The aim of this study has been to examine the role of control mechanisms when it comes to building relationships in a small business network. In order to reach this goal, we have performed a case study of a Swedish supplier of machines to the engineering industry, which acts as the exclusive representative of a foreign manufacturer on the Swedish market. Main results: A number of control mechanisms, both formal and informal, could be identified in the network. Their specific use, as well as relative importance differ between different actors in the network. In general, the importance of formal control mechanisms decreases as the relationship evolves over time and the importance of informal ones, mainly trust, increases in a corresponding manner..

In soundscape research, the field?s methods can be employed in combination with approaches involving sound quality attributes in order to create a deeper understanding of sound images and soundscapes and how these may be described and designed. The integration of four methods are outlined, two from the soundscape domain and two from the sound engineering domain. This study has shown that by combining these methods the understanding of both the entire soundscape and the specific sounds increase. The upper secondary school has not gotten the same attention.We have chosen to explore how social science teachers in upper secondary school treat the subject of gender and gender equality, what strategies they apply in the classroom and how their pupils respond to the subject.We wanted to get access to their classrooms so we could do an ethnographical study to find the answers to how their lessons were planned and executed, if different teachers made different didactic choices depending on the orientation of the class. As our work progressed we ran in to an interesting problem which ultimately made us rethink the purpose of this paper.In our pursuit of respondents we contacted many schools by e-mail and later visited the schools to find participants. This proved difficult as we were met with a wall of silence and lack of interest.

Gender, age at the time of the award, whether they won individually or in groups, their employer at the time of the award, subject of the winning material and where it was first published, were the variables. A total of 268 award winners were characterized from these variables and a statistic analysis were made.The statistic analysis showed that there has been a dominant group among the award winners.Between the years of 1966-2014 the typical award winner was a man between 31-40 years old, who worked individually for public service. The winning material was mainly published in the printed press.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to study whether bibliometrics can serve as a method to analyse the humanities.To investigate this a literature study was conducted that examined previous studies concerning bibliometrics and the humanities. Furthermore a bibliometric analysis of comparative literature was carried out. These research findings were then further examined through the perspective of theories on intellectual and social organization of the scienceThe bibliometrical study includes 38 literature journals (11 855 articles in total) which were downloaded from ISI's Web of Science. The material was analysed by using co-citation analysis and co-word analysis. The results of the study are presented in five co-citation maps.

Recent studies indicate that teaching the theory of evolution in Swedish secondary schools is not as uncontroversial as expected considering that Sweden is often described as one of the World?s most secularzied countries. A recent study indicates that Swedish teachers have a varity of tactics to avoid coming in conflict with their students or even parents of students that believe they have a rightto dictate how evolution should be taught. This study had fourmain aims; the first being to analyse both the previous curriculum and the new to see how the teaching of evolution is adressed, and if any changes have been made in the curriculum. The second being to look into how teachers interpret the curriculumand if they have noticed any changes in the new curriculum which have had an affect on their teachingmethods? The third being if teachers have met resistance when they teach evolution and the origins of life, and if so, how do they deal with these conflicts? The fourth and final aim of this study was to see if instances of conflict are on the rise as indicatedin the literature.The results of this study indicate that there has been no siginificant changes made in the curriculum with the exceptionthat the new curriculum is more clear and precise as to what teachers are expected to teach and that pseudoscience, such as intelligent design, has no place in science classroomsexcept when teachingthe philosophy of science.

There are lots of theories about participatory democracy, but rather few examples of how to create it in practice. In the 1930´s, scientists at the Chicago School, implemented some projects within the Chicago Area Project, with the aim to decrease the youth delinquency in the socio disadvantaged areas surrounding Chicago. In this thesis, I assess wether these projects, and in particular the one at the Russell Square Area, have some common features with the thoughts of two of the most famous participatory democrats, Carole Pateman and Benjamin Barber. My question is if the Chicago Area Project could be seen as an experiment in participatory democracy. I find that participatory democrats could benefit from the experiences of the Chicago Area Project.

This report describes the implementation of expense reporting in a mobile web application. Two different types of expenses could be reported: remuneration and time deviations. In addition to the creation of new expenses, existing expenses should be able to be edited or deleted. The Swedish Library Classification System, known as the SAB-system, can be viewed as a product of the cultural and social norms and values in Sweden during the time in which it was created and subsequently reviewed. The main purpose of this master?s thesis is to examine the archaeology section J in the SAB-system, in order to observe if values and norms within this discipline had any impact on the Swedish Library classification system. Our intention is therefore to verify any correspondence between the choice of topics and hierarchical structure of that section, and the values and norms that ruled the Swedish society during the 20th century at large but with particular emphasis to the academic discipline of Archaeology. At the present, Archaeology is often disputed as a value-free interpretive science.
