The main purpose of this master thesis is to investigate the information seeking of lay politicians, part-time politicians and professional politicians in connection with the possible upcoming fusion of the two administrative regions, Västra Götaland and Värmland. The focus of this study has been to study how politicians use and evaluate information and sources of information, and to investigate if there are any differences in how different categories of politicians seek information. Seven politicians were interviewed using semi-structured questions, and a phenomenographic approach was used to analyze the data. In Sweden there are few available studies of how politician seek information, but some international studies have focused on information needs, information sources, selection and evaluation of information. I have used previous research, and data from respondents to compile and analyze my results in three descriptive categories.

Det är komplext att i ett palliativt skede ge korrekt och individanpassad information till patienter. Därför är det viktigt att sjuksköterskan använder sig av ett etiskt förhållningssätt och identifierar de behov som patienten har. Syftet var att belysa patientens behov av information i den palliativa omvårdnaden. En litteraturstudie genomfördes där femton vetenskapliga artiklar bearbetades och granskades. Fem teman framkom som belyser behovet av information för att få kunskap om sin sjukdom, behov av information för att leva med sjukdomen, behov av information för att klara av sista tiden, behov av anpassad information, behov av att få information från rätt person.

The aim of this master thesis was to examine the European Commission's information resources from a user perspective in order to clarify the needs and circumstances of the search of EU-information among students at Örebro University. 41 students participated in a survey, and four of them was interviewed. On the basis of Pendelton- and Chatmans theories of information behaviour in small worlds, it were assumed that the students' education and citizenship in the European Union affected their needs and the search of EU information.The study showed that the students needs for EU-related information has increased, with the current education, but also been linked to earlier educations. The students Citizens need were mainly associated with elections such as the EMU-election, but also in some cases to a need of the general knowledge.A review of the European Commission's information resources were made with an emphasis on European Documentation Centre, EDC. The survey showed that most students used the EDC and the EU-databases that was made available by the European Commission through the EDC and the university library but were not aware that they used EDC.The survey also showed that students made use of familiar sources and resources when they searched the EU-information, such as the library's regular database list, the library catalogue and search engine on the internet are not requested of other resources.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis was to examine the information needs of the international students at the University of Borås. A further aim was to examine the types of information sources the international students was using to satisfy their information needs and the environmental factors keeping them from achieving this. This was done through focus group interviews with international students from four different countries ranging from the ages 20 ? 35.

The aim of this master's thesis is a comparative study on units for civic information in Göteborg. The study is based on a project currently in progress at the main public library in Göteborg. It is observed that according to the library's mission statement the library aims to become the most competent intermediary of civic information in Göteborg. This statement suggests a competitive strategy towards other intermediaries of civic information. The mission statement does, however, also state that their goal is to be obtained in cooperation with other intermediaries.

Syftet med den här undersökningen har varit att ta reda på vilka förutsättningar som finns för en hållbar stadsplanering med tanke på placering av dagligvaruhandelsetableringar och hur människors resvanor dit ser ut. För att ta reda på det har vi använt oss av en kvantitativ enkätundersökning där vi har delat ut enkäter i tre butiker i Lund som har haft olika typer av lokalisering. Vi valde en centralt belägen, en i ett stadsdelscentrum och en belägen i utkanten av staden. Resultatet har visat att för de totalt 524 deltagande kunderna från de tre butikerna så var bilen det vanligaste färdmedlet. Nästan hälften av kunderna valde att cykla eller gå till mataffären. Det var dock stora skillnader i valet av transportsätt mellan de olika butikerna. Det mest intressanta resultatet var en bekräftelse på det vi anat, nämligen att butiken med den bilvänligaste omgivningen var den som människor oftast åkte bil till..

This Bachelor?s thesis is related to the area within library and information studies that focuses on information seeking and information practices. The study deals with how politically engaged young people seek information in relation to their political interests. The purpose of the study is to create an understanding of the roles that different forms of information-related activities play within the framework of political interest and of the feelings, experiences and challenges that such activities may give rise to for those involved. The study also discusses purposes and motivation for information seeking and use in political engagement.

Information management is today a matter of great importance for every organisation. It is therefore necessary for organisations to see information and its management as a significant part of the organisation s key to success. In this essay we have chosen to study the implications of information policy and information strategy for The Nordic Council/The Nordic Council of Ministers. These two intergovernmental organisations share the same information department. Although The Nordic Council/The Nordic Council of Ministers are non-profitable organisations, they share some characteristics with those acting in a competitive market.

The main purpose of this study is to investigate how student nurses seek and use information and libraries. Furthermore, I want to know how they think information can be used in their future occupation. Seven student nurses were included in the study. A qualitative method with personal interviews was used. The analysis of the empirical material was made according to a socio-cultural perspective.

The change in the information society has affected the development of the labour market for information specialists and informants as well as their roles. Companies are now aware of the fact that information specialists have a variety of important skills and competence that is important for them. The goal of this thesis is to see what defines an information specialist and an informant and also to find out their situation on the labour market. The similarities and differences between the two professions will also be discussed in the thesis. The main method used is the investigation of the job advertisements in the journal DIK-forum from the year 2000 and year 2004.

Vi har i detta examensarbete genom en enkät undersökt vilka undervisningsmetoder som förekommer på gymnasiet i kurs A i matematik på 10 skolor i Malmö och Lund. Resultatet visar att den traditionella metoden med genomgång vid tavlan följt av lösning av uppgifter i läroboken dominerar helt med 75 % av totala tiden. Andra arbetsformer som arbete i grupp och laborativt arbete används i liten utsträckning. Enligt matematikdelegationens rapport är det önskvärt att förändra dagens situation och det finns även en sådan vilja inom lärarkåren. Ett stort hinder är tidsbrist.

Närheten till Danmark och utvecklingen av Öresundsregionen har länge skapat positiva och dynamiska effekter för Skåne, med ökade investeringar och etableringar. Avståndet mellan Sverige och Danmark är kort vilket underlättar rörligheten för kapital, varor, tjänster och arbetskraft. På den svenska sidan om Öresund är den privata tjänstesektorn med högutbildad arbetskraft huvudsakligen koncentrerad till sydvästra delen av Skåne. Malmö är Sveriges tredje största stad med nästan 300 000 invånare, denna region är länets ekonomiska motor. Intill Malmö ligger Lund som är en av Sveriges största studieorter.

Kulturen har i dagens samhälle växt sig allt starkare och ett exempel på det är införandet av evenemanget Europas kulturhuvudstad i mitten på 1980-talet. Under de cirka tjugo år som gått sedan detta infördes har arrangemanget växt sig större och större från år till år. År 2014 är det Sveriges och Lettlands tur att ta hand om detta evenemang och i Sverige finns redan nu fyra kandiderande städer: Umeå, Lund, Gävle och Kalmarregionen.Problemformuleringen i uppsatsen är vad de kandiderande städerna gör för att bli nominerade som Sveriges kulturhuvudstad utifrån en strategisk marknadsplan och varumärkesbyggande åtgärder. Syftet som ställdes upp var: att skapa en förståelse för att sedan jämföra de svenska städer som hittills har uppgett att de kommer att kandidera och att ta reda på hur de ansvariga i respektive stad tänker och agerar i inledningsfasen av denna satsning. Syftet utgick från projektledarnas synvinkel och därmed togs ett projektledarperspektiv.
