Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka integrationsprocessen för de syriska immigranter, som har kommit till Sverige för minst två år sedan. Vi ville få reda på hur de hade upplevt första tiden i Sverige, hur de uppfattar att stödet från det svenska samhället har varit och vilka faktorer som har haft betydelse för deras välmående.I denna uppsats har vi använt oss av en kvalitativ metod. Data har samlats in genom intervjuer som har behandlat integrationsprocessen utifrån syriska emigranters perspektiv. Till våra intervjuer har vi använt oss av en intervjuguide och vi valde ut tre kvinnor och två män där deras ålder varierade från 20 till 45 årsåldern.De teoretiska utgångspunkterna utgick ifrån Bourdieushabitus, Olkiewiczs (2008) assimilatoriska och nostalgiska grupper samt Franzens (1997) konstruktiva och destruktiva mönster.Vårt resultat visade att första tiden i Sverige ansågs som en väldigt svår period för våra informanter. Detta berodde dels på att man var rädd att inte bli erbjuden ett svenskt uppehållstillstånd och dels att man i vissa fall upplevde osäkerhet på förläggningen.

The aim of this essay was to acquire an enhanced knowledge about young immigrants? point of view of integration. During a former practical training semester I became interested in what the young immigrants thought about their own integration, what their conception was about this issue. I found that it had different meaning to different persons, to some it meant Assimilation, to others it meant being able to interact with the opposite gender. To examine this I used interviews and interviewed an amount of young immigrants in different stages of their studies in Swedish.

The aim of the thesis is to find a deeper understanding and knowledge concerning the interpretation of racism as a phenomenon in the everyday life of children in the age of 12-13 years old. To achieve the aim of the thesis I have used parts of the phenomenographic theories as a methodological implement. The conclusions made are represented through four different themes. The first theme deals with the way children apply to verbal overtones of racism in their everyday language. The second theme is about how some children discuss thoughts on integration and Assimilation as phenomenon.

In this thesis I discuss and analyze the integration policy of the community Landskrona, if they have any at all and how they in that case use it in their daily work to counteract the obvious problems with segregation, racism and negative attitudes towards people with other ethnic background than Swedish.During the second half of the 20th century Sweden has received a lot of immigrants who built our country and contributed to the rich variety of people we see today. Landskrona was one of the towns who received a lot according to its size, and with the economic crisis in the 1990s it was easy to blame the immigrants for our own deteriorated situation.Today Landskrona is working for an implementation of integration policies in all institutions and organizations to make it a matter of course just like equality. It is not the ethnic background that is the problem; it is being an outsider and economically segregated that lead to resistance of the society. The community is prioritizing the four areas job for everyone, living, education and culture..

The intention of this study is to compare difficulties of Swedish pronunciation of five  second-language learners with Thai as mother tongue. Thereafter make a comparison with previous research in pronunciation difficulties in people with the same primary language to see if the deviations are similar. I used both recorded material/recordings which I analyzed as well as experiences from pronunciation training that I observed at SFI. The pronunciation difficulties were documented and entered in tables. The recordings consist of 25 Swedish words and a text performed by five informants. In my study, you can distinguish a pattern in my five informants pronunciation difficulties complying with Bannert informants who also have Thai as primary language.

Human existence and welfare depend on functional ecosystems. Ecosystems are critical to sustain life-support services for human well-being. One method that visualizes that humanity requires ecosystem services for resource consumption and Assimilation of produced waste is ecological footprints. This study focuses on the ecosystem service carbon sequestering. A quantification of this ecosystem service showed the potential for accumulation of carbon in different ecosystems in Stockholm and Norrbotten County for the years of 1995 and 2004.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att utveckla sex- och samlevnadsundervisningen med hjälp av queerpedagogiska teoretiska synteser. Resultaten från teoriutvecklingen är följande: - Queerteoretikern Butlers begrepp subversivitet kopplas till Piagets begreppspar ackommodation/Assimilation. - Det queerteoretiska begreppet performativitet kopplas till Vygotskijs teori om språket som redskap för förändring, samt till hans teori om det kollektiva minnet. - De av Kumashiro sedan tidigare skapade fyra strategierna för förändring, inspirerade av Freires frigörande pedagogik samt poststrukturella teorier. Några slutsatser dras om hur en ny sex- och samlevnadsundervisning bör se ut.

The aim of this study has been to reach a deeper understanding of how refugee adolescences experience their ethnic identity, particular ethnic consciousness in terms of integration, Assimilation and segregation. Further my intention has been to investigate if the adolescences experienced changes in their ethnic identity.   In order to investigate these questions a qualitative method consisting of four interviews were conducted. The study included two young men at the age of 18, and two young women at the age of 17 and 18. Three of the interviewed persons can be defined as refugees, but not the fourth adolescence.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine teachers? perception of communication in the Mathematics lesson. I wanted to find out how teachers look at communication as a didactic manner and how they view their role in encouraging communication and discussion during the Mathematics lesson and what communication can contribute to students? learning in Mathematics, according to their beliefs. I have chosen a qualitative approach; I have interviewed six Mathematics teachers working in three different schools.

The aim of this essay is to study the religious education which the Jewish Community of Göteborg offers to members between six and fourteen years of age. The main question of the essay is ?what function does the religious afternoon education serve for the Jewish Community of Göteborg??To answer this question I have interviewed four people who in various ways are engaged in the religious education. To analyse the result I have used Danièle Herviue-Léger?s theory ?religion as a chain of memory?.

Syftet med denna studie är att bringa bättre förståelse och ge en inblick i flyktingars egna upplevelser och erfarenheter gällande integrationsarbete under deras tid i Sverige samt under introduktionsperioden på integrationsenheten i Västerås. Jag har fokuserat min studie på att undersöka hur flyktingar upplever praktik som åtgärd till integration för att tillföra bättre förståelse för praktikanternas upplevelser samt identifiera problemområden som behöver förbättring eller utveckling. Enligt min mening tyder resultaten av mina kvalitativa djupintervjuer på att det finns ett behov av att fokusera på flyktingens upplevelse under introduktionstiden. Denna period kan vara avgörande för flyktingens framtida självuppfattning som jag anser skapar kollektiva gemenskaper som i sin tur leder till isolering och till slut det oundvikliga vi och dem tänkande som sätter hinder i vägen för en lyckad integration.Jag inbjuder läsarna att ta del av mitt arbete som belyser olika problemområden samt lyfter fram vilka åtgärder som behöver vidtas för en utveckling inom integrationsarbetet..

Sverige blir alltmer mångkulturellt. I dagens samhälle finns det många individer och grupper av olika härkomst. Detta har lett till många diskussioner kring integration samt konflikter mellan olika folkgrupper. Vad kan dessa konflikter mellan de olika folkgrupperna innebära för individernas identitetsskapande? Och hur kan vissa av dessa individers identitet och livsvillkor formas under en integrationsprocess?Denna antologi kommer att behandla identitet ur ett etnicitetsperspektiv.

Efter den 11 september 2001 har det i väst blivit mer accepterat att göra negativa uttalanden om islam och muslimer i diskurser. Vår tes är att ledarsidorna i Jyllandsposten är ett exempel på en sådan diskurs där muslimer framställts som de Andra och ses som fundamentalt olika "danskarna". Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka diskursen om islam/muslimer på Jyllandspostens ledarsidor år 2000-2005. Detta görs genom en kritisk diskursanalys, utifrån postkolonial teori. Vi undersöker även om diskursen kan sägas vara en rasifierad diskurs, och hur diskursen har förändrats sedan år 2000.

The aim of this paper was to examine the specific experience of being bicultural, what ackulturation strategy the person utilized and what influenced the use of this strategy. The findings were analyzed with the help of Pierre Bourdieu?s concepts of habitus and cultural capital. The empirical data was collected through qualitative interviews with four women of Chilean background, who either were born in or had been living in Sweden since childhood. The results of the interviews showed that all the respondents predominantly utilized the integration strategy, meaning that they participated in and felt a connection to both the Swedish and Chilean culture.

People with Aspergers syndrome (AS) have proven difficulties maintaining jobs according to previous research. This is a quality study. Four women with AS were interviewed about their experience of employment. What difficulties and contributions have they experience at work? What is the self experienced need of support within the research group? The result has been analyzed with different types of ?support?.
