The purpose of this Master Thesis is to investigate the quality of the library service at the City Library of Uddevalla. In particular this thesis will examine the quality of the library service to people who are disabled. This applies particularly to the service to people with reduced ability to move or to see, which also includes people with infirmities due to old age. We also have investigated how well the library itself is adapted to the disabled. In order to get more information about the library service to people who are disabled, we have studied literature on this subject and the Master Thesis contains a summary of those documents.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how a valuation model of a Private Equity firm is interpreted into a management control system within the company's different organizational levels. A case study was developed based on the infra-net company Eltel. The management control systems developed by Malmi and Brown (2008)(1) was used to characterize the control systems at each organizational level. The building blocks of this system are planning, cybernetic, reward/compensation, administrative and culture. Miller and O'Learys (2007)(2) theory of mediating instruments and technology roadmaps was applied to analyze the mediating process of the valuation model.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur revisorer arbetar med revision av företag inom kontantbranschen för att förebygga ekonomiska brott. Vidare är syftet att belysa huruvida revisorerna tror att lagen (2007:592) om kassaregister uppfyller sitt syfte.I denna studie har den kvalitativa metoden använts för att uppnå uppsatsens syfte och  besvara problemformuleringen. Studiens primärdata är baserade på personliga intervjuer med fyra kvalificerade revisorer, som är verksamma inom kontantbranschen. Sekundärdata består av litteratur, vetenskapliga artiklar, lagstiftningar, statens offentliga utredningar och regeringspropositioner.I analysen sammankopplas referensramen och den empiriska undersökningen.Studien visar att revisorer har en betydande roll vid förebyggande av ekonomiska brott inom kontantbranschen då det är revisorerna som utförligt ska granska företagets årsredovisning, bokföring och övriga förvaltning. Vid genomförandet av revision arbetar revisorer med olika granskningsmetoder, lagar, normer och rekommendationer samt gör en egen bedömning.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine public library and information technology IT discourses to see which relationships are established between them in four library journals. This is done in two steps, where first discourses are defined followed by an analysis of the relationships established between the public library and IT in each discourse. The questions from which the analysis emanates are as follows: What discourses exist around the public library and IT in the library journals? What conceptions of the tasks of the public library are constructed in the discourses? What conceptions of the tasks of IT are constructed in the discourses? What conceptions of the relationships between the public library and IT are constructed in the discourses? The theoretical and methodological starting-points are found in Ernesto Laclaus and Chantal Mouffes discourse theory. 37 articles from four library journals Biblioteksbladet, Bibliotek i Samhälle, DIK-forum and Ikoner - are analysed through a model in five phases.

The aim of this study was to find out if hypertext structure has any relevance for the efficiency of information retrieval. An experiment, in which three variants of hypertext structure were compared, was carried out in the autumn of 1998. Three websites with different structures were constructed for this purpose: a sequential version, a hierarchical version and a webcluster version. 44 subjects, all students at the University of Lund, were randomly divided into three groups. Subjects were requiered to answer a number of questions using one of the three versions.

This bachelor thesis explores how librarian graduates perceive the transfer from university to employment. The authors will examine how librarian graduates experience the relation between knowledge learned from university studies and the qualifications required from the employer. The basis of the thesis is the concept of transition process. In this thesis it is defined as the relation between the knowledge gained from education and the qualifications required by the employer as well as the problem to transfer knowledge between different contexts.The theoretical framework is build upon the concept of competence and its connection to re-contextualized knowledge. The empirical material of the thesis constitutes of five phone interviews with newly employed librarians.

The municipality of Falkenberg is a result of a unification of several smaller municipalities in 1971, each one with a small library. This left Falkenberg with an unusual large amount of smaller branch libraries. The object of this thesis is to describe and try to understand the political conflicts that have erupted during the period 1971-1994. Through a case study containing press clippings from the local newspaper, different reports, political meeting protocols, a historical background of the library and a study of library specific norms and regulations I can create an image of the heated debate. The participants in this debate can be divided into politicians and civil servants and the conflict circles round the fact that from an economical perspective, there is not enough budget to keep all the small, local libraries.

Uppsatsen beskriver arbetet och undersökning för hur deduplicering i filsystemet ZFS påverkar effektförbrukningen. En större mängd redundant data förekommer i centraliserade lagringssystem som förser virtualiserade servrar med lagringsutrymme. Deduplicering kan för den typen av lagringsmiljö eliminera redundant data och ger en stor besparing av lagringsutrymme. Frågan som undersökningen avsåg att besvara var hur ett lagringssystem påverkas av det extra arbete som det innebär att deduplicera data i realtid.Metoden för att undersöka problemet var att utföra fem experiment med olika typer av scenarion. Varje scenario innebar att filer kopierades till ett lagringssystem med eller utan deduplicering för att senare kunna analysera skillnaden.

During the late twentieth century, political and societal changes gave rise to an increased interest in performance evaluation in public organizations. This development also affected libraries in the public sector. The main concern for this master thesis is performance measurement in libraries. In this study two different types of libraries are investigated, one public and the other academic. My aim is to find out if and how performance measurement appears in the libraries annual activity reports.

Arbetssätt i särskolan, utifrån enskilda pedagogers och elevers perspektiv (methods and assistances for education in specialschool, based on some teachers and pupils perspectives). Abstract Undersökningen grundar sig på litteraturstudier, en kvalitativ undersökning och intervjuer av halvstrukturerad karaktär. Målet för undersökningen har varit att undersöka vilka arbetssätt som några pedagoger använder sig av i deras arbete i särskolan och vilken faktor/ vilka faktorer som bidrar till valet/ valen av arbetssätt. Med arbetssätt menas metoder och hjälpmedel som främjar lärandet. Utöver en presentation av olika metoder och hjälpmedel som används på den undersökta grundsärskolan presenteras den intellektuella funktionsnedsättningens inverkan på individen.

The history of books and libraries in the Philippines starts after the arrival of the Spaniards in 1521. During the Spanish era, most of the libraries were established through the religious orders to support their own religious mission. The Americans came in the beginning of the 20th century and have had a decisive influence on the education system and the development of libraries in the Philippines. For the analysis, I have used the models of Michael H. Harris and Magnus Torstensson in their studies of library development.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att ta reda på hur barn med funktionsnedsättning framställs i barnlitteratur samt hur framställningen kan påverka läsarens syn på barn med funktionsnedsättning. En textanalys, utförs på tre barnlitterära verk, publicerade mellan 2005 och 2010, som går att finna på bibliotek i en svensk storstad. Undersökningens primära utgångspunkt är sprungen ur diskursteori och förutsätter därmed att språket i barnlitteratur påverkar hur barn ser på och agerar i världen. Diskursteori, tillsammans med semantisk kategorisering, ligger till grund för den metod som används, där beskrivande ord och fraser från undersökningens källor kategoriseras efter vissa kriterier. Analysen visar varierande resultat mellan de tre böckerna och det dras därmed inga generella slutsatser angående hur barn med funktionsnedsättning framställs i barnlitteratur.

1. InledningI projektet Biskopshagen har Växjö kommun för första gången arbetat med en arbetsform som kallas projektorganisation. Kommunen har använt sig av ett tydligt projektledarskap där chefer för olika förvaltningar har arbetat tillsammans över förvaltningsgränserna. I samarbetet ingår tre huvudaktörer:? Kommunens planeringsverksamhet ? ansvarar för skapandet av bostäder? Kommunens planeringsfunktion ? har hand om bygglov, detaljplaner? Aktörerna ? byggherrar, till exempel Kärnhem och Växjöhem, och de entreprenörer de anlitar till byggandet, bland annat Skanska och PEAB.Biskopshagen har byggts under två olika etapper.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to describe and analyse the origin and development of the municipal library of Västervik. There have been four previous libraries and our examination starts in 1859 with the foundation of a parish library. The other forerunners were a working-class movement library and two libraries in the International Orders of Good Templars. Before the merger of the libraries there were discussions in the municipal council, among the working-class movement and in the IOGT.
