Uppsatsen undersöker fyra artiklar ur den konservativa kulturtidsskriften Axess magasin, vilka orsakade två infekterade kulturdebatter åren 2008 och 2009 i Sverige. Dessa artiklar menade att skönheten gått förlorad i samtidskonsten och riktade sin kritik mot det rådande kulturetablissemanget. Axess menade att det modernistiska normbrytande idealet allt för länge varit ett kriterium för god konst och de förespråkade därför ett alternativ till denna norm.
