Är Big bath en, av aktiemarknaden, accepterad redovisningspraxis?

The study tries to increase the understanding of the phenomenon known as the Big bath, on the question whether the market accepts Big bath accounting principle or not. Big bath is an accounting theory meaning that a company is likely to increase its impairment in a specific year. This could be as a reaction on a change in the leadership, a depreciation of the result or maybe an external decrease in demand. Through a quantitative survey of the market it is examining whether the companies themselves are inclined to use the procedure and if the stock market accepts it. The study concludes that Big bath similar procedures are a fairly common accounting practice and that the stock market does not seem to mind. .

Direct-EGR tillämpat på HCCI

The Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine is promising in terms of lowNOx, low particulates and high efficiency. Due to its homogeneous charge, where thecombustion starts almost simultaneously from a number of points in the combustion chamber,only lean mixtures are possible to burn because of the resulting rapid combustion, which is muchfaster than the combustion in an SI-engine or a diesel engine. When richer mixtures are used thecombustion will start earlier and also be more violent.To phase the combustion later and lower the combustion speed, external cooled EGR can beused. The EGR-system used in this thesis uses a divided exhaust channel where one channel andits corresponding valve are used only for transporting EGR back to the intake system.Consequently the EGR-valve is connected to the intake pressure. This system is called Direct-EGR (D-EGR).Engine tests verified that the CA50 indeed is phased later when cooled EGR is used.

The study has a qualitative approach and the theoretical part is based on Castells', Giddens' and Bauman's theories of modern society and employment in relation to the individual. The aim of this paper is to describe the characteristics of the sport journalistic weblog. To achieve this we have used the following questions: Which themes are included in the sport journalistic weblog? How much text does the sport journalistic weblog content? How often is multimediality incorporated in the sport journalistic weblog? Which references occur in the sport journalistic weblog? How many hyperlinks occur in the sport journalistic weblog? How many of the hyperlinks is internal respective external? How often does the sport journalistic weblog offers possibilities to interaction between the journalist and the reader? In this master thesis we are trying to investigate whether the heads of the four major Swedish banks are receiving compensation because of their own performance. We have investigated a number of parameters in the reporting and compensation description of Handelsbanken, Nordea, SEB and Swedbank and compared it to macro data.We have used publicly available information from the banks as well as macro data from 1998 to 2009.We have come to the conclusion that the revenue and profits of the banks are heavily influenced by external factors and that there does not appear to be a clear link between a CEOs actions, the reported results for the bank, the shareholder gains and the compensation for the CEO. It appears as if the bonus payments to a CEO may depend more on parameters beyond the CEOs own control than the performance of the CEO..

When investigating mechanical problems it is often more convenient to deal with scalars rather than vectors. In this project methods stemming from the field of analytical mechanics, which lets one derive the equations of motion using scalar quantities instead of vectors, have been used. Two mechanical problems were investigated, a double pendulum with a spring and particles orbit in a sphere. The equations of motion of the two systems were derived with the assistance of computer algebra, using Maple and the external package Sophia. Ett lagförslag som lades fram år 2003 vilket om det gick igenom skulle innebära att en stor del av de kunder som är anslutna till elnätet kommer att behöva elmätare som går att läsa av automatiskt. En automatisk avläsning innebär att elbolagen kan läsa av mätaren oftare och därigenom debitera kunden för faktisk förbrukning i stället för dagens schablonberäkning som korrigeras efter en manuell avläsning. Kunden kan även få ut information om när han eller hon förbrukar som mest el och därefter anpassa sig för att minska förbrukningen. Syftet med detta arbete har varit att ta fram en enkel och billig lösning för insamling av mätdata över elnätet. Enheten som togs fram kan strömförsörjas från en befintlig elmätare och logga förbrukning via dess S0-pulsutgång.

Since there has been some hesitation of the accuracy of the price-model of today, a master's thesis has been advertised. Utvecklingen av kontextmedvetna applikationer har gett informationsteknologin nya möjligheter att låta användningen av tekniken gå mot den värld som beskrivs i Ubiquitous Computing. Forskning visar att en automatisk kontextanpassning kan ha negativ effekt på en användares tillit mot en applikations beteende. Därför har vi undersökt hur feedback kan användas för att generera en känsla av tillit mellan en användare och en kontextmedveten applikation. I genomförandet använde vi en explorativ designstudie. För att bygga vår undersökning från en teoretiskt informerad grund utformade vi ett antal designprinciper från teorier inom relaterade områden.

AUTOMATISERING AV KAPMASKIN

Weland AB är ett familjeföretag som startade 1947 med sitt huvudkontor i Smålandsstenar. Här finns ungefär 250 anställda som jobbar på ca 60 000 kvadratmeter. Ryggraden i Welands verksamhet är tillverkning av pressvetsad gallerdurk som går att se i konstruktioner som trappor, både spiral och raka.Projektet grundar sig i att ljudnivån vid en maskin för kapning av gallerdurk är hög och därför har personalomsättningen också varit hög. Syftet med projektet är att konstruera komplement till en kapmaskin för att göra den helautomatisk. Det skulle göra att en operatör inte behöver vara närvarande mer än för att förse maskinen med material, programmera maskinen och bortföra pallar med färdigt gods.

Implementering av mjukvarubaserat PLC-system för reglering av magnetiseringen av en synkrongenerator

In order to reduce the price for, and improve the performance of automatic control systems for magnetization of synchronus generators, the possibilities of using a PC based software PLC system, Programmable Logic Controller, has been investigated. The result is a system based on the CoDeSys software PLC with runtime environment from 3S-Software, communicating with external units via Modbus fieldbus. System price is reduced from ?5000 to ?2000 and system processing speed is reduced from 10 ms for a Siemens S7 PLC to 4 ms with the CoDeSys PLC system though unsolved problems with runtime seizure caused by improper settings in the PC BIOS..
