The purpose of this study was to examine how modern information and communication technology influence collective action within the framework of social movements. By studying the protests in the Arab World 2011, and focusing on the social movements in Suleimanya in northern Iraq, by observation taken on place, the essay discusses that collective action is closely related to the use of technology, for example cell phones and Internet.Result shows that modern communication technology has enabled immeasurable access andconnection between individuals throughout the world, which seems to be different from previouscollective action. The new communication channels in the form of social media, has been used for the dissemination of information and news, documentation, organization and membership recruitment in the social movements in the Arab World and Suleimanya. The new social movements have the tendency to be decentralized and flattened organized, they are now self-organizing and that they only do a whole as global patterns, as evidenced by the social movements in the Arab World andSuleimanya..

The success of self-service technology in retail grocery stores cannot be ignored, and the fact is that every other grocery store in Sweden has implemented the self-scanning or self-checkout systems. The trend is that the technique is spreading into other markets with potential to increase productivity for companies and enhance the service for customers. Fast fashion is one branch that is left untouched by the development in payment processes, and despite the leading companies extensive focus on fast service, the concept of self-service technology has not yet been tested. This paper undertake a quantitative, experimental approach to the issue and examines the effect self-checkout would have on Fast fashion- customers. By presenting a scenario with and without self- checkout and afterwards asked about the respondents experience, we can provide the marketing world with new insights.

Detta examensarbete riktar in sig på arbetet och utvecklandet av en websida anpassat för onlinespelare. Websidan är gjord i Ruby on Rails, ett ramverk som baserar sig på programmeringsspråket Ruby. Det har en egenskap som grundar sig i att upprepning av programmeringskod inte skall behöva förekomma, detta för att underlätta arbetsflödet samt reducera problemen som ofta uppstår med för mycket kod Denna egenskap var något av det som inspirerade mig att fortsätta arbeta med ramverket, då jag använt mig av det innan, och på så sätt utveckla mina kunskaper i det. SammanfattningExamensarbetet är utfört vid Fujita laboratory på Tokyo Institute of Technology.Detta examensarbete beskriver teori och bakgrund av en visuell observatör somhar forskats på vid Fujita laboratory.Att använda visuella sensorer, det vill säga kameror, kan bland annat hjälparobotar att agera autonomt i okända och i dynamiska miljöer. Syftet med envisuell observatör är att estimera ett objekts position i förhållande till robotensamt hur objektet och roboten rör sig gentemot varandra, med hjälp av bildensom fås från kameran.Syftet med examensarbetet har varit att studera teorin bakom observatören ochhur den anpassas till två olika kameror, en hålkamera och en panoramakamera.Fokus har legat på att utvärdera observatörerna experimentellt samt jämföra deolika kamerorna. Observatören för de båda kamerorna modelleras och simulerassedan och testas slutligen experimentellt. Examensarbetet innefattar även denbildbehandling som behövs för att göra experimenten möjliga att genomföra.I slutet av examensarbetet jämförs observatörerna för de olika kamerorna medavseende på korrekthet i estimering, robusthet mot parameterosäkerheter samtkänslighet för störningar.Resultaten visar att observatören för panoramakameran är känsligare förstörningar än den för hålkameran. Resultaten visar också att observatören förhålkameran är känsligare för parameterosäkerheter.

Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera upplevda tillväxtutmaningar utifrån en företagsledares perspektiv. Genom fokus på tillväxtfasen skildras omfattningen och betydelsen av de hinder som tidigare forskning behandlat. Metod: Studien har en teoretisk grund som vi har använt oss av när vi genomfört individuella intervjuer med utvalda företagsledare i gasellföretag. Dessa teorier har även använts som grund till analysen. Det teoretiska samt empiriska materialet är sammanställt under respektive kapitel.

High technology companies in Sweden spend a huge amount of money on research and product development in proportion to what they get back in earnings from their inventions. Product development has traditionally been regarded as much more important than business development. This thesis aims to point out the critical factors behind successful business development processes for high technology companies. We have chosen to make a case study of Hexagon, a highly successful and innovative company within the measurement technology business. Internal and external actors that are important for business development have been identified and interviewed in order to understand how ideas are developed and executed.

As energy prices skyrocket and the environmental issues become more frequently debated, interest in energy-efficient buildings has increased sharply in the past decade. Because of this, the interest to achieve high air tightness in building envelopes have once again awakened, due to a good air tightness contributes to lower energy consumption in several ways and to a healthier indoor environment.As the regulations for energy consumption and controls of achieved air tightness has tightened considerably in recent years, the work regarding sheets for air tightness changed significantly for construction contractors. This thesis includes a study that aims to detect what kind of manuals, recommendations or instructions contractors working according, and how a number of randomly selected construction companies in Halland, Sweden, are dealing with the matter of high air tightness of the building envelopes. The study also includes a knowledge inventory of supervisors, site managers and skilled workers, and what their opinions and attitudes are like towards work regarding the sheets of air tightness. The results have been compared with a similar survey dated to 2004, conducted by the SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden in collaboration with Chalmers University of Technology.

The purpose of this media scientific study is to contribute to a better understanding about how blind people?s empowerment and participation may affect their role in the digital society.Earlier international studies in this area have shown that blind people not only need more knowledge then the seeing population about the computer, but also about the technology behind their tools for using Internet. The results from these studies have also shown that Internet increases the blind people?s independents and that those who use Internet feel more involved in the society.A qualitative method was chosen to study the three most common categories from the earlier studies: knowledge of technology, empowerment and participation. Are there differences in the results compared to our study in Sweden 2014?Interviews with eight blind, experienced computer users have shown that knowledge of technology is essential for their use of Internet and that the Internet increases their empowerment and their participation.

This thesis work is the result of the company Prisjakt?s wish to develop and improve its current system of opinions for online stores. The challenge was to develop a similar system that competitors are using but better. The collection of information is based on purchases and are collected from Web-shops. The purchases can then be monitored in a control panel.
