This paper is a study and comparison between the two Wireless LAN (WLAN) standards HiperLAN/2 and IEEE 802.11a. WLANs are used instead or together with ordinary LANs to increase mobility in for example an office. HiperLAN/2 is an European standard developed by ETSI and the IEEEs standard is American. A WLAN-card consists roughly of a Medium Access Control (MAC), Physichal layer (PHY) and an antenna. The antenna is the same for the different standards.

Med anledning av dagens konjunkturläge ämnar vi undersöka vilket förtroende de svenska storbankerna har och hur de arbetar för att stärka sina kundrelationer.MetodDetta är en helhetsanalys av Handelsbankens verksamhet där jämförelser genomförs med övriga svenska storbanker; Nordea, Swedbank och SEB. Analysen är övervägande kvalitativ, baserad på information publicerad av bankerna själva, finanstidningar, finansanalytiker samt material från egen intervju.Empiri & AnalysHandelsbanken har etablerat en stark företagskultur i sin decentraliserade organisation. Det finns en låg risktolerans och kostnadsmedvetenhet som genomsyrar hela organisationen.

Basel II planeras att träda i kraft den 1 januari 2007 och kommer sannolikt att få en stor betydelse på den svenska finansmarknaden. Ett grundläggande syfte med mer riskkänsliga kapitaltäckningsregler är att bidra till en prissättning av risk som är mer korrekt, sett ur samhällsekonomisk synvinkel. De nya reglerna torde innebära en förändring i bankernas kundrelationer då bankernas metoder för kreditbedömning blir mer riskkänsliga, vilket i sin tur kan medföra en förändrad situation för såväl bankerna som företagskunderna. Syftet med denna uppsats är att skapa en ökad förståelse kring hur de nya kapitaltäckningsreglerna, Basel II, kommer att förändra bankernas kreditbedömningar och deras kundrelationer gentemot företag. I studien används huvudsakligen ett hermeneutiskt förhållningssätt och utifrån detta har en kvalitativ ansats och ett deduktivt tillvägagångssätt valts.

Background: Sweden and the rest of the world went through the biggest financial crisis at the end of 2008 since the 1930s. The major Swedish banks have goodwill related to their acquisitions inside and outside Scandinavia. Swedbank, SEB and Nordea has acquired in the Baltic countries and Russia, however Handelsbanken has established itself in Great Britain. The crisis in the Baltic countries led that real wages fell, unemployment rose, real estate prices collapsed and the number of borrowers who had trouble repaying their loans increased rapidly. All this led to the problem of impairment of goodwill in the Swedish banks that had expanded rapidly in the Baltic countries.Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the application of IFRS 3 in Swedish banks before, during and after the financial crisis, and to investigate the low-downs in the four majorSwedish banks in 2006-2010.Completion: The study is primarily based on the case studies by the examination of the annual reports from all banks as well as evaluation of the interviews.The authors have chosen to makea strategic choice of a small number of cases through the concentration on the impairment of goodwill in the bank sector of Sweden.Results: The result of this study is that there are problems for banks in implementation of IFRS 3 in practice because of insufficient information in the banks' financial statements.Generous estimates used in the calculation of impairment testing.

Many grocery stores have products marked whit there private brands. The information about these brands is poor. We wanted to find out what the stores own brands stand for and what the manager of purchase thinks it stands for. We choose to concentrate on meat and cured meat and limit our study to ICA, Axfood and Coop because they are the three main actors in the Swedish branch of grocery. The supplier has traditionally manufactured products and made there own brands. These products have been distributed and sold to the consumer thru stores.

Grubbe Ventilation AB is a sheet metal and ventilation company who provides design, installation, service, and repair of ventilation. The company is expanding their business by building a new facility in Umeå, Västerbotten. The property is designed to be used for both office and industrial work.Grubbe Ventelation AB has not yet decided upon wish system which is to be established to provide the building with heating and cooling. The consulting firm Umeå Projekt Team has therefore been asked to investigate the possibilities to invest in geothermal- heating and cooling.If the investigation of a geothermal heating- and cooling system would provide favorable results it would be a very appropriate alternative that provides energy at low costs and are an environmentally friendly option as the energy comes from stored solar energy in the ground is provided by stored solar energy in the ground.The facility ´s heating and cooling consumptions are calculated in the program BV2 and the result indicate a heating demand of 185 000 kWh per year due to thermal transmittance, transmission losses, heating of warm water and a cooling requirement of 5500 kWh.Three different systems of geothermal heating and cooling were tested in the computer program Energy Earth Design. The results show no difference in the dimensioning of the drill hole if merely heating were to be used or both heating and cooling were to be established.
