Jag har som examensarbete på master-nivå formgivit en sittmöbel med utgångspunkt från min uppväxt i Dalarna. Målet har varit att göra en filosofisk tolkning av mina minnen samt en hyllning till regionen, i synnerhet Borlänge där jag växt upp.Jag har under projektets gång gjort en resa både på ett mentalt och rent fysiskt plan tillbaka till den plats jag växt upp för att utforska mina minnen och därigenom skapa en plattform för mitt designarbete.För att nå mitt resultat har jag använt mig av designmetoder som ITK, intervjuer, skisser, studiebesök, materialtester, mockups samt modelleringsverktyget Rhino.Resultatet är en stol inspirerad av saker som bland annat Ornäs stugan och musikkulturen i Borlänge. Stolen består av en metallkonstruktion, trädetaljer vid fötterna samt armstöden och en sits i läder.For my thesis work on postgraduate level, I have designed a chair based on my upbringing in Dalarna. I denna uppsats har vi intresserat oss för estetikens potential i skolans arbete och ägnat vår uppsats åt att följa projektet Flame. Flame startades under våren 2006 och genomförs av Kulturskolan i samarbete med Utbildningsförvaltningen och Stockholm stad. Projektet riktar sig till yrkesförberedande program och under hösten 2006 har man samarbetat med S:t Eriks och S:t Görans gymnasium i Stockholm. Man säger sig vilja ge eleverna nya redskap för att uttrycka sig med kultur. Ett annat mål för Flame är att undersöka hur metodutveckling kan gå till i praktiken. Syftet med vårt arbete har varit att, utifrån begreppet radikal estetik, undersöka hur man i Flame arbetar med och tänker kring estetik i skolan.

This master thesis is commissioned by Permobil AB. The report describes thoroughly the developing process of an adjustable backrest for wheelchairs. The target group for the backrest are people that suffer from scoliosis or other spinal diseases. Because of insufficient pressure distribution usage of traditional backrests is not an option for them.The current solution has got a frame that is made by several adjustable links that is held in place by friction. Between the links velcro tapes are attached that is adjusts the depth.

Uppsatsen är en studie av svenska Mongolmissionens pionjärverksamhet i Mongoliet och belyser de religiösa värderingar och mål som låg till grund för denna missionsverksamhet. I studien presenteras en kortare historisk tillbakblick och en karaktärsbeskrivning av den man som var upphovet till att Svenska Mongolmissionen bildades - evangelisten Fredrik Franson. Uppsatsens empiridel behandlar den arbetsarena som var missionärernas vardag och belyser deras arbetsvillkor, missions- och sjukvårdsverksamhet, samt de turbulenta politiska förhållandena i Mongoliet vid denna tid. Uppsatsen lyfter fram en kvinnlig aktör, missionären och Röda Kors-systern Greta Nilsson, som genom sin dagbok är en primärkälla i uppsatsen. Frans August Larson, "Hertigen av Mongoliet", är också en viktig aktör som presenteras.

Uppsatsen bygger på den vandringsdagbok som skrevs under 1952-1954 av 24 nyutexaminerade småskollärarinnor från Norrköpings småskoleseminarium. De hade enats om att skriva brev i dagboksform omfattande tre sidor brevtext och sedan låta boken cirkulera runt till samtliga författare. Boken skulle i första hand spegla deras arbete som lärarinnor och viktiga delar av deras privatliv. För några år sedan skänktes böckerna, 23 av 25, till Arbetets museum i Norrköping. Jag har tagit del av breven som omfattar lärarinnornas första arbetsår och försökt analysera deras arbete, privatliv, föreningsliv och deras hemligheter som det speglas i vandringsdagboken.

The food prices in Finland and Sweden have been a subject for discussion for several years back in time. From the opponents against further European integration one have often heard that the EU and EMU entrance have made an negative impact on the food prices. This study show us that the impactof the entrances was extensive in the short run but rather finite and insignificant in the long run.Other important factors that describe why food prices fluctuate is also discussed. The mainconclusion is that other factors than the EU and EMU entrance should be seen as more likely whenit comes to the development of food prices. This report is a bachelor's thesis of two students from the Energy and Environment degree at KTH Stockholm. Grinda is an island situated Stockholm archipelago. Skärgårdsstiftelsen is landowners and manages the area. Grinda Wärdshus, a guest house located in the island, currently uses an oil-fired boiler as a heating system. The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether wood chips or pellets is, from a sustainability standpoint, a suitable heating method for the guest house.

Syftet med föreliggande arbete är att få en inblick i hur svenskläraren kan och bör arbeta med respons på elevers sakprosetexter i svenskämnet för att eleven ska ha så stor nytta av responsen som möjligt. Förutom en överblick av den forskning som gjorts i ämnet har en enkätundersökning om gymnasieelevers uppfattning, tankar och känslor i ämnet sammanställts. Resultaten pekar bl.a. på att eleverna har en alltför stor fokusering på formsidorna av språket som skulle kunna avhjälpas med mer kommentarer på innehållet..

A project exploring the boundaries between 2D and 3D. What is surface and what is substance? A countinuation of previous projects where I?ve examined the journey from two dimensional paper to three dimensonal objects. This project deals with the journey from three dimensonality back into a flat two dimensional surface, and the question if something can be both 2D and 3D at the same time. I decided not to center the project around a specific item, but rather let the project itself be in focus.

In the fall of 2014 a literature review and a scientific study of the topic; "... in the extent to which companies in the industry applies the evaluation of continuous improvement? was conducted at Mälardalen University. These studies are the foundation of this thesis.A strategic improvement is often divided into smaller steps of improvements at each hierarchical level from the top down through the organization. But if there is no response system that can confirm the results of these improvements back through the organization it is very hard to see if the improvements really are improvements or just changes and a waste of resources.

The aim of my study was to describe and interpretate how an international adopted person look back at and describes her learning process individually and in interaction with others. Data are based on one in-depth interview with a phenomenological inspired approach.The findings showed that the interviewee has repressed a great deal of her former life from her country of origin. According to the interviewee, the process of learning in interaction with other people has worked well. She has furthermore never felt that other students have treated her differently based on her appearance. There is some ambivalence in how the interviewee describes this though, which opens up for other interpretations..

SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] penetrated China in spring of 2003, created havoc in the social society, exposed weaknesses within the political system and pushed the nation towards a crisis of confidence. At the same time the crisis revitalised the Party's position, brought people from different social stratum together and had a beneficial impact on the populace's knowledge on health related issues.What makes the SARS crisis in China interesting for further and deeper investigation is the method it chose to respond to its national crisis. They plan of response was indeed a retrogression back to "older" times, using methods and propaganda very much like those used during Mao Zedong and later Deng Xiaoping. The first step of response was denial and cover up of the real situation, which quickly turned to unprecedented transparency, as the magnitude of SARS became known. The Party and the government were quick to proclaim themselves as the bearer of the key knowledge and information on how to best fight the disease, this in sharp contrast to the political trend of more co-operation between the private and public sector and political transparency.

Denna uppsats fokuserar på att fånga upp en relativt ny och växande företeelse inom elektronisk kommunikation, bloggen. Med min undersökning vill jag belysa bloggens möjligheter som ett kommunikationsmedel för ledare inom offentlig verksamhet samt öka förståelsen för vad en blogg är.Ett utmärkande drag för bloggen, som är en uppdaterad webbplats vars startsida karaktäriseras av ett antal daterade texter i omvänd kronologisk ordning, är att den beskrivs som en dagbok med en personlig, subjektiv och vardaglig text utan krav på källkritik av innehållet. Bloggen beskrivs gärna som en form av ?gräsrotsjournalistik? men den används också som strategisk kommunikation till exempel av offentliga aktörer som politiker och företagsledare eller som ett komplement inom traditionella media.Jag har valt att göra en kvalitativ textorienterad analys av tre ledares bloggar: Rektor Kåre Bremer vid Stockholms universitet, vice-ordförande Margot Wallström vid EU-kommissionen och generaldirektör Andreas Carlgren vid Integrationsverket. Jag ville veta vad de bloggar om, hur de använder sig av attributet och hur pass privat eller offentligt deras kommunikation är.I min undersökning kom jag fram till att de tre ledarskribenterna använder bloggen/elektronisk kommunikation som ett strategiskt redskap att kommunicera men de gör det på lite olika sätt.Margot Wallström använder sig av sin privata sfär som metod för sin strategiska kommunikation samtidigt som hon verkar i det offentliga rummet.

Det positiva sambandet mellan stress och idrottsskador är väl dokumenterat i litteraturen. Ett ökat antal psykologiska skadeförebyggande interventioner visar att det är möjligt att förebygga idrottsskador genom kognitiv beteendeträning. Användandet av biofeedback tillsammans med kognitiv beteendeträning i skadeförebyggande syfte är dock en relativt outforskad interventionsstrategi (Johnson, 2007). Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det genom interventionsbaserad kognitiv beteendeträning i kombination med biofeedbackanvändning gick att minska antalet idrottsskador för fotbollsspelare. Deltagare ifrån fyra idrottsgymnasier (16-19 år) delades in i en experimentgrupp (n=13) och en kontrollgrupp (n=14).

A reward cycle for investigating the emotional status in animals has been developed and it requires that animals go through three main phases, i.e. anticipation, consumption and relaxation. The reward cycle has not been tested previously for access to play in pigs. Therefore, the aim of this Master thesis was to investigate if growing pigs showed more behaviours indicative of excitement than pigs that were not allowed to play, performed play in a play arena and showed more behaviours indicative of relaxation after play when they were back to their home pen than pigs that were in their home pen the whole time. Forty undocked piglets (10 litters of Specific Pathogen Free half pure-bred Yorkshire and half hybrids of Yorkshire x Landrace balanced for breed between two treatments were used.
