Volvo Wheel Loaders är en av världens ledande tillverkare av hjullastare. Examensarbetet är utfört på huvudfabriken, som ligger i Arvika. Bakgrunden till projektet är att det finns en vilja från ledningen att införa statistisk processtyrning (SPS) i produktionen. Viljan kommer av krav i kvalitetssystemet och att framtida investeringar i automatiserad häftsvetsning kommer att kräva större precision i produktionen. Examensarbetets syfte var att inleda och underlätta ett införande av SPS.

The aim of this master thesis is to discuss the access to literature and reading by mentally retarded persons, and how this is affected by library and care taking staffs awareness of mentally retarded persons needs of literature and reading. The reason why we decided to choose this essay topic, is that there is a lack of research about mentally retarded persons relationship with libraries, literature and reading in the field of library- and information science. This groups needs must be brought to sight, so that they can take part in the literature just as anyone else, on their own conditions. Our study involves interviews with four librarians, three reading representatives and a co-ordinator at the Easy-to-Read Foundation. We can establish that all of our informants prove to have significant knowledge about mentally retarded persons and their needs of literature and reading.

I följande uppsats undersöker vi hur rekryteringsprocessen ser ut i teori och praktik. Ämnet är aktuellt eftersom rekryteringsprocessen förändras i takt med samhällsutvecklingen. Vidare är ämnet relevant då arbetsmarknaden ständigt utvecklas vilket bland annat medför nya riktlinjer inom mångfald och jämställdhet. Detta ställer nya krav på rekryterare av anledningen att de aktivt bör förhålla sig till aktuella rekommendationer inom rekrytering. Studiens syfte är att studera hur rekryteringsprocessen tillämpas i bemanningsföretag respektive övriga privata företag samt undersöka i vilken utsträckning den ideala rekryteringsmodellen förekommer i de olika företagsformerna.

This essay is about democracy and how a democracy index can be used as a tool to illustratethe gap between reality and ideal. The purpose of this study can be expressed by two researchquestions: Does the Economist Intelligence Unit's (EIU) democracy index illustrate thedistance between reality and the ideal of democracy presented by Dahl? and Can the EIU'sdemocracy index be modified by a) internal adjustments and b) using the variables includedin World Economic Forum?s (WEF) equality index?By using a combination of theories (Dahl?s theory of democracy, Rawls theory of justice andchosen theories critical to liberal democracy) as an analytical framework the following twoquestions have been answered:1) Which of the variables included in the EIU's democracy index have the potential to capturethe level of political equality?2) Which of the variables included in the WEF?s equality index have the potential to capturethe degree of political equality?By using a quantitative method the study?s third and last question has been answered:3) How strong is the rank correlation between the EIU?s democracy index and the WEF?sequality index, that is; how strong is the rank correlation coefficient (rho)?The data presented by the WEF?s equality index indicate that women are systematicallydiscriminated against as a group. From a democratic perspective the EIU may need tomeasure inequalities at a group level in order to capture the lack of political equality betweenindividuals. By reformulating some of the EIU?s variables, by revising the EIU?s point systemand by using the variables included in the WEF's equality index to extend EIU?s democracyindex, the chances of capturing the gap between reality and the ideal of democracy presentedby Dahl would likely increase..

Bakgrund: Testmaterialet Bedömning av Subtila Språkstörningar (BeSS) togs fram för att bedöma subtila språkliga svårigheter hos bland annat personer med neurodegenerativa sjukdomar. Testet har sedan använts bland annat i dyslexiutredningar då subtila språkliga svårigheter kan förekomma även vid dyslexi.  BeSS saknar dock referensmaterial för flera åldersgrupper vilket behövs för att logopeder ska kunna göra tillförlitliga bedömningar med materialet. Mål: Att låta gymnasieungdomar genomgå BeSS och sammanställa ett referensmaterial. Att se om det föreligger några prestationsskillnader mellan deltesten och könsskillnader. Metod: I studien deltog 28 gymnasieungdomar, 16 flickor och 12 pojkar, vilka testades enskilt med BeSS. Deltagarna fick inte ha några kända språkliga svårigheter eller läs-/skrivsvårigheter. Övriga krav var att deltagarna gått i svensk skolklass och fått svensk undervisning på svenska under minst 8 år. Resultat: Det totala medelvärdet för testgruppen (alla deltesten sammanräknade) var 172 poäng av 210 möjliga med standardavvikelsen 14,5.

Tidigare forskning har visat att barn med typisk utveckling går från en visuell strategi till en fonologisk. Huruvida denna utveckling sker hos personer med utvecklingsstörning är oklart. De flesta forskare är överens om att dessa personer har en nedsättning i den fonologiska loopen. Om denna nedsättning beror på strukturella avvikelser eller utvecklingsförsening är forskarna inte eniga om. Det är även oklart var en eventuell strukturnedsättning skulle sitta.

The aim of this literature study was to give a clear picture of what gastric dilatation-volvulus is, and how the acute- and postoperative treatment and care is managed. The general aim is to support and help the veterinary technicians in their clinical work. Gastric dilatation volvulus is always an emergency. The primarily goal when these dogs are hospitalized is to establish an adequate cardiovascular function. This is done by immediate intravenous fluid therapy followed by decompression of the dilated stomach.

Införandet av en mobil intensivvårdsgrupp (MIG) har visat sig ha goda resultat utomlands med minskade andningsstopp och mortalitet inom pediatrisk vård. Vid Astrid Lindgrens Barnsjukhus i Solna, Sverige (ALB) finns långt framskridna planer på att starta en MIG-verksamhet. Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva pediatriska patienter som faller in under potentiella MIG-kriterier innan inläggning på barnintensivvårdsavdelningen/barnintermediäravdelningen (BIVA/BIMA) på ALB. Studien gjordes retrospektivt genom journalgranskning av inskrivna pediatriska patienter på BIVA/BIMA under 2009. Totalt inkluderades 148 pediatriska patienter i åldern 0-18 år i studien.

För att skapa en mer flexibel monteringsbana, vill företaget se om det går att utföra mätningarna med annan teknik, samt om det då går att minska antalet mätstationer i flödet. The purpose of this study is to investigate how teachers work with Autism pupils in two different schoolforms: a traditional elementary school and a language school. The study was based on three questions: 1. How do teachers in elementary school prepare, plan and implement reading and writing instruction to Autism pupils? 2. How do teachers in the language unit prepare, plan and implement their reading and writing instruction to Autism pupils? 3.

This case study has been conducted within the Swedish fitness chain World Class to explore the opportunities for knowledge development and transfers within franchise networks. We have interviewed the product manager at the World Class headquarter, the owner of a franchise club and a local product manager from the same facility. Our finding indicates that various forms of knowledge transfer occur within the World Class network, particularly in product development and sales. The transfer occurs within the framework set by World Class with regularly scheduled meetings. In addition informal networks provide other means of knowledge exchange between some units.

Bakgrund: Traditionellt sett har det svenska sparandet i företagsobligationer varit lågt. På grund av löpande budgetunderskott och en stor statsskuld har statlig upplåning dominerat den svenska obligationsmarknaden i många år. På senare tid har det dock skett en förändring, i takt med ökade budgetöverskott och en reducering av statsskulden har den svenska statens lånebehov minskat. Detta i kombination med fallande marknadsräntor och en låg realränta har bidragit till ett växande intresse för företagsobligationer. Det finns endast ett fåtal tidigare studier av den svenska företagsobligationsmarknaden och inte en enda av dem berör och ifrågasätter rådande marknadsstruktur, en telefonbaserad mäklarmarknad, i någon större omfattning.Syfte: Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka varför den svenska företagsobligationsmarknaden inte har utvecklats till en fungerande elektronisk auktionsmarknad i likhet med aktiemarknaden och dessutom undersöka vad som skulle krävas för att en sådan marknad skulle kunna uppstå.Avgränsningar: Studien fokuserar på marknaden för svenska företagsobligationer i Sverige.
