Safety, its a word not commonly associated with elderly people living alone. There is however a device that is supposed to bring safety, and enable elderly people to continue living in their present household - an emergency dialer. However these devices does not serve their own purpose in terms of design. Thepurpose of this study is to create an emergency dailer that everybody would want to put on their wrist or bedside table. The market for these devices have looked the same for the last twentyfive years, despite of society´s advancements in both design and technology.

This bachelor thesis examines and discusses the question: "How can graphics for newscasts be adapted to follow technological developments in various media and increase its informative quality?" The work was performed on Swedish Television's own graphic department, SVT design in order to examine how news graphics need to be developed to follow the technological changes in media. Cleanboxen som den kallas är en flashbaserad2 produktpresentation. Simply Quality är ett företag som gör analyser och mäter renhet hos olika föremål på partikelnivå. Ett exempel på detta kan vara att ett företag som tillverkar bildelar skickar en del efter produktion för att få en analys på hur mycket partiklar/smuts som sitter kvar efter tillverkning. Vårt arbete var att ta fram en produktpresentation för deras mobila labb som säljs till företag som vill kunna göra sina analyser på plats. Behovet var att på något sätt kunna presentera Cleanboxen visuellt för sina kunder..

Arbetet är uppdelat i två delar. Den första handlar om min egen medverkan i kortfilmen O Trovão och hur organisationen och planeringen runt filmen är upplagd. Den andra delen handlar om animationsbranschen och olika landers marknader for animerad film och tv. Den innefattar också två intervjuer med kortfilmskapare. I kortfilmsproduktionen har jag tillsammans med teamet gått igenom de första faserna i produktionen, från planering och research, till koncept och modellering.

The thesis is based on a case study of a Swedish discussion forum where survivalism and prepping is the main focus. The awareness of an abrupt and immanent breakdown together with a full and thorough preparation for any conceivable threat posed by that breakdown is what legitimizes survivalism and prepping. This preparation, or risk-proofing is 1) grounded in an isolation of the body and its predispositions from perceived risks, and 2) actualized through artefacts, theoretical and practical knowledge and awareness. Stories of the embodied survivalist are also stories of masculine and heterosexual subjects and ?the others?.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate how a valuation model of a Private Equity firm is interpreted into a management control system within the company's different organizational levels. A case study was developed based on the infra-net company Eltel. The management control systems developed by Malmi and Brown (2008)(1) was used to characterize the control systems at each organizational level. The aim of the study is to investigate how a teacher uses multimodal resources with an interactive whiteboard while teaching reading and writing. The aim is also to investigate what view the teacher has on using an interactive whiteboard while teaching reading and writing. Video-recorded observations and audio-recorded interviews are the methods used to collect data. The analysis was performed from a multimodal perspective and is also inspired by interaction analysis. The result of the analysis showed that the teacher uses several multimodal sign systems in combination with those found on the interactive whiteboard.
