Ett av de mest omtalade fenomenen de senaste åren har varit den snabba utvecklingen av digitala medier och sociala nätverk. Teknologin har utvecklats från att ha varit något som användes ibland och var till för arbete och underhållning, till att vara en stor del av livet och för vissa en nödvändighet. De nya medierna och sociala nätverken är idag en stor del av mångas vardag och påverkar hur vi tar in information, kommunicerar och utrycker våra tankar och idéer. Under de senaste åren har allt fler organisationer valt att ta in sociala medier i sin marknadsföringsstrategi och organisationerna har företagsprofiler på bland annat Facebook och YouTube för att kommunicera med kunderna. Yngre generationer har växt upp med tekniken och sociala medier vilket är en resa som äldre inte har följt med på och därför är en vanlig uppfattning idag att endast yngre generationer använder sig av de nya mediekanalerna.

Because of new emission and on board diagnostics legislations, heavy truck manufacturers are facing new challenges when it comes to improving the engines and the control software. Accurate and real time executable engine models are essential in this work. One successful way of lowering the NOx emissions is to use Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR). The objective of this thesis is to create a mean value model for Scania's next generation EGR system consisting of a poppet valve and a two stage cooler. The model will be used to extend an existing mean value engine model.

Den här studien undersöker hur faktorerna etnicitet, genus, funktionsförmåga, generation/ålder och klass ur ett intersektionellt perspektiv skapas, rekonstrueras och samspelar i läslärorna Den magiska kulan och Briljant svenska. Studien har genomförts med hjälp av en kritisk diskusanalys enligt Faircloughs tredimensionella modell och är uppdelad i två delstudier. Syftet är att se hur dessa faktorer skildras samt undersöka samspelet mellan dessa. Vidare diskuterar studien vilka normer och värderingar som kan tänkas förmedlas i och med användandet av de aktuella läslärorna. Studien visar att böckerna skapar och upprätthåller en gräns mellan minoritet och majoritet, där majoriteten tillskrivs en överordnad roll. .

Intervjuer med kunniga på AIS-området har utförts parallellt med en enkät riktad till aktiva befäl ute till sjöss. Detta i syfte att ta reda på dels hur detta hjälpmedel bör användas vad avser antikollision, dels hur det faktiskt används i praktiken.AIS, Automatic Identification System, är ett informationsdelningssystem som hjälper fartyg att navigera säkert genom att sända ut egen navigationsdata och samtidigt ta emot motsvarande information från andra fartyg. Systemet nyttjas även som informationssystem för landbaserade stationer såsom VTS-centraler och kustbevakning.Undersökningen har engagerat och visat att expertisen anser att AIS, i många avseenden, är ett bra och användbart hjälpmedel som bör komplettera övrig utrustning vid bedömning om kollisionsrisk. Vidare visar enkäten att ARPA-systemet, trots vissa inneboende brister, tillmäts större förtroende än AIS och AIS-vektorer används därför sparsamt. Enkäten visar även att en stor del av de aktiva inte är främmande för att göra avsteg från sjövägsreglerna emedan expertisen i huvudsak avråder från sådant..

The project was carried out with SwedSafe AB, engaged in hearing and manufacture of earplugs. Since the company is a world leader in the sale of these products, it is important that they keep a higher level of quality of these products.Production of earplugs is currently a automated manufacturing process that is divided into four conveyor belts and one of the conveyor belts is what will be affected in the project. The belt affected during this process is exposed to various elements such as filling, closing, fermentation and extraction of products. Because the belt gets dirty, degraded products and the work environment is affected. To increase the quality of products and improve the working environment requires an automatic cleaning process, which collects dirt from the belt.The aim of the project is to design a machine that prevents the belt from becoming dirty, preserve molds clean and improve the working environment without disrupting production.

The energy sector is facing an impending paradigm shift. Today?s technology enables the end-user to generate their own energy locally at home. Furthermore, recently developed storage technologies make it possible to balance energy demand with stored energy and integrate district heating with the local power grid. This means that in the future heat and electric power will interact and energy flows is converted over energy boundaries.

This thesis aims at examining to what extent a few, algorithmically very easily extractable document features can be used to classify electronic documents according to genre. A set of experiments is therefore carried out, using only 11 such simple features in an attempt to classify 84 documents belonging to electronic academic journals into three manually identified genres: table of contents, article, and review. The 11 features are also divided into three sets, containing metrics of words and sentences; punctuation marks; and URL links, respectively. The performance when using these sets of features is then measured with regard to classification accuracy, using a k-NN classifier, four different values of k (1, 3, 5, 7), and both leave-one-out and 10-fold cross-validation. Best results are achieved when using all three feature sets (i.e.

Offentlig skulptur är en viktig del av ett samhälles/en stads offentliga miljö. Tillsammans med arkitekturen blir det samhället/stadens ansikte. 1960-talet var en brytningstid, konstdebatten tog fart i Sverige en ny generation konstnärer var på väg. De var gränsöverskridande både i fråga om uttrycksmedel och tekniker. Konsten fick en ny funktion, den skulle förmedla ett budskap den skulle ta ställning i samhällsdebatten.

De senaste åren har mjölkbesättningarna i Sverige förändrats. Det mest dominerande sättet har varit att hålla korna bundna men efterhand som mjölkgårdarna har rationaliserats och blivit modernare har det blivit vanligare att många lantbrukare ställt om till lösdrift. År 2007 bestämde jordbruksverket att alla nya stallar som ska byggas för mjölkkor ska vara lösdriftssystem, vilket innebär att våra bundna besättningar kommer försvinna i framtiden. Det här examensarbetet har ställt frågan till mjölkproducenter med bundna kor hur de ser på framtiden för sina besättningar. Idag (2011) finns det 348 100 mjölkkor i Sverige. Av dem står ungefär hälften i uppbundna system.

The gas turbines in the Swedish secondary reserve are reaching the end of their technical lifetime, hence alternative solutions need to be considered. One of the solutions thought to have the greatest potential is the use of so called consumptionreduction. By entering contracts with large consumers, agreements are made to reduce consumption in the event of major disturbances in the power system and thus being used as a secondary reserve. This thesis investigates the feasibility of consumption reduction as part of the secondary reserve. This has been achieved by developing a requirement specification for the disturbance reserve and by studying the technical and economic potential for consumption reduction among a range of consumers.The technical potential for consumption reduction that fulfils the requirements for participating in the secondary reserve are on average 750 MW in SE 3 and 98 MW in SE 4.

Vi har i detta arbete med hjälp av genomförda djupintervjuer, samt tidigare forskning i ämnet försökt att belysa åtta individers "resa" genom utbildningssamhället. Detta från ganska enkla förhållanden, till positioner som kan betraktas som tämligen unika sett till deras ursprung, samtid och samhällsklass. Vi har utifrån dessa personers berättelser sedan försökt knyta an till den allmänna samhällsutvecklingen, likväl som utbildningssituationen sett över tid. Detta för att på så sätt åstadkomma en helhetsbild i ämnet. Intervjumaterialet har sedan sammanställts i olika teman där intressanta beröringspunkter men även särskiljande drag lyfts fram.

Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att utifrån perspektivet att socionomer inom olika verksamheter är i behov av att veta hur ickeheterosexuella kvinnor känner sig bemötta i samhället ta reda på just de subjektiva beskrivningarna av detta. Detta har gjorts genom intervjuer med sex stycken ickeheterosexuella kvinnor i åldern 20 till 45 år. Materialet har visat att synlighet i media kan spela roll för samhällets attitydförändringar. De senare årens lagar har också av mina intervjupersoner upplevts spela roll för attityderna. Även ålder och generation verkar kunna spela roll när det gäller öppenhet och attityder till ickeheterosexuella kvinnor..

The reason for performing an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is to incorporate environmental concern in different kinds of plans and projects. The purpose of such an assessment is to identify and describe direct, indirect and cumulative environmental impacts.Geographical Information System (GIS) is a tool that can be used to combine spatial extension of both sensitive areas and different environmental impacts in a quick and easy way. Because of that, descriptions of environmental impacts and motivation of different standpoints on a specific issue can be more correct and easier to make if GIS is used as a tool.Hence, GIS can contribute to improve the quality of Environmental Impact Assessments. If the benefits of using GIS are to out weight the costs, geographical information of satisfactory detail, actuality and accuracy need to be available at reasonable prices.In this paper, case studies are carried out for three different geographical analyses to investigate the use of GIS as a tool in EIA. From these case studies, more general conclusions about the benefits and limitations of using GIS for Environmental Impact Assessments are also drawn.

Retail marketing is a field with many different enbranchements. Some of these can be considered relatively well explored, while the lack of knowledge concerning others is almost total. For example, the existing knowledge regardng the possible impact that non-musical sound can have on the customer can be considered non-existent. With this in mind, the intention with the thesis was to closer investigate how non-musical sound can influence the customer's decision process and attitude in and to a grocery store. The authors started out with theories on associative networks and automatic processing.
