Urbanisering och jordbruk har alltid varit sammankopplat, och urbanisering skulle inte varit möjlig utan jordbruk. Uppsatsen undersöker marknaden för åkermark i storstadsregion som Stor-Malmö. Den första frågeställningen är i vilken utsträckning som avkastningsvärden kan förklara åkermarkspriserna i en storstadsregion som Stor-Malmö. Därefter studeras det om åkermarksprisernas kan relateras med andra faktorer som inte är relaterade till åkermarkens avkastningsvärden. Studien har utifrån beräkningar av korrelation mellan tillgänglig prisstatistik nått fram till några intressanta resultat. Stor-Malmö utgör en betydande del av Sveriges mest bördiga odlingsregion Götalands södra slättbygder.

Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are ubiquitous in the environment today and they have been detected even in remote areas such as the Arctic. PFASs can be transported by the atmosphere and ocean currents but the transport mechanism is not fully understood. PFASs may be harmful to organisms due to their persistence in the environment, bio-accumulation potential and toxicity. Studies have shown that PFASs can cause adverse effects on the metabolism as well as the endocrine- and reproduction systems in organisms. In this study, PFASs were investigated in glaucous gull (Larus hyperboreus) (n=5) and black guillemot (Cepphus grylle) (n=4) from Svalbard.

There are records of lowering of the water level in a lot of the Swedish lakes from the middleof the 1700th century. The aim was gaining more areable land to meet the needs of more foodto support the expanding population. In areas with top soil which contents of clay or loam asin the southwest of Scania in southern Sweden this was proven to be a successful wayexpanding the total outcome of the harvest.The studied area in the northeast of Scania, though, consists of morain with a lot of mires -much less nutritious conditions. When the water level is lowered the atmosphere gets accessto the peat. The dissolving of the organic matter that has been suppressed by the lack ofoxygene below water level continues.

Do new, attractive neighborhoods meet the requirements of being socially sustainable? This essay is based on the potential conflicts between the pursuit of social sustainability, while the theory of the creative class influence city planning. Social sustainability is difficult to measure, but implies broadly that everyone should have equal rights and opportunities. A city or region that aims to attract a certain type of people by providing what they ask for, might pay less attention and spend less resources on the rest of the population. Socially sustainable - for whom? The new district Hyllie in southern Malmö stands in focus, and the paper seeks to identify how different operators in Malmö defines the concept of social sustainability, how it is implemented in the design of Hyllie, and if any potential conflicts may arise.Interviews with the following informants; representants from the Office for City Planning in Malmö, the nonprofit organization Sustainable Development Skåne, the Commission for a Socially Sustainable Malmö and the company Skanska Öresund have constituted the main methodology, among with reading and analyzing existing documents and policies relating to the development of Hyllie.

Our planet is faced with enormous challenges as the extreme weather events related to the human-caused climate change continue to gain strength. The scale of the problem has made changing human behaviour the central focus of sustainable development, and both public and private sector are expected to gain relevant expertise and introduce this work in their agenda. Over its 40-year history, social marketing has become an established field providing tools for social change, but compared to health promotion, sustainability has not been a major focus of social marketing research so far. At the same time, sustainable lifestyles are embedded in complex systems where both individual factors and those of physical and social environment play a defining role in their adoption. Communities are a good example of such environments, and they became the key focus of Community-Based Social Marketing, which combines different insights from psychology to suggest a step-by-step framework for crafting behaviour change campaigns. However, it has not been applied to larger and diverse communities, like cities, and has not focused on sustaining new behaviour over time, which is crucial for creating sustainable lifestyles.

The aim and purpose with this essay is to identify the natural conditions of the New Orleans City region, and to establish an understanding of the disastrous event of Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. The author has been very critical to the material and data that was presented by the American authorities, media and non governmental organisations.New Orleans City?s topography is unique in the matter that the city is constructed on a delta area, the Mississippi River, Missouri and Ohio River systems are all connected in New Orleans.

An era ended in 1920 when the Walloon ironworks village of Strömsberg closed. The Wallon people had lived on the spot for 300 years and influenced the region was a lot. The kitchengarden in Stromsberg was a gardencenter 1920-50. The count´s good profits made him reinvest a lot of capital in the Wallon ironworks village to make it better and to construct forges, buildings and gardens. The kitchen garden´s history in Stromsberg started in 1660-70s, when Johan Vervier, built Strömsbergs first manor house.

I den här studien utvärderar jag effekter av ett förbättringsprogram i form av nya kunskaper varefter jag studerar hur och under vilka villkor dessa kunskaper används och sprids. Studieobjektet är ett servicehus som ger service till äldre med och utan demenssjukdom. Denna verksamhet har vid två tillfällen deltagit i förbättringsprogram anordnade av Region Skåne. I bägge programmen har man, som förbättringsverktyg använt sig utav Genombrottsmetodiken och båda dessa program ligger i fokus för studien. I denna kvalitativa studie har jag använt mig utav intervjuer som metod för datainsamling medan den teoretiska basen har utgjorts av teorin om innovationsspridning.

Abstract Background: The World Health Organization has expressed a great concern about the increasing prevalence of childhood obesity. Region Västra Götaland (VGR) has developed a web based program to support school nurses in their work to promote health among children with obesity. Previous research on childhood obesity emphasizes the importance of support from nurses and how their work is organized. Aim: The aim of the study is, firstly, to explore school nurses experiences with health promotion work among obese children. Secondly, to investigate whether school nurses use the salutogenic theory of health.

Våren 2013 tilldelades jag ett stipendium finansierat av Swedish International Development cooperation Agency (SIDA). Jag fick därmed möjligheten att genomföra en studie som undersöker quechuaundervisningens betydelse för det bolivianska mångkulturella samhället. Enligt den nya utbildningslagen 070 Avelino Siñani - Elizardo Pérez skall alla elever i Bolivias grundskola undervisas i det ursprungsspråk som talas i respektive region. Syftet med studien är att undersöka svårigheter som lärare och rektorer har mött under implementeringen av quechuaundervisningen. Eftersom avkolonisering är ett starkt ord i den nya utbildningslagen avser jag även att undersöka hur olika människor definierar begreppet.

Metod: I uppsatsen används en induktiv ansats med en kvalitativ datainsamling. Empiri: Empirin består av fyra företag, Tetra Pak, AstraZeneca, Färs och Frosta Sparbank samt Vinge.

År 2000 invigdes Öresundsbron mellan Malmö och Köpenhamn. Drömmen var att genom Öresundsbron skapa en region som kunde agera som motpol till den svenska och danska staten där de kulturella, sociala och ekonomiska skillnaderna mellan Sverige och Danmark kunde utjämnas. En fast länk mellan de två närliggande ländema sågs som ett tecken på tillväxt och sågs som en bidragande faktor till en ökning av sysselsättningseffekten i regionen. Den nu förkortade resan till grannlandet har medfört en ökad närhet mellan myndigheter, näringsliv och samhälle i Öresundsregionen vilket har skapat ett konkurrenskraftigt samarbete och placerat regionen på väridskartan. En gemensam bostads- och arbetsmarknad har formats och möjliggjort en vardaglig integration mellan grannländerna.

In metropolitan areas where the exploitation pressure increases, also the importance to point out nature areas grows, both for the sake of outdoor life and for biodiversity conservation. Since nature conservancy and spatial planning constitute two different parts of the municipalities land use control, a case study has been carried out in two municipalities in the Stockholm region, Huddinge and Järfälla. Both these municipalities have protected about one third of their land and today there are plans to repeal parts of the reserves to enable exploitation. This thesis shows ? from the theoretical concept of sustainable development ? officials, politicians and non-governmental organizations perspectives on questions concerning land use together with the work with nature reserves and repeals.
