The aim with this study was to investigate mortality in older respectively younger beech stands (Fagus sylvatica), the different types of dead wood in the forest and the availability of coarse woody debris (CWD). The research was carried out in previously managed and seminatural stands in Biskopstorp and Frodeparken, located north of Halinstad in Halland,Sweden. Data were collected from 22 stands with at least 50 % beech and with a minimum age of 5 1 years, ranging in size from 0,67 to 19,9 ha. A transect was placed in each stand, in which the diaineter on both dead and living trees with a minimum diameter of 50 mm was recorded. On seven to 13 dead trees, depending on the size of each stand, decomposition stage, primary and secondary cause of death, amount of fungi and the type of the dead wood was noted.

Bakgrund: Bröstcancer utgör idag den vanligaste cancerformen bland kvinnor i Sverige och resterande världen. När kvinnor i fertil ålder insjuknar i bröstcancer är det viktigt för vårdgivaren att försöka finna förståelse för det komplexa skede i livet hon befinner sig i. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva fertila kvinnors erfarenheter i mötet med sjukvården efter en bröstcancerdiagnos. Metod: En kvalitativ innehållsanalys har genomförts, baserad på sex bloggar. Den insamlade datan bestod av bloggar författade av fertila kvinnor med bröstcancer.

Bakgrund:Bröstcancer är den vanligaste cancerformen som drabbar kvinnor i Sverige, då omkring 7000 diagnostiseras varje år. Att få en sådan diagnos kan för många yttra sig väldigt chockartat. För att kunna hantera situationen finns det en rad olika faser individen måste ta sig igenom, detta görs med hjälp av olika copingstrategier. Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka kvinnors olika copingstrategier vid bröstcancer. Metod: En litteraturstudie genomfördes där 14 empiriska studier användes.

With the increasing costs in concentrate the importance in producing ensilage with a high quality is becoming more and more important. To succeed with this goal it is of importance not only to harvest in the right period, but also to be able to store the ensilage without a decrease in quality and nutrional values. To maintain a good ensilage the covering of the ensilage must be carefully made. An unsuccessful covering causes mould to grow in the ensilage, which both increases the work load and also increases the amount of feed which is wasted. A bigger amount of spoiled feed also increases the risk of feeding spoiled feed to the cattle.

The objective of this thesis was to get more knowledge about how to design a dairy farm reducing the working hours and the work tasks whit high work load. I will try to reduce the working hours and the tasks whit high work load on my own farm witch I am about inherit. Today, the old stanchion barn has room for about 60 cows and 74 young cattle and need two men to run it every day. The total acre is 188 hectare, 100 hectare forest, 65 hectare farmlands and 23 hectare natural pasture. I have studied two solutions. In the first solution, I will use my old barn for young cattle and build a new barn for the cows.

Today a trend can be seen towards fewer dairy farms and increasing number of cows per farm. Larger farms set a higher demand of more labour efficient milking systems. The time to enter and exit milking rotary platforms is crucial to maintain a high cow throughput. This study is a project initiated by DeLaval in order to evaluate the cow throughput and cow behaviour during entry and exit in two types of parallel external rotaries with different bail designs. The two rotaries compared were DeLaval parallel rotary PR2100 and PR3100HD.

Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är den mest förekommande cancerformen hos kvinnor både i utvecklings- och industriländer. Den vanligaste behandlingen är operation, oftast används bröstbevarande kirurgi. När tumören är för omfattande måste hela bröstet opereras bort, vilket kallas för mastektomi. Kvinnans bröst är viktigt för att hon ska känna sig fullvärdig som kvinna och majoriteten av de som genomgått en mastektomi drabbas av förändrad identitet, sämre självförtroende och självkänsla. Syfte: Att beskriva erfarenheter och hantering av mastektomi hos kvinnor i samband med bröstcancer.

Automatic trimmerhead is an examination project for making an automatic trimmerhead for grass trimmers with the user and functionality in focus. Our perception is that a happy user is a user who can pick up his or her trimmer, use it and put it back to its place when the job is done. It should not be necessary to interrupt work and perform maintenance on the machine just to make it work as promised.The project has been made in collaboration with the company Husqvarna, which is one of the biggest actors dealing with garden machinery on the market. Together we determined the project goal, ?To invent, construct and test a brand new concept for how an automatic trimmerhead can look and function?.At this day there are several different automatic trimmerheads on the market, both semi and fully automatic.

The high feeding value of red clover makes it into an important species in Swedish agriculture. There are three different maturity types grown in Sweden, early, medium late and late. The time for heading, regrowth and winter hardiness is affected by the maturity type, but there can also be other factors that are affected by the maturity type, for instance fiber content. In a greenhouse experiment three red clover varieties of different maturity types were compared; early Titus, middle late SW Nancy and late SW Torun. The features compared were fiber content and differences in development rates.

Syftet var att beskriva omvårdnaden kring nyfödda barns tillmatning på svenska BB-avdelningar, om föreskrifter följdes och om hänsyn togs till eventuell allergihereditet. Metod: Deskriptiv tvärsnittsstudie med kvantitativ ansats Resultat: Av alla nyfödda barn vid 26 barnkliniker i Sverige vecka 26 år 2009 (n=849) tillmatades 18 % . Moderns bröstmjölk gavs till 16% medan 78 % tillmatades med komjölksbaserad modersmjölksersättning. Den vanligaste orsaken till tillmatning av ersättning var att mammans egen mjölkproduktion inte hade kommit igång (24 %). Andra vanligt förekommande anledningar till tillmatning var lågt blodsocker (18 %) samt sugproblem hos barnen (16 %).

BackgroundWhen women have breast pain this usually is not associated with myocardial infarction, which results in that they get less attention and wrong treatment. The nurse has an important role in informing and educating patients and families during hospitalization, which is usually short. Continuous training, written information and repetition for patient and family throughout the hospital stay are of considerable importance to clarify that the patient understands and to reduce the anxiety of being discharged.AimThe aim is to describe nurses' experiences of caring for older women with myocardial infarction.MethodsA qualitative method was used. The collection of data was done by six interviews with nurses in geriatric care and elderly care. Dataset has been processed based on a content analysis and divided into subcategories and main categories using meaningful units.ResultsNot having knowledge of older women with myocardial infarction was expressed as frustrating and nurses described how they were afraid to ask their colleagues.

To manage the industry?s need of wood assortments in a optimal and cost effective way the forest companies need to have knowledge of the actual standing volume and the yield of the planned clear cuts. The mean volume of the trunk is also important since it is important for the contractors prices. Today the total volume are estimated either with Näslund (1940) or Brandels (1990) functions of volumes, and the yield is estimated with Rune Ollas (1980) function for trunks and stands. The purpose of this study has been to answer the following questions: How good is the yield forecast with data collected with currently used methods? How well can the yield forecasts became with data collected according to the instructions? How well can the yield forecast be with data collected according to the instruction and calculated with the program Aptan for theoretical bucking? The study has been initiated and financed by SCA Skog AB.The material consisted of a number of randomly selected objects ready for clear cut.

By our employer Camatec Industriteknik AB have we been given the assignment to continue with the previous work ?Design of strip feeder?. Our goal with this work is to come up with a design basis for a strip feeder.Functionally a strip feeder consists of two rollers which with the aid of the friction between the strip and the coating on the roller create a strip force that pulls the strip through the working progress.Demands on this project:? 10 ? 600 mm in strip width and 0,1-1 mm in strip thickness.? Minimum 30m/min in production speed.? A maximum strip force on 30-40 kN.? The cost of the strip feeder?s components is to be considered of economy and quality.The need of a strip feeder occurs when the coil doesn?t manage to feed or pull the strip before or after a working process. The strip can otherwise be exposed by a permanent yield deformation or a change in the strip material if it?s pulled trough the working process only by the on ? and of-coils.

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka bröstcancerpatienters tillfredsställelse med vården under utredning av sin sjukdom samt att utforska vilka förbättringsbehov av vården patienterna uppgav. Metod: Samtliga patienter som rapporterades till Kvalitetsregistret för bröstcancer i Uppsala- Örebroregionen under 2007-2008 tillfrågades om deltagande i en enkätstudie. Undersökningsgruppen bestod av 165 kvinnor som i enkäten kommenterat den utredande vården. Enkätsvaren analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys enligt Graneheim och Lundmans metod. Resultat: Bröstcancerpatienternas kommentarer gällde kategorierna organisation, kompetens, bemötande, information och generellt.

Internationell forskning visar att kvinnor som behandlats med bröstbevarande kirurgi har bättre kroppsuppfattning och sexuell aktivitet i jämförelse med kvinnor som behandlats med mastektomi. Få studier är gjorda i Sverige rörande sexualitet och kroppsuppfattning med ett tidsperspektiv inom det första året efter ingrepp.Syfte: Studien avsåg att undersöka skillnader av kroppsuppfattning och sexualitet över tid bland kvinnor som genomgått bröstbevarande kirurgi i jämförelse med kvinnor som behandlats med mastektomi.Metod: En kvantitativ studiedesign med en longitudinell utformning användes. Undersökningsgruppen var kvinnor diagnostiserade med bröstcancer som behandlats med bröstbevarande kirurgi eller mastektomi på tre sjukhus i mellersta Sverige.
