The aim of this essay is to illustrate a modern phenomenon, the Olympic Games, by applying the ideas of Mircea Eliade concerning space, time and myth. This literature study is mainly divided in two parts, one descriptive and one analytic. In the first part Eliade?s ideas and some criticism, which has been pointed against his theoretical approaches as well as his character, are presented. In the second part an analysis is carried out, based on the previously presented ideas and elements essential for the Olympics; the idea of the Olympics, the place, the ceremonies, the competition and the concept of individual idolism.I have discussed what seems like gnostic tendencies in Eliade?s ideas, in the sense that both Eliade?s ideas and the concept of Gnosticism argue that knowledge is a necessary condition for salvation, as well as the fact that Eliade and his ideas have not always a pro-Christian approach.

The purpose of this literature review was to describe if the nutritional balance of the fats, carbohydrates, proteins and fibers can lead to weight reduction and to improve glucos-/blood lipid for individuals with obesity and type 2 diabetes. The method used was a literature review. Twenty-two scientific articles were chosen, which were consistent with the study purpose and questions. The articles were selected based on searches in the Medline database by PubMed. The keywords used were type 2 diabetes mellitus, diet, obesity, comparative, fat, carbohydrate, low carbohydrate, high fat and saturated fat.

The aim of this essay was to investigate how teachers in the preschool class work with literacy. How do they justify the methods used to develop children's literacy abilities? I also wanted to know to what extent teachers enable multimodal approaches within written language practices. My study considers the impact teachers' professional identity has on working methods in the preschool class. I hope this essay will help teachers reflect on their learning approach. I gathered information by interviewing three preschool teachers and one compulsory school teacher for the early years working in three different preschool classes in three different schools.

Title: Alexander Technique - Different thoughts on the Alexander Technique and its effect on the singing voice. Does singing lessons cause tension in the student? What should you as a teacher consider to avoid situations that cause tension? This examination is based on interviews. The persons who have been interviewed are singing students, singing teachers and teachers in the Alexander Technique. The literature and the interviews describe the Alexander Technique as a method that, with support of a teacher of the Alexander Technique, helps you to recreate the balance between the cranium, neck and spine.

The aim is to examine teachers own experiences of leadership, leadership styles and what good leadership is and to find out how teacher leadership can influence students according to teachers. My questions are: How do teachers evaluate leadership and their own leadership styles?What is good leadership according to teachers?How can the teachers leadership styles affect students in the classroom according to teachers?The method used is a qualitative method based on interviews with five teachers. The reason why I have chosen a qualitative research method is that I believe that this method can give me better results by understanding the world from the interviewees? point of view.I have come to the conclusion that the interviewed teachers believe that leadership and management style play a large role in the teacher's profession and that the teacher's leadership style in the classroom democratic or authoritarian have a major impact on students. The teacher should consider his management and find some sort of balance by exercising both democratic and authoritarian leadership style and adapt it to the situation. And In terms of results regarding good leadership of the interviewed teachers, I can say that good leadership is largely about good relationships between teachers and students and that a teacher can become accepted as leader by winning students confidence..

In the repercussions of these huge auditing scandals, governments all over the world were now founding more restrictive rules and laws about audit independence.

This scientific essay starts in a story where you get to follow me in my work by three situations with creative problem behavior at the special school where I work. The story culminates in a dilemma where I ask myself questions about how I look at my actions and my thoughts about the student. I break down and put these thoughts into three questions: What is my student's perspective and how will it affect my actions? How can I explain my actions and attitude of the student from ethical perspective? How do my practical knowledge look like in the narrative situations and why do I act like I do?My approach is to get answers to the questions by the reflection of the text itself, the reflection group and supervisors, as well as through literature that I find relevant to the issues. The process is like a pendulum motion between text, reflection and new understanding.I look at my situations based on psychological theories about the treatment of persons within the autism spectrum of problems creative behavior.

Background: According to the Swedish Social Board induced abortions are increasing in the modern day society. Nurses who work with in the gynecological department can come across patients seeking care for an induced abortion.Theoretical framework: The findings of the study will be discussed in relation to Peplau's nursing theory, ethical concepts and nursing concepts.Aim: The aim of the literature review was to illuminate the experiences of nurses working with induced abortion.Method: A systematic literature review with an inductive approach was chosen. The findings are based on seven qualitative and two quantitative studies. The articles were assessed through two different modified templates based on qualitative or quantitative design.Findings: Nurses and midwives experienced their work with induced abortions as emotionally stressful. However, it was highlighted that all women have the right whether to choose abortion or to proceed with the pregnancy.

In order to reach the environmental targets, set up by the EU, there are many measures taken to make Sweden more energy efficient. In the housing and real estate sector, an installation of an exhaust air heat pump that reuses the heat in the exhaust air in order to lower the amount of acquired energy, is an example of such an action. The recovered energy can then be used for heating of radiators and tap water. This report aims to evaluate and compare three different systems using exhaust air heat pumps regarding COP, degree of coverage and cost savings. This study was delimited to only account for apartment buildings.The theory chapter describes the different conditions and factors that affect a building?s energy balance.

One of the main goals of the national curriculum is to encourage children?s personal opinion and support them in development of argumentation ability and communication skills. All this is very important for the children as members of the future society.The purpose of this essay is to investigate how primary school teachers estimate the meaning of the pupil?s argumentation as well as which methods and approaches are assumed by the teachers to be most appropriate for children?s argumentation development. The study also considers the questions how the teachers motivate their pupil has to argue in the classroom and how the students by themselves understand the concept of argumentation.

The aim of this thesis is to, through an empirical study ofthe social tags in the City of Stockholm libraries? OPACwith critical discourse analysis, examine the social tags?linguistic design, usability, and communicative potential? all in relation to the context. It is a linguistic study andit is important to take into account that the tags are extremelyshort texts ? single-word-texts. My starting-pointis that the tags are a form of utility texts.What I find is that a clear majority of the tags are nounsand function as index terms, but that there are differencescompared to authorized index terms.

SammanfattningSyfte och frågeställningar: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka om individer med bakgrund av upprepade fotledsstukningar har sämre balans och styrka jämfört med individer som har friska fotleder, samt om det skiljer sig i balans och styrka mellan dominant och icke-dominant fot. Författarnas hypotes är att kronisk instabilitet i fotleden är vanligt förekommande bland kvinnliga fotbolls- och basketspelare som lidit av upprepade fotledsstukningar under sin karriär. Följande tre frågeställningar undersöktes: (1) Har en individ med bakgrund av upprepade stukningar sämre resultat i balanstestet SEBT, jämfört med en individ utan tidigare fotledsproblem? (2) Har en individ med bakgrund av upprepade stukningar lägre styrka, jämfört med en individ utan tidigare fotledsproblem, i ett plantarflexionstest? (3) Skiljer sig resultaten i balans- och styrketestet mellan den dominanta- och den icke-dominanta foten?Metod: Balansförmågan testades genom att mäta räckvidden i en modifierad version av Star Excursion Balance Test. Styrkan uppskattades i ett kvalitativt plantarflexionstest där antal repetitioner räknades.

Our employer Camatec Industriteknik AB gave us the assignments to increase theirs range of versions on Camcoil that is their own patent product. Camcoil is a capstan system that is used when steel band fabricated. Exist for example in production lines their steel band should be annealed. Our goal with this work is to come up with a completed production basis on a Camcoil for heavy industry. The explosion of new digital media puts pressure for developments within copyright law both in Sweden and internationally. These developments are taking place on two different international areas: (1) WIPO which is a part of the UN family and (2) the EU where a new directive on copyright law is being prepared and probably implemented during 2001. The aim of this thesis is twofold: (1) to study which considerations libraries must make when handling the new digital media both under today's copyright laws and under those which are being developed internationally. (2) What will be the consequences, for Swedish libraries, if the new EU-directive on copyright law is implemented in Sweden? By analysing current copyright laws, international treaties and the proposal for a new EU-directive as well as the national debate the thesis brings attention to a number of central issues for libraries.
