Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the care providers' experiences in enabling communionship and solitude in daily living for elderly living in old age homes in a South African context. Method: This study was done using a qualitative analysing method, with empirical data obtained from nursing staff of elderly. The study was phenomenological which aims at deepen the understanding of human experiences as phenomenon. The data was collected by using a groupinterview which included five informants from an old age home in Pretoria. The analysis included two steps; Naive reading and structural analysis in order to transform the individual elucidations into an abstract which had no individual touch.

The aim of this study is to examine the experienced life situations of siblings growing up with a brother or a sister diagnosed with autism. The study is qualitative and therefore suitable to the purpose of studying the informants´ own experiences. Three women and one man, aged between 18-24 years, were interviewed through chatt programs on the Internet. The constituted perspective is phenomenological and the analysis were made by identifying meaning units in the text from the interviews. The theory used to interpret the result is systems theory and more specifically the structual family therapy by Salvador Minuchin.

Bakgrund: Cancer är en folksjukdom i Sverige som påverkar patientens livssituation på flera olika sätt. Att leva i ett palliativt skede innebär att leva nära döden, och då livstillvaron blir förändrad och begränsad både fysiskt, psykiskt och socialt. Det är betydelsefullt att patienternas självbestämmande respekteras och efterföljs. Stöd och god kommunikation utgör en betydelsefull del i vårdandet.Syfte: Syftet med studien var att belysa cancerpatienter i ett palliativt skedes upplevelser av bemötande från vårdpersonal. Metod: En litteraturöversikt utfördes och baserades på åtta vetenskapliga originalartiklar som analyserades och kvalitetsgranskades utifrån Graneheims och Lundmans (2004) kvalitativa innehållsanalys.Resultat: I studiens resultat framkom fyra kategorier som beskrev vårdpersonalens bemötande av palliativa cancerpatienter.

Bakgrund. Varje år insjuknar ett stort antal människor i cancer i Sverige och det innebär att var tredje person någon gång under sin livstid kommer att få diagnosen cancer. Att drabbas av cancer är en omvälvande upplevelse i människors liv. Patienter upplever ofta rädsla och ångest inför sjukdomen och dess behandlingar. Ur ett omvårdnadsperspektiv är det viktigt att sjukvårdspersonal har en god förståelse och kunskap för hur patienterna upplever sjukdomen för att kunna ge dem en god omvårdnad.

This is a qualitative study aiming to examine peoples? experiences when retiring. In that purpose a criteria based sample has been used, participants have been asked in that they fulfilled the criteria?s to be a retiree within the age of 65 to 71 years of age. The reason of the age criteria was that the experiences should not be so far away in time.

Life in addiction and what it is like to quitA qualitative study based on men and womens emotional experienses and social relationshipsWomen in addiction are faced by harder social attitudes then men, which could be an explanation to the fact that, in comparison to men, less women are seen in addiction. That women experience stronger feelings of shame makes them inclined to hide their addiction and this in turn can increase the feeling of shame. The objective of this essay was to, with a starting-point in theory and essential concepts as social relationships and emotions, gain knowledge about emotional experiences and momentous events for men and women during time in addiction and when quitting. More specifically, the aim of the study was to answer the following questions; What is life in addiction and quitting, regarding social relationships and emotional experiences as pride and shame in interaction with people who are important to the individual, like? Do the situations women are in, and the experiences they have, differ from those of men? Do these social relationships and emotional experiences influence the addition and the quitting? In the study six persons have been interviewed, three men and three women who are all quitting, or trying to quit, their drug and/or alcohol addiction.

Syftet med undersökningen var att se hur Stureplangruppen genom att använda gamla och skapa nya myter behöll en högklassig image samtidigt som gruppen expanderade verksamheten utanför de mest exklusiva adresserna runt Stureplan. Frågeställningarna jag ville besvara var således hur Stureplansgruppens varumärke såg ut, vilka metoder Stureplansgruppen använde för att stärka sitt varumärke med hjälp av bilder på Stureplan.se, hur uppfattades varumärket utifrån olika inställningar till bildernas budskap samt hur varumärket skulle kunna förbättras?  Teorierna jag använde var PR, Reklam och varumärkesteorier då jag ansåg att dessa var bra teorier för att se hur Stureplansgruppen själv resonerade kring sitt imageskapande.  Metoderna bestod av semiotisk bildanalys enligt Barthes modell. Jag ansåg att det var en relevant teori för att hitta de dolda meningarna, myterna, i bilderna jag analyserade.

AbstraktSyfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien är att belysa familjens upplevelser av palliativ omvårdnad av barn med cancer.Bakgrund: Varje år får cirka 300 svenska barn och ungdomar en cancerdiagnos. En fjärdedel dör av sin sjukdom. Barnets sjukdom påverkar föräldrarnas roller, inbördes och mot barnen och även syskon blir åsidosatta. Vetskapen om att det inte går att bota barnet upplevs för föräldrarna som oerhört stressande, samtidigt som de vill leva ett så normalt liv som möjligt.Metod: Metoden som användes var en systematisk litteraturstudie. Arton vetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades, vilka var publicerade mellan åren 1997-2007.Resultat: Resultatet visar att informationen kring barnets behandling och kommande död ansåg föräldrarna vara viktig för att vården skulle vara av god kvalitet.

The purpose of this study was to investigate hove some suburban areas image is shown to the public in the media coverage of suburban areas, and this is why I in this paper want to look more closely at the image of Tensta in the news media and how people in Tensta perceive themselves. News media has a very important role in the creation of human worldview. It influences our own identity and affects what a person believes is the difference in us and them. In the post-colonial theory, identity creation is a central role in philosophy, us and them. Based on the above purpose, I formulated an overall main question that this essay should answer.

The aim of the study is to investigate how a teacher and a special education teacher cooperate to prevent a pupil with reading difficulties from ending up in the vicious circle of the Matthew effect, and to find out how a pupil with reading difficulties experiences his or her reading situation. This case study is based on a phenomenological perspective whereby qualitative interviews illuminate a commonly occurring problem in today?s schools. Interviews were conducted with a teacher, a special education teacher, and a pupil in grade 1, in order to cover everyone?s perspective in this situation.

Different institutional and culture contexts are argued to create differences in fathers practices and attitudes toward fatherhood. By in-depth interviews with swedish and spanish fathers, this Bachelor thesis aims to describe fathers experiences and attitudes toward fatherhood and how they relate to the institutional and culture context. The selection of swedish and spanish fathers aims to illustrate differences and similarities in two welfaremodels that differ. The main difference was how social policy provoces differences in the distribution between paid and non-paid work, where the spanish fathers remain as the main breadwinner. Differences also appeared in attitudes toward formal care.

Background: Sweden has become a society with a multicultural population. Many children start preschools with different backgrounds and experiences. Teachers today face the task of meet those children in the best way. Södertörn University has a special profile on their teacher education, the intercultural profile.Aims: My report focuses on teachers who have been working in preschools for about one to two years after graduating from the intercultural education at Södertörn University. The report aims at finding out more about their experiences and thoughts about the intercultural approach after having worked in the Swedish preschool with a special focus on the intersectional perspective on cultural phenomena class, gender and ethnicity.

 The purpose of this thesis was to explore how the ideological self-image of the biggest Swedish governmental party, Moderaterna, has developed between 1993 and 2011. The second purpose was to compare this development on a fundamental ideological level, with development on the operative ideological level. This was to be made by qualitative analysis of the party?s ideological programs and election manifestos. Hopefully this would expose a pattern of the party?s ideological development. The findings of this thesis however, suggested that while the ideology on the fundamental level had radically changed, the ideology on the operative level has been characterized by continuity.
