When forces in foundation piles are calculated according to classic theory, thefoundation are assumed to be infinitely rigid which means that the foundation will notbend. High buildings need their whole width to be stable and use the ground floorwall as a foundation. But when, for example windows are needed in the ground floorwall, the stiffness of the foundation decreases which change the forces in the piles. Inthis report the difference of pile forces versus classic theory has been analyzed, and ifpile forces can be calculated as in classic theory. Further on, the effects of the wallmovement were analysed and how the buildings crack safety would be affected by themovement at the ground floor.

Texten kommer sen processas och sorteras för att få ut nödvändig data som sen kan sparas undan i en databas. Färdiga Algoritmer och OCR-motorer har utvärderats och implementerats i applikationen direkt genom så kallade C-Bibliotek. Dessa gör det möjligt att utan större problem vidareutveckla applikationen för iOS eller Windows Phone.Projektet och Android-applikationen visar på möjligheterna att använda färdiga C-bibliotek samt telefoners kamera för att enkelt sålla ut och spara undan den informationen som är relevant för konsumentens del..

Haptoglobin is an acute phase protein with important biological role because of its capacity to bind to haemoglobin. Haptoglobin exists in three major genetic polymorphism types: Hp1-1, Hp2-1 and Hp2-2, the distribution of which has been associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), an asymptomatic aortic disease common among men older than 65 years.    Five different electrophoretic methods were tested according to their ability to separate the haptoglobin phenotypes. The detection was based on a produced hemolysate of blood in which haemoglobin binds to haptoglobin thereby forming a complex that can be detected by specific haemoglobin staining using TMB-dihydrochloride and hydro peroxide as substrate resulting in an azure-green color of the bands. Samples from 15 patients who had suffered surgery for not broken AAA, that is more than5.0 cmaortic diameter, and 15 samples from matched controls were analyzed.    Among the five tested electrophoretic methods best migration and separation was seen on the pre-cast agarosgel Hydragel HR on the instrument Hydrasys. The other four methods gave less successful results.

Background: During the 2000s, there has been an increased interest in studying business management and strategy implementation with customer focus in public organisations. To achieve business goals it is important to continuously work with strategies to meet customerdemands for increased efficiency and service. Purpose: The aim of the essay is to examine how to work on strategy implementation in a municipal real estate company from a management perspective in order to achieve overall goals. Method: The study?s methodology is a case study based on qualitative telephone interviews that were conducted with representatives in managerial positions from various levels of the company. The choice of the qualitative data was considered relevant in relation to the chosen topic of the thesis. The empirical data was then compared to the theoretical framework of the thesis. Results: Strategies guide the company to achieve the overall goals, which are later on broken down into operational targets.

Målet med vårt examensarbete har varit att på uppdrag från United Computer Systems skapa ett program som kopplar samman Visma SPCS och MS Outlook. Anledningen till detta program har varit att utöka den begränsade kontakthanteringen som finns i Visma SPCS. I större affärssystem blir det allt vanligare att så kallade CRM system integreras. Dock saknas oftast bra kontakthantering i lösningar som riktar sig till mindre företag. Genom att koppla samman SPCS med Outlook, ger det användaren möjligheter att lagra mer djupgående information om kunder, deras kontaktpersoner och leveransadresser.Programmet har utformats i Borland Delphi och vi beskriver i denna rapport hur vi gått till väga för att skapa ett program som uppfyller vår uppdragsgivares önskemål vad gäller användbarhet och användarvänlighet.Vi beskriver även några av de grundläggande begreppen för vårt projekt, så som Screen scraping och API för SPCS och Windows..

I denna uppsats kommer vi dokumentera vidareutvecklingen av Softwerk AB?s Content Management System kallat AppCMS. I dagsläget innefattar AppCMS plattformarna iOS, Android och Windows Phone. Kunderna till Softwerk AB har dock uttryckt ett behov av att även kunna nå ut till sina användare med en webbaserad samt en utskrivningsbar lösning. AppCMS?s exportformat har därför analyserats för att undersöka möjligheten till att återanvända det existerande exportformatet från AppCMS  även för dessa plattformarna.

Since the dawn of mankind, it has been considered that music has had a clear function about how individuals grasp their inner emotions to reach the transcendent and comprehend "Self". The aim of this thesis is to gain greater understanding as to how a group of young catechists in the Swedish Lutheran Church feel, interpret and construct their identities through popular music. An exploration as to how this specific group perceives concepts such as the Bible, church, spirituality, and religion was undertaken. The theory forming the basis of this essay is derived from a sociological perspective of postmodernism.

För att underlätta vidareutvecklingen av dagens programvara har jag fortsatt att utveckla den simuleringsmiljö som redan finns på företaget idag för en av produkterna som används vid mjölkning. Simuleringsmiljön skall underlätta utvecklingen av större system för större gårdar. Det som systemet hjälper till med är just uppsättningen av en gård med ett visst antal kor och ett visst antal mjölkningsmaskiner. Den tidigare miljön var skriven i MFC men för att möta morgondagens krav har denna blivit omskriven till C# .NET med hjälp av Windows Forms. Det program jag skrev först använde sig av C++/CLI vilket var väldigt krångligt att använda, det resulterade i att jag helt och hållet gick över till C# .NET.

Med anledning av den snabbt växande populariteten för mobila enheter såsom iPad/iPhone, Android och Windows Phone 7 öppnas nya möjligheter för affärsverksamheten. Ett exempel är mobil åtkomst till Microsoft SharePoint, en webbplattform som erbjuder en bred uppsättning verktyg för bland annat dokumenthantering och projektsamarbete. Den här studien har utvärderat ett antal lösningar för att tillgängliggöra SharePoint på mobila enheter. Utvärderingen har fokuserat på de två huvudaspekterna användarvänlighet och säkerhet, eftersom studien utfördes på ett företag med omfattande hantering av sekretessbelagda filer. Lösningarna i studien har delvis testats via mobila enheter och delvis endast undersökts genom dokumentation på grund av brist på möjlighet till driftsättning av de mer avancerade lösningarna.

The purpose of our study is to find out if insiders in Sweden generate abnormal earnings through insider trades. We want to pinpoint the cause for abnormal earnings by dividing transactions after company market value, size of the trade and type of insider. A quantitative approach using the market model have been used. We have conducted an event study over two short term event windows. We conclude that insiders in Sweden generate positive abnormal earnings for sales and negative for purchases in our ?long? event window.

This essay focuses on the pictures in mathematics books for elementary school. The purpose was to see if images in mathematics books for elementary school show traditional gender roles.The aim of the essay has been broken down into following research questions:Vilka färger förknippar de olika matematikböckerna till pojkar/män respektive flickor/kvinnor?How many times were girls/women and boys/men illustrated in the mathematics books?What behavior is associated with masculinity and femininity?Which colours are associated with boys/men and girls/women in the mathematics books?I used a semiotic image analysis method to study the pictures presented in the mathematics books. The theories in this essay were used to see how society makes girls become girls and boys become boys and in what ways the genders are portrayed in relation to each other. In addition, the theories include the question of whether a specific colour is given to a specific gender? The analysis evidently confirmed that the images in the mathematics books demonstrated traditional gender roles.

This report describes the development and implementation of a system for transmitting digital information at high speeds from a miniaturized submersible developed by the Ångström Space Technology Centre at Uppsala University. For instance, the vehicle shall transmit image data ? even stream live video - through an optical fibre to a monitor in a ground station. Hence, the system shall be used both to convert the image data to make it transmittable, and to recreate it at the receiver.The work includes a pre-study of the programming language and the technology used. A concept for the solution is presented together with main components later broken down into internal functions.

Tidigare studier har visat en korrelation mellan muskelgrupper, särskilt gällande styrka mellan olika muskelgrupper i samma extremitet. Syftet med den här studien var att se om maximal isokinetisk muskelstyrka i låret korrelerar med maximal isometrisk handgreppstyrka hos friska individer >60 år. Exklusionskriterier var muskuloskeletala besvär, hjärt? kärlsjukdom, KOL, RA, Gonartros eller pågående infektion. Isokinetisk benstyrka mättes på 25 försökspersoner >60 år i Biodex System 3 och isometrisk handgreppstyrka mättes med Grip-D.

Personer med vissa kognitiva funktionsnedsättningar har ibland svårt att använda en vanlig webbläsare. Detta gör internet mindre tillgängligt för denna grupp. Med hjälp av en anpassad webbläsare med förenklat gränssnitt och funktionalitet finns förhoppning om att användarvänlighetsbarriärer för internetanvändning hos dessa personer skall minska och att användningen skall kunna vara mer självständig.Som teknisk målplattform används Microsoft Windows med Internet Explorer och utvecklingen genomfördes inom .NET med C#. Ett mål med den tekniska implementationen var att till så stor del som möjligt utnyttja redan installerad programvara på målsystemen och därmed minimera behovet av programuppdateringar, vilket skulle göra programmet mer framtidssäkert, samt minimera mängden administration av programmet. Tester genomförda på Västmanlands läns landstings Datatek på Handikappcentrum i Västerås gav positivt resultat.  Användarna kunde fokusera på de webbsidor de besökte och personalen kunde snabbt ställa in programmet för användaren..
