In this paper my aim is to understand the trance movement from within as a collective phenomenon. I went to Turkey with my boyfriend David on a trance gathering, a festival called A Total Solar Eclipse Festival. There I did participant observations and interviews.Can Collins theory about interaction ritual be useful to raise the understanding? And is it fruitful to apply the term collective identity?The collective identity is build up by the festival as interaction ritual. It generates solidarity, emotional energy and a sense of belonging.In this paper I discuss different categories and symbols that the collective identity contains of.

Jag har genom en kvantitativ enkätundersökning tagit reda på muslimska ungdomars religiositet vid en högstadieskola. I kapitlet teoretiska perspektiv har presenterat begreppen religion och religiositet och jag ansluter mig till Daniel Andersson och Åke Sanders substantiella definition av religion. Vidare tar jag upp antalet muslimer i Sverige, muslimers religionsutövning i Sverige och muslimer i svensk skola i kapitlet teoretiska perspektiv. I analysen kopplar jag begreppsdefinitionerna till resultatet av min undersökning. Undersökningen visar att flertalet av de muslimska eleverna uppfattar sig som troende och religiösa.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka upplevelser och erfarenheter av hembesök hos klienter som är aktuella vid enheten för ekonomiskt bistånd i Uppsala kommun, samt att studera huruvida dessa erfarenheter påverkat studiens deltagares inställning till socialtjänsten som helhet. Undersökningsurvalet bestod av intervjuer med åtta klienter vid ekonomiskt bistånd i Uppsala kommun som alla varit föremål för utredning med ett eller flera hembesök. Studien genomfördes med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer. Det finns tidigare forskning inom områdena bidragsfusk och felaktiga utbetalningar samt klienters upplevelse av och position i förhållande till socialtjänsten. Det framstod ändå relevant att specifikt studera hur de hembesök som genomförs vid utredning av rätten till ekonomiskt bistånd upplevts av klienterna. Den här studien intar ett brukarfokuserat förhållningssätt till hembesök och ekonomiskt bistånd och har sin teoretiska och begreppsliga grund i Greta - Marie Skaus resonemang om makt och hjälp samt Tapio Salonens definition av olika medborgarroller. Studiens resultat visar att klienternas upplevelser av hembesök varierar kraftigt.

This is a qualitative study about Art transformation and commodification in the digital age. The study applies a rhetoric analysis with the aim to understand how art sellers, gallery owners and entrepreneurs take part in this transformation process through their websites? presentation texts ?about us?. The analysis is related to communication theories but it is also inspired by other theories such as Gramsci?s hegemony theory and Bourdieu?s cultural critical theory.

The degree project was made forZetterbergs Industri AB. The company is market leading in Europe in the heavyvehicle industry, designing and building body systems for trucks.In their line of products is the hook lift called Livab, a flexible and uniqueproduct. The hook lift is often demanded by customers because its special ability tobe able to operate in situations with low roof clearance. The main operation principleof the hook lift can be described as a truck stand, laid down.There are two main versions of the hook lift Livab, AL 26 and AL 32. These are ofdifferent load capacity, 17 and 25 metric tons of gross weight respectively.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how the social services and the police co-operate with each other when they come into contact with an individual within their realms of influence. It has been shown in a report by Fridolf (2008) that co-operation is not the aim itself but used as a mean to reach for better processes and better results. We have used qualitative interviews in the study, where three social workers and three policemen have participated from the same municipality to answer our questions. To analyze our result we have used system theory and organization theory. The result of our study shows that within this specific municipality the two agencies co-operate very well.

In this thesis I analyse civilizations in South America. I construct civilizationalnarratives through the method of emplotment, to build a historic continuity, whichI subsequently connect to the theoretical framework. The theory emphasise that,when confronted with globalization and free market capitalism, civilizationsembark on different strategies to challenge the power of transnational marketforces. I find that South America is a polarised continent, and is divergingconcerning the relationship towards the USA and free trade agreements. On thesame time the issues that concern the social movements are not being reproducedin a significant matter at state level.

The aim of this thesis was to investigate the methods used by teachers and childrens' libra­rians concerning their work with fiction at the junior school level. Based on a series of qualitative interviews and by compiling a list of short summaries of literature relevant to our thesis we wished to reflect on the manner in which the respondents see themselves in their teaching roles.We also wanted to discover what problems they had in their work and what visions they held for the future. The methods used by the teachers were mainly: reading- both aloud and individually, process-oriented writing, use of fiction in thematic studies and dramatization. The teachers' aspirations for the future included a centrally situated school library and further education in children's literature. The teachers take the needs of their pupils as a starting point and build on these needs - using many years of literary teaching experience as a foundation."Booktalks" for the children and intermediaries (teachers ...)and education in books and library systems are the childrens' librarians main literaturepedagogic methods.

Previously when I have made proposals for privately owned gardens, I have found it difficult to find strong, extensive designs and to work with room and space. Since this is the field within which I am going to work in the future I feel that I need more experience, reference material and ideas on how I, in an early stage of the working process, can work with and consider room and space. The aim of this project has therefore been to procure experience, reference material and ideas for design of a garden in relation to space. To procure experience and reference material I have, during the fall of 2008, made two incredible study tours to France and to Japan. I have interviewed the landscaping architect Maria Arborgh and studied literature. I have also used a garden outside of Gothenburg in which I have been able to try out different thoughts and ideas regarding shape that have appeared during the course of my work. My conclusions about landscaping are that you should first find the different functions in the garden. The next step is to find an overall theme or shape, use a small number of materials, build a room with sealing, walls and portals with the help of vertical elements e.g.

This master thesis is a part of the DySCAS project at ENEA. The purpose of this thesisproject is to add support for streaming media and USB support to the DySCAS demonstratorplatform.To achieve this, some of the widely used middlewares available today were studied. The onethat proved to be of most interest is CORBA. Although CORBA?s solution to streamingmedia couldn?t be used due to their use of object programming, the CORBA solution didprovide some interesting thoughts regarding how the USB devices should be handled, in thiscase their ?resource inspector? and ?trading service?.Ethernet was the chosen network to support streaming media.

The usage of visions and strategies is something that helps an organisation to create an imaginary scenario and guide them of how to realize these goals. During the years of 2006-2008 Region Gotland presented a document that was supposed to show the region's visions. The theoretical framework of this thesis is based on the stakeholder theory, Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Management Control Systems Package (MCS). Personal interviews were conducted within the organisation Region Gotland, with individuals whom are directly linked to the visions and strategies of the organisation. The purpose of this study is to clarify the concepts of vision and strategy, and what their impact is on the organisation's work on the operation level.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to examine if POC manage to keep cohort interplay between their identity and image.Theoretical framework: This paper is led from theories in area about communicating identity and image. The theories that are relevant to this paper to see the interplay between identity and image is communication theory and brand theories based on associations. From these theories we have composed a model that shows the communication led from identity throughout image in company?s with many distribution channels. It shows what associations that build identity and image and also the complication and threat that the interplay is being exposed to.Methodology: We have chosen to do this examination as a case study.

Bakgrund: Transportsektorns miljöpåverkan är stor och ett trafikslagsskifte är önskvärt för att få en mer hållbar lösning. Ett sätt att flytta över gods till järnvägen är genom intermodala transporter. Det kräver dock ett effektivt byte av transportslag på en kombiterminal. I dagsläget ligger en kombiterminal i Gullbergsvassområdet i Göteborg, men planer finns på att den ska flyttas. I en tidigare studie har möjliga nya placeringar för en terminal undersökts.Syfte: Att undersöka hur intresset bland de berörda aktörerna ser ut för ett logistikcentrum i anslutning till den nya kombiterminalen i Göteborg och koppla det till tidigare föreslagna platser.Metod: Studien är av kvalitativ karaktär och vi har använt oss av halvstrukturerade intervjuer för att göra vår undersökning.
