Ett förlorat kulturarv? : Digitala personarkiv ? problem, lösningar och framtid
This thesis has focused on digital born personal archives; how they are different from analog paper archives and possible ways to overbridge these differences. It is also studied how archivists and librarians are dealing with digital archives, what they think about new proactive solutions when collecting private papers and collections and positive and negative effects with this way to work. The thesis is delimitated to only private collections and digital created material. It do not concern digitized material or electronic documents in government or business organizations.The challenges in digital curation and administration are discussed in aspect of the Records Continuum Model. The empirical material is also put in relation to research in Personal Information Management and identity theory.
Chemotherapy and Cancer - childrens experiences
With good knowledge about the disease and the treatment, the fear and worry of children and parents can be reduced. Children may be helped by painting to express their experiences. In order to have a good care, the care-personnel need to see and understand what the children need. It is important to live an as regular life as possible during the disease and its treatment. The aim of this study was to elucidate how children experience chemotherapy in conection with their cancer disease.
UPPBYGGNADEN AV DET DIGITALA BIBLIOTEKET PÅ ISLAND
Close to the city center of Reykjavik lies the combined national- and university library of Iceland. Usually, these two types of institutions are separated. The purpose of this essay is to investigate how the library in fact selects the new digital material to offer the users in Iceland, and if the combined mission creates any problems or conflicts.The investigation examines the planning and the content of the digital library, what user groups are addressed and how the organisation is held together despite the different missions. If cultural context in Iceland makes a difference for what is selected and offered to the users is also discussed.Six informants in strategic library positions dealing with the digital national- or university library, were interviewed. The answers have been analysed in light of the library&information literature on building and maintaining digital library collections and organizational and marketing theory.The main result of the study is that the informants do not see a conflict between the missions of the organisation, although traces of a struggle were found in some areas.

Könsskillnader i betyg, Ronneby kommun -Ett implementeringsproblem?
This study was carried out in Ronneby municipality during May 2006. I chose to compare three senior schools with regards to the implementation of objective orientated directives based on the teachers understanding of the task, motivation, resources allocated and their significance for the disparity between boys? and girls? grades.I carried out nine in-depth interviews: three at each senior school. From the interviews it emerged that teachers perceive objectives differently from parents and students. Teachers claim that they understand the directives but say that they lack the resources.

The aim with this essay is to look into what literature has been published in 2006 and 2007 for boys between the ages of twelve and sixteen in order to analyse six of the titles. Our two main questions are as follows:?How is the teenage boy depicted in six of these books? - To what extent is the teenage boy depicted in a gender stereotypical way?.We chose the titles for analysis based on our mapping of the published literature and took into account the authors? gender and age as well as the main themes of the books. As theoretical base for our analysis we used Marias Nikolajeva?s table of gender stereotypes in literature.

En kvalitativ studie om det sociala nätverkets betydelse för ensamkommande barnKeywords: unaccompanied refugee children, social network, risk and resilience, social work.Authors: Karin Bodå och Leila Silva The main purpose of this study is to illuminate and describe the importance of having a social network for unaccompanied refugee children in Sweden. Using qualitative interviews this study looks at their possibilities to create a social network in Sweden and how their network helps them to solve problems. Knowledge of this subject is important for social workers, in order to be able to encourage and help unaccompanied refugee children to build a social network. The base for our analysis is attachment theory, coping theory, social network theory, KASAM theory, risk and resilience theory, system theory are used to give deeper insight into experiences of four unaccompanied refugee boys.

This thesis examines source criticism and critical thinking among upper secondary school students in social science in three different schools in Sweden. Our particular focus lies in investigating the student's critical thinking skills and evaluation of digital sources when they work independently with different projects. How do students value and sort the information they find? We looked furthermore at what factors that may influence students in their evaluation of sources. Moreover, the purpose of this thesis to investigate how the student's critical thinking skills can be used as tools to become more information literate in a learning context.

Det här examensarbetet består av två delar som syftar till att generera en metod för hur man marknadsför dataspel till en målgrupp av tjejer mellan 16-18 år. Den reflekterande texten visar den teoretiska grunden för metoden, och verksdelen, en marknadsplan för ett fiktivt actionspel, exemplifierar den.Marknadsföringen behöver rikta sig till målgruppen om den skall kunna locka fler tjejer till att spela. Att inkludera dataspel i befintliga normer, som t.ex. att actionspel är spel som spelas tillsammans med vänner, samt visa avatarer målgruppen kan identfiera sig med, är två viktiga aspekter för en lyckad marknadsföring.Om tjejerna fångas upp när de enligt statistiken skulle sluta spela dataspel, finns det potential att bredda målgruppen för fler dataspelsgenrer. Information and communication technology (ICT) is an important part of society. Learning occurs in all contexts and many students already use various digital media in their leisure time. This article, based on a case study in a One-to-One school. It describes how teachers perceive that their teaching is influenced when their pupils get a laptop. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the focus on one-to-one influence teachers' work in the classroom.
Digital kompetens : för individens frigörelse eller för marknadens behov?
Eskilstuna Folkhögskola is located in Munktellstaden in Eskilstuna. The school has two separate buildings with entrances that are difficult to find. By having two separate buildings, and to be in an area where there are rules and guidelines for the area's environment, makes it difficult to guide visitors to the school premises.The purpose of my research was to examine how to guide visitors to the school, and how to increase understanding that the school's various buildings are connected.Through practices such as site analysis, interviews, I found that the guidelines are not adapted to the current situation that is established in the district.Through theory and empirical material I have produced a design proposal to facilitate Wayfinding to Eskilstuna Folkhögskola. Gymnasieelevers digitala (o)kompetens inom ordbehandling
Allt fler skolor satsar på digitalisering och köper in egna datorer till eleverna. I samband med detta ställs det krav på eleverna att de skall kunna hantera tekniken och vara digitalt komp-etenta. Digital kompetens ses som en viktig del för elever att besitta och för att fungera i vårt samhällsliv. Detta är dock ingenting som skolan vi studerat främjar då de inte bidrar till en ökad digital kompetens hos eleverna. Det finns forskare som däremot anser att det är i skolan som eleverna bör få sin digitala kompetens.

The aim of this thesis is to make a contribution to the field of design oriented theory, regarding young children and their way to digital competence. My research question is: How can a preschool with a certain pedagogical ICT-design give the children affordances for media play and for developing a digital competence?The European Parliament points out digital literacy as one of the Key Competences for life long learning. A digital competence is built on basic ICT (Information and Communication technology) skills. Skills you can develop any time during life, weather you are young or old.

Utbildning och träning av rökdykning inom räddningtjänsten är idag både dyrt ochtidskrävande. Vid praktisk träning måste räddningstjänsten bege sig ut till befintligaövningsområden och ta med sig en stor mängd utrustning: luftpaket, skyddskläder, radio etc. Detta gör det till ett omfattande och kostsamt moment. Detta öppnar tankebanor för alternativ och komplement till befintlig utbildning och träning.Serious games finns idag i många former och är ett utbildnings och rekryteringsredskap som bygger på datorstödd inlärning. Ett inkluderande landskap? : etniska relationer och erfarenheter på odlingslotter
The aim for this essay is to adress questions concering ethnic and cultural experiences and in what way it affects our experience of being in different landscapes. By studying how ethnic experiences are expressed in the landscape and the ongoing process of interaction between them, this essay sets out to discuss the significance of cultural aspects in the landscape. The perspective of this essay is that both landscape and ethnicity can be viewed as something constructed which is shaped and maintained by ongoing interactions in the landscape.While examples are taken from different parts of the western world, the main focus is to study how these experiences take place and are being negotiatiated in a particular landscape, an allotment area outside Malmö, Sweden.In the first part it is shown how the landscape can be read as a landscape of powerrelations and how these relations are related to ethnic experiences.In the next chapter the discussion concerns whether we can talk about different ?ethnic landscapes?. Research suggest that the use and perception of the landscape differs among ethnic groups.
