To be aware of the signs of depression, and how an authorized nurse can support the patient is therefore of great value. The introduction to this study describes the symptoms of depression and how depression in elders is expressed. It also describes treatment possibilities and nursing aspects of concern.

Den svenska modeindustrin spås en ljus framtid och har trots 2000-taletslågkonjunktur nått nya exportrekord. Den tuffa inhemska konkurrensen har gjort attetablering på utländska marknader blivit avgörande för de svenska modeföretagen.Det finns dock endast begränsad kunskap om internationaliseringsprocessen för dennabransch.Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilka metoder som används av små ochmedelstora svenska modeföretag vid internationalisering och de bakomliggandeorsakerna till dessa metoder.Studien baseras på en kvalitativ undersökning av fem svenska modeföretag som sedananalyserats med ett teoretiskt ramverk av internationaliseringsprocesser.Resultatet visar att det inte finns en applicerbar modell för branschensinternationalisering. De studerade företagen har alla inlett internationaliseringen medetableringar på enstaka närliggande, lågriskmarknader. Företagen har därefter ändratriktning i sin internationaliseringsprocess då marknader längre bort penetrerats. Vidvalet av dessa marknader har tidigare erhållen intern kunskap och nätverk, varitavgörande.

Vattendistributionsproblem är ett allvarligt hinder för utveckling i fattiga länder. Världsbankens strategi för utvecklingsländer har sedan 80-talet styrts av neoklassisk teori, vilket i praktiken har haft stor betydelse för privatiseringar av statligt ägda företag. Påtryckningar från Världsbanken ledde till att Vattenverket SEMAPA i staden Cochabamba, Bolivia, år 1999 lades ut till försäljning. Företaget Agua del Tunari tog över driften och chockhöjde vid tillträdandet i november vattenpriserna. Privatiseringen och höjningen av vattenpriserna ledde till att folkrörelsen La Coordinadora bildades och efter massiva protester och upplopp våren 2000 tvingades den bolivianska regeringen att riva Agua del Tunaris kontrakt.

I vår undersökning har vi utgått från Holmströms studie kring över- och underprissättning av nyintroducerade företag. Holmström studerade även hur de nyintroducerade företagens aktiekurser reagerar vid olika händelser och jämförde detta med två etablerade företag. Då vi i vår kritiska granskning upptäckte brister i Holmströms undersökning valde vi att komplettera med två andra undersökningar rörande underprissättning samt en om överreaktionshypotesen. Med vår undersökning vill vi studera hur Telia, Glocalnet och Ericssons aktiekurser påverkas vid nationella samt internationella händelser. Undersökningen kommer att sträcka sig över tidsperioden 2000 till sommaren 2005.

Taiwan's recent democratization seem to have rallied a wider support of the notion of a national identity amongst its citizens which in the year 2000 led to the election of the pro-independence party DPP and President Chen Shui-bian. Meanwhile, China insists on the "one country, two systems" formula, regarding Taiwan as merely a Chinese province, and continues to fight any Taiwanese initiative towards sovereignty. Through a narrative perspective, this essay analyzes the self-conscious national identity-building quest embarked upon by DPP and President Chen Shui-bian. The analysis consists of three parts. Firstly, a text-analysis of President Chen Shui-bian's speeches is conducted to examine in what way he enforces and legitimizes the identity-building-process through narratives.

This Masters thesis work describes a comparison between two different methods for estimation of the down channel (base station to mobile subscriber) in Wide-band Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA). The first estimation method, Optimal Feed-forward Channel Estimation (OFCE), is a conventional method that bases the estimates on data that is known to both sender and receiver, so called pilots. The second method, Decision Directed Channel Estimation (DDCE), is an elaboration of OFCE. It also uses user data for estimation. Simulations show that DDCE, in comparison to OFCE, does not attain an improvement in signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) for high bit error rates (BER).

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) och konsekvenserna av att ha detta funktionshinder har debatterats mycket på senare år. ADHD anses vara en medfödd uppmärksamhetsstörning av varierande grad som finns hos 3-5 % av befolkningen och påverkar hela livet för den drabbade. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att belysa skillnader i livskvalitet och hälsa hos barn, unga och vuxna med diagnosticerad ADHD i jämförelse med personer som saknar denna neuropsykiatriska störning. Datamaterialet bestod av 11 vetenskapliga artiklar med kvantitativ ansats publicerade år 2000-2008. I resultatet framkom tre områden där skillnader fanns: livskvalitet och fysisk hälsa, livskvalitet och psykisk hälsa samt livskvalitet och social hälsa.

As part of the project Self esteem and Life circumstances among teenagers (started by Johnsson, Lundh & Wångby at Lund University in 2006) results from pilot studies of expressive writing (intervention initially created by Pennebaker and Beall, 1986) among adolescents in six secondary school classes in Sweden were investigated. The study describes changes from pre-test to follow-up on adapted versions of Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and Emotional Tone Index. Different strategies for emotion regulation are focused: voluntary and involuntary engagement and voluntary disengagement (Connor-Smith, Compas, Wadsworth, Harding Thomsen & Saltzman, 2000). The study is explorative. Results show a tendency towards more frequent diary use at follow-up for participants in expressive writing.

Krav på förändringar av länsindelningarna har ofta ställts, ofta med anspråk på att göra dessa större. Ett stort antal statliga utredningar har under årens lopp behandlat frågan.
