This is a master thesis on how to develop the central area of Norra Fäladen, a suburban housing area in the town of Lund, Sweden. The area is discussed on the basis of literature studies, analysis, and place descriptions, which leads on to a proposal. The starting point for the proposal is to create a more lively local centre and to make the area pleasanter for the visitor. A large part of the thesis is devoted to giving a background about local centres and to describe and analyse the area. Fäladstorget has an important role as a central place for supply and services and as a local meeting place for the inhabitants of Norra Fäladen.

What psychologial processes are activated in experiencing mourning after a loss of a belovedperson? How is death described in other authors? novels and short stories compared to mine?This essay aims at analysing my two short stories The follower and The price for love fromdifferent aspects. I discuss the psychological realism and the spirituality using the method ofclose reading, interpreting and applying ideas of texts from other authors in my short stories.Death is a central phenomenon in both of my texts. Therefore I discuss death frompsychological and philosophical aspects in this essay. To get a philosophical frame of death Iturn to Jacques Derrida, Emmanuel Levinas and Martin Heidegger.

In today's society there are a lot of offers towards consumers, where they actively have to choose the most appealing offer. In order for an offer to be attractive it must add value in line with the customers demand. Also, it requires that the offer provides a sufficient level of attraction so that the customer selects the particular product/service over another. Furthermore, each offer must exceed the expectations of the visitors to an event, so they feel that the event is something "extraordinary". We have chosen to study how LHC (Linkoping Hockey Club) works with marketing in order to improve the overall customer experience.

Combustion of fossil fuels is today the dominating source of energy. During combustion,carbon dioxide is formed. The carbon dioxide accumulates in the Atmosphere,which raises the global average temperature on earth through the so called greenhouseeffect. The only way to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide from combustionin a coal fired power plant is through carbon capture and storage (CCS).Post-combustion capture is a technology to separate carbon dioxide from the uegas after the combustion for efficient transport and storage. The steady state operationof coal fired power plants with post combustion capture has already beenthoroughly investigated on a pilot scale, however much work remains to investigatethe plants dynamic operation.

The purpose of the house which is the basis of this report is to be able present itself on the market as a relatively cheap and at the same time a climate friendly choice. The house is supposed to be able to be built anywhere in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia in a short period of time. This puts demand on what kind of heating system the house can have, since not all places have the geographic advantage of being able to use geothermal or district heating. Therefore the heating system choices will only include those that are not limited by their geographic location. The house will be built in modules which only require the groundwork to be done before the house can be erected. In this report "System solutions for plus or passive-housing" a comprehensive literature search has been conducted as well as a number of calculations.

Bakgrund: I dagsläget finns det relativt gott om studier om amyotrofisk lateralskleros (ALS) med en medicinsk utgångspunkt, som inriktar sig på att försöka finna en medicinsk behandling till sjukdomen, samt studier som belyser hur personer med ALS skattar sin livskvalitet. Dock finns färre studier som beskriver hur sjukdomen upplevs ur ett patientperspektiv. För att kunna bidra med stöd och hjälp till personer som drabbats av ALS behöver kunskapen hos olika vårdprofessioner och däribland sjuksköterskor utökas, både genom nya studier och genom syntetisering av tidigare genomförda studier inom området. Syfte: Studien syftar till att beskriva upplevelsen av att leva med ALS ur ett patientperspektiv. Metod: För att sammanställa och fördjupa tidigare kunskap om hur det är att leva med ALS gjordes en systematisk litteraturstudie över vårdvetenskapliga artiklar som innehöll tidigare forskning inom området.

Idag finns hälsoskillnader mellan könen, vilka delvis beror på ojämställda förhållanden i samhället, som uppkommit av värderingar för hur kvinnor och män ska vara. En förändring av värderingar kan ske i skolan där läraren har en betydelsefull roll. I lärarutbildningen förekommer ingen kontinuerlig undervisning kring hur lärarstudenterna ska integrera ettgenusperspektiv i sin framtida yrkesroll. Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka på vilket sätt lärarstudenter anser sig kunna arbeta med jämställdhet i skolan ur ett lärande- och hälsofrämjande perspektiv. Datainsamlingen har skett genom tio intervjuer med lärarstudenter.

Climate changes today are mainly caused by anthropogenic activities and the increased emissions of greenhouse gases to the Atmosphere and this has raised questions on how to reduce the usage of fossil fuels. Ethanol is a good alternative to conventional gas and has been used in Brazil since the 1970 ?s. In Sweden several newspapers has written about the poor working conditions on many farms thus making the Swedish company SEKAB design a certification for their ethanol to ensure that it can be considered to be a sustainable alternative.Furthermore WWF has developed a certification tool called Bonsucro in cooperation with Coca Cola, Ferrero group, BP and Shell. This is due to the fact that no global certification tool has been available up until now.

There are records of lowering of the water level in a lot of the Swedish lakes from the middleof the 1700th century. The aim was gaining more areable land to meet the needs of more foodto support the expanding population. In areas with top soil which contents of clay or loam asin the southwest of Scania in southern Sweden this was proven to be a successful wayexpanding the total outcome of the harvest.The studied area in the northeast of Scania, though, consists of morain with a lot of mires -much less nutritious conditions. When the water level is lowered the Atmosphere gets accessto the peat. The dissolving of the organic matter that has been suppressed by the lack ofoxygene below water level continues.

Bakgrund: Folkhälsan i Sverige beror till viss del på befolkningens matvanor. Matvanor grundläggs i de tidiga åren vilket ger den offentliga miljön, exempelvis förskolor, stora möjligheter att skapa goda förutsättningar för barnens matvanor. På såväl global som nationell nivå finns flera styrdokument som berör barns matvanor och hälsa. Det debatteras ofta vilka risker befolkningens matvanor innebär. Vi ville öka förståelsen för matens möjligheter genom ett salutogent perspektiv.

I skolan är mycket uppbyggt kring att ingå och fungera i en grupp. I 1994 års läroplan, Lpo 94, läggs stor vikt vid att ett av skolans uppdrag är att bidra till förståelse och medmänsklighet mellan elever på skolan. Enligt kursplanen ska ämnet idrott och hälsa ge möjligheter till att stärka gemenskapen mellan barn och ungdomar. I det här examensarbetet analyseras hur idrottsämnet i skolan påverkar gemenskapen. Elever har intervjuats och fått besvara frågor relaterade till gemenskap i skolan och på lektionerna i idrott och hälsa.

Ethical evaluation of scientific studies carried out using animals is legally mandated in many countries and has been so in Sweden for over three decades. The animal ethics committees (AECs) responsible for the task have however been subjected to criticism; common critique being that the wrong issues are discussed and that the ethical evaluation is thus incomplete, that there is a lack of coherence across committees and that the committees are not as democratic as they might appear. This study investigates the view of Swedish AEC members on a number of issues in order to shed some light on the mandate and functioning of the committees, and on the grounds for ongoing criticism. In a survey and interviews AEC members and other persons connected to the committees gave their views on the AEC task in relation to their roles, the ethical evaluation per se and whether or not emotions such as empathy play any part in it. There were significant differences found between AEC member categories and several issues were encountered, many of which have been stressed in previous studies.

This study concerns the energy future of the county of Stockholm up until 2050 and describes how the energy consumption can be compared to today with the use of scenario methodology. Within energy future studies the backcasting approach is well known and has been put to use in this study. Due to the characteristics of backcasting the study is self-fulfilling, i.e. the future energy scenarios presented in this study satisfy the targets set up in this study. In the light of what may be the largest challenge of our time ? the climate change - the aim of this study is to describe how the energy consumption in a fossil fuel free Stockholm county in the year of 2050 may be.

Th is thesis is about how to create communicative images. It is mainly for landscape architects. With communicative images, I mean images created with the purpose to communicate a proposal or idea in a direct way to. By only looking at the image, the viewer should get an idea of what the proposal entails. A communicative image should also create an interest in the proposal.

This diploma-work assess the public outdoor space. It has its starting point in, Ålidhem, a town district of Umeå. I have been studying public spaces in the outdoor environment. In this essay this refers to the spaces between the houses. What they are, what they contain, how they function and how they can improved.
