Detta arbete undersöker möjligheterna med att simulera mikrovågor i ett slutet system. Systemet implementeras med en redan befintlig teknik kallad ray tracing. Ray tracing är en ljussättningsteknik som går ut på att simulera fotoners rörelse mellan ljuskälla och betraktare i en miljö man önskar ljussätta, och sedan belysa de områden som blir träffade för att på detta vis rendera en bild. Fotoner och mikrovågor har egenskaper som liknar varandra då de båda är elektromagnetism med olika våglängder. Ray tracing är en krävande algoritm då många uträkningar för varje foton måste utföras varje uppdatering.

The subject of this paper is the library job market in Sweden 1975-1995. The object of this master thesis is to question why the sheet music heldby libraries is not used more than it is. I have mainly studied the inc idenceof any cooperation between the music schools and libraries,whether there has been consultation on the purchase of sheet musicand whether the music schools borrowed sheet music from the libraries.For the thesis qualitative methods were used in the form of interviewswith ten leaders in music or cultural schools in Sweden. The mainstudy has been focused on the library and music school in Vänersborg.To compare my results and draw conclusions I have used the work ofSanna Taljas: Music, Culture and the Library: an analysis of Discourses.The result of the study showed that there is very little cooperation betweenthe library section for music and the music school. The greatestinterest for cooperation appears to come from the library personnel.Both the library and the music school personnel claim insufficient timeand money for their lack of cooperation..

The purpose of this master thesis is to investigate if the mobile library has a similar role as the public library. To study this further we intend to examine the value and function of the mobile library. Answers are sought to the following questions: Can the mobile library be seen as a public library in a smaller scale? How do the users experience the value and function of the mobile library? What does the library staff think of the value and function of the mobile library for the users? What would the consequences be if the service of the mobile libraries would not exist? The method used was qualitative interviews. The groups of respondents are mobile library users and library staff.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine adults? fictionreading habits. The focus is finding out what differencesexist between men and women to study the significance offiction to readers. The study is based on a questionnairesurvey with men and women coming in to a public library.We used Sten Furhammar?s reading dimensions andcategories to describe the importance of the respondentsreading experience and describe the ways that men andwomen read.Our result shows that the genres men and women prefer arenovels, detective stories/thrillers and biographies.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine whether there exists a hegemonic relationship between librarians and users of libraries with a focus on the librarians point of view. The future of movies in the library is also going to be examined. Qualitative interviews were conducted and were examined for signs of hegemony and habitus according to the respective theories. The results of these interviews showed that librarians were in favor of user suggestions to improve the libraries collection. We found that there exists a hegemonic relationship in the libraries, but that it was subliminal and unwanted.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis is to describe and analyze the implementation of Facebook in a public library. A case study consisting of qualitative interviews and studies of documents containing goals for the library has been conducted at a public library going through the process of implementing Facebook in their operations. The theoretical framework for this study consists of Everett M. Rogers?s stages of the innovation-decision process and his characteristics of innovations as perceived by individuals.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the reason behind thedecision to open libraries at subway stations in Stockholm.The theoretical framework for the study is Douglas Raber´s threeideologies, social activism, conservative response and populistinitiative. The study includes interviews with librarians and apolitician responsible for the service and documents with plansfor the Public Libraries development during the period. Theempirical material was examined with an idea- and ideologicalanalysis.The conclusion is that the concept of the subway libraries consistsof a combination of the three ideologies but the most evidentare those of populist initiative and social activism.The reason for opening libraries at subway stations is to makethe libraries more easily accessible, to attract new visitors and tomake the Public Libraries service more visible. De som i ett tidigt stadium efter skadan m?r s?mre psykisk har ?ven en ?kad risk att isolera sig och inte vara delaktig i aktiviteter i samh?llet.

Denna kvalitativa studie unders?ker vad unga vuxna med akademisk bakgrund inom personaladministration finner meningsfullt i arbetet och hur deras attityder speglas mellan altruistiska och individualistiska v?rderingar. Med utg?ngspunkt i Tomas Berglunds teori om idealtypiska f?rh?llningss?tt till arbete (2001) syftar forskningen till att besvara tv? centrala fr?gor: Vilka v?rden motiverar unga vuxna med personaladministrativ utbildning i deras arbete? Och, hur resonerar dessa unga vuxna kring meningsfullhet i arbetslivet? Studien bygger p? empiriska data fr?n kvalitativa och semistrukturerade intervjuer. Resultaten visar att informanterna inte drivs av en stark lojalitet till ett yrkeskollektiv eller altruistiska m?l, utan snarare av en individualistisk str?van efter sj?lvf?rverkligande, autenticitet och en balans mellan arbete och privatliv. Sociala aspekter, s?som autentiska relationer p? arbetsplatsen, ?r viktiga men uppfattas fr?mst som ett medel f?r personlig utveckling snarare ?n ett kollektivt v?rde.

Det finns drygt 300 professionella förlag i Sverige med regelbunden utgivning. I Litteraturutredningen 2012 slås fast att både koncentrationen och integrationen har ökat på den svenska bokmarknaden under de senaste åren och den största aktören på bokmarknaden är Bonnierförlagen. Jättens monopolliknande ställning på bokmarknaden ger emellanåt upphov till en samhällsdebatt. Bonnierkritiker menar att Bonnierförlagens utgivning är begränsad till säkra storsäljare, vilket är ett hot mot mångfald och det fria ordet. Dessutom har Bonnier större möjlighet till marknadsföring jämfört med mindre förlag vilket i förlängningen gör att Bonnierböcker efterfrågas i större utsträckning.Ett intressant spörsmål är varför folkbiblioteken inte är involverade i denna debatt.

Det finns beskrivet i forskning hur syskon till kroniskt sjuka barn har behov av st?d och information. Syskon som anh?riga i v?rden har r?ttigheter som ska tas i beaktning n?r ett barn ?r sjukt.

Fler och fler webbapplikationer låter sina användare ladda upp bilder. Ibland behöver dessa bilder manipuleras på något sätt, till exempel förminskas eller beskäras för att bättre passa in på webbsidan. Detta kan göras på flera olika sätt men denna rapport behandlar endast ett av biblioteken för bildmanipulation i PHP, nämligen GD-biblioteket.Syftet med denna rapport var att hitta eventuella styrkor och svagheter i detta bibliotek gällande bildmanipulation. Detta har gjorts genom att försöka skapa, för webben vanlig funktionalitet så som exempelvis tumnaglar, beskärning och vattenmärkning och sedan dokumentera resultatet.Resultatet av testningen visade att all testad funktionalitet gick att åstadkomma och slutsatsen som drogs av detta var att GD-biblioteket är ett bra val för någon som vill manipulera bilder..

Syftet är att utvärdera i vilken utsträckning svenska företags belöningssystem motiverar de anställda. Primärdata inhämtades via tio fallstudier genom intervjuer med de ansvariga för belöningssystemet på företagen. Sekundärdata inhämtades via en teorigenomgång av böcker, artiklar och uppsatser hämtade ur Lunds Universitets Bibliotek. Teorigenomgången mynnar ut i definierandet av tio kriterier som ett belöningssystem skall uppfylla för att vara motiverande för de anställda. De definierade kriteriernas uppfyllelse analyseras för de tio fallen.

This is an empirical study mapping out different citation practices to games in the fieldof game studies. From an analysis of 7 journals, 3 conferences and 22 canonical bookswithin game studies, 5 different strategies for game referencing have been identified.Games scholars can either totally refrain from referring to the games they discuss, onlyreference some specific games, cite them as something special and deviant from othersources, refer to them in accordance with other sources or refer to games with regard totheir unique properties as a reference. For the reference librarian working with issuesrelating to game studies the diverse reference practices among game scholars pose aspecific challenge. A challenge that partly can be overcome by knowing how gamescholars frame games and how these frameworks are in conflict with the ways librariansframe and classify sources due their physical properties..
