the robot, detects black lines and stops if one isdetected. A remote control can be used to start and stop the robot. The robot is constructed ofmainly steel with smaller, more detailed, parts in plastic. A significant amout of time has beenused to enable the robot to balance on its own.
