Citizenship information is defined as the information the citizen needs to be able to take part in and influence the society. Since it is a democratic issue that information concerning the citizens role in society really reaches the citizens, it is of importance to study how the citizens proceed when they have a need for this information. The aim of this Masters thesis is to investigate how our eight informers proceed when they experience this need in a non-work situation. We performed qualitative interviews. The most important part of our interviews was the introduction of some fictitious problems to the informants.

In this essay, I make a queer feminist analysis of four novels written by the Swedish author Sigge Stark. The novels are: Uggleboet, Manhatareklubben, Cirkus Demonio och Baskerflickan. Using Judith Butler's theories I examine the relations between sex/gender and sexuality in the four books and show how the construction of gender is performed and the heterosexual normativity is jeopardized. I also examine whether, and if so how, Sigge Stark uses the romantic and the gothic genres to include transcending gender identities and sexualities in her work. Evaporation is a part of the chemical recovery department at wood pulping mills. The purpose of evaporation is to remove water from the black liquor, which makes the liquor combustible. The process is very energy demanding, and having a well-functioning model of the system is of greatest interest. The model can then be used to study energy consumption and to test different control strategies. Two models have been developed during the master thesis.

Abstract:Objective: This study aimed at describing the health concept in the Swedish follow up programme for cerebral palsy (CPUP), with main focus on how aspects of participation is expressed in the agenda of the programme. Design: Document analysis: The home-page of CPUP was searched for three types of written material; references to the nature and aim of the programme, protocols used for data collection and abstracts from articles and reports on the list of publications. Within these all expressions of health, with bio-psycho-social understanding of the concept, were extracted and condensed with manifest content analysis. The meaning units obtained were linked to the International Classification of Function, Disability and Health ? Child/Youth (ICF-CY).

Dagens konsumenter efterfrågar i allt större utsträckning företagens engagemang gentemot miljö och samhälle. För vissa är Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, ett krav för att konsumera en tjänst eller produkt. Verksamheter som arbetar med CSR kan stärka sina varumärken samt differentiera sig mot konkurrenterna i branschen. Syftet med denna studie är att ge en teoretisk belysning av hur våra valda fallföretag jobbar med det växande intresset kring CSR, samt identifiera vilka lärdomar som kan dras kring framgångsrikt varumärkesbyggande med utgångspunkt från CSR. Studien tillämpar kvalitativa forskningsmetoden med tre fallföretag som empiri. Inom CSR finns flera olika metoder för att analysera hur företag arbetar, samt huruvida de får med de olika delar som är viktiga komponenter för ett givande CSR- arbete. Olika forskning tar upp olika delar, men de flesta går att överföra på varandra, vilket visas i teorikapitlet. Genom att arbeta med dessa olika komponenter och tillämpa dem på företag, har sedan en analys av tre fallföretag gjorts.

'Teachers in current Swedish child- and youth literature' is an essay that attempts to understand the reasons behind why authors portray teachers the way they do. The foundation and focus point of this essay are ten Swedish child and youth books that were all published during 2012. Throughout this essay I have analyzed the fictional teachers in these books using the discourse analysis method but also employed a gender perspective. The main questions were these: Do the teachers presented in these books follow the curriculum LGR - 11, or do they represent the authors own education experience brought forward to current settings? Furthermore, was there a difference in how female and male teachers were represented? And if so what, possible reasons could account for that? The conclusions made were thus: ? The teacher characters within these books were mostly a throwback to days gone by, therefore reflecting the authors own memories of their school. ? They were mainly presented to the reader in a negative light which most likely has its roots in how Swedish school and Swedish teachers have been portrayed within the mass media. ? This research aims to investigate the effects that dredging may have on benthic fauna. The dredging took place in the stream Ireån on northern Gotland during the early summer 2010. My area of research was taking place in a scenic area downstream in Ireån close to the Baltic Sea. I chose this area due to the dredging that started just upstream of this area and continued further upstream. Thus it is not the direct impact of the dredging that is the focus for this paper but the side-effect the dredging may have on the area downstream.

Denna uppsats fokus ligger på den praktik inom socialt arbete där kategorier produceras, upprätthålls, modifieras och bryts. Huvudsyftet har varit att studera professionell retorik i relation till det kategoriseringsarbete som sker inom välfärdsstatliga miljöer. En diskursanalytisk metod har valts som grund i form av en kategoriseringsanalys. De teoretiska förutsättningarna har varit poststrukturalism, social konstruktionism och diskurspsykologi och mer specificerat i form av institutionell kategorisering, medan Jonathans Potters (1996) metodologiska retoriska verktyg kring faktakonstruktion tillämpats för att analysera hur respondenterna framställt sina utsagor som trovärdiga och faktamässiga.Addiction Severity Index (ASI) manualen har använts som utgångspunkt för insamlandet av empiri, men även som ett sätt att försöka fånga in professionell hjälpverksamhets generella ambition att standardisera och säkra sitt arbetssätt. Sammanlagt har tio yrkesverksamma professionella hjälpare som aktivt använts sig av ASI manualen i sitt dagliga arbete intervjuats, dessa kom även från en och samma institution.Analysresultatet visar att de professionella hjälparna beskriver två olika huvudkategorier som relevanta för deras verksamhet, nämligen sexualbrottslingen och missbrukaren.

In this thesis I analyse and discuss what impact the 2003 U.S lead intervention in Iraq, had for the cooperation against global terrorism between the European Union and the United States. Six years have passed since the Bush administration decided to go on with the intervention, even though they did not have the necessary UN mandate. Due to unsuccessful argumentation in favour of the intervention by the Bush administration, the world got divided. George W. Bush reference to a ?war on terror?, which passed almost unnoticed by Americans, rang alarm bells in many European countries.

This paper deals with variations in the osteological material of dog (Canis familiaris L.) from the Mesolithic Scania, southern Sweden. The general aim is to discuss the use and specialisation of dog during the period, and differences or relations between cultures and traditions within the Mesolithic period. The study is based on a analysis of the bone material from the sites; Ageröd I:A-D, Ageröd I:H-C, Bredasten, Bökeberg III, Hög, Löddesborg, Ringsjöholm, Segebro, Sjöholmen, Skateholm I-II and Tågerup, phase 1-3, with datings from Late Maglemose Culture to Early Ertebølle Culture. The seminar paper also includes descriptive statistics of the osteometrical data of Denmark, from several studies of Degerbøhl (1927) and Noe-Nygaard (1995, 2003). The study is focused on the relation between size, robusticity, muscle grooves and ligaments of mandibula, tibia, radius, humerus, femur and metacarpalia/metatarsalia.

This master?s thesis discusses the term physical theatre from a discourse point of view. It also focuses on aspects of power from a field theory perspective. The main theory used is Pierre Bourdieu?s field theory, and I try to apply this onto critical discourse analysis, mainly taken from Michel Foucault.

En individs prenatala testosteronhalter kan mätas genom att ta fram ett relationstal mellan längden på pek- och ringfinger: ett 2D:4D digit ratio index. Studier har visat att det finns ett samband mellan högre testosteronhalter och god matematisk förmåga. I föreliggande studie deltog 40 svenska gymnasieungdomar. Två hypoteser undersöktes: det finns ett samband mellan 2D:4D och matematikresultat samt det finns ett samband mellan kön, 2D:4D och matematikresultat. Datainsamlingen bestod av fingermätningar och provresultat i matematik.
