The function of traditional leaders in the modern states of Africa has been under debate for decades. The dominant research discourse suggests that these institutions should be integrated into the state in order to minimize the amount of parallel political spheres, since the latters are considered to affect state legitimacy negatively. But are the states in a situation where they need to compete with the traditional institutions in order to gain more legitimacy? If so, is the struggle for legitimacy a zero-sum game where there can only be one winner? Or is it possible for these institutions to co-exist or even benefit from each other? The aim of this bachelor?s thesis is to research if, and to what extent, African citizens? confidence in traditional institutions has an effect on state legitimacy. This has been done by statistically analyzing the data from the latest completed round of the Afrobarometer survey, a study that has been conducted in 20 different countries across West- and Northeast Africa.

Purpose: The purpose of this study has been to investigate whether Frennberg & Hanssons earlier study of anomalies still are correct, and if these are valid for certain sectors. Methodology: In an effort to find seasonal patterns on the Swedish exchange market, we have used the average daily returns. By using these patterns we have created investment strategies which have then been tested over a 10 year period. We also used t-tests to verify our results. Conclusions: We have been able to prove a change in the seasonal patterns that Frennberg & Hansson presented in their study.

Stjärnägg is a sales organization operating on the Swedish eggmarket, owned by nine Swedish packing companies. Those nine packing companies are not just owners of the sales organization, but at the same time competitors since they compete in the market when they do not sell the eggs through Stjärnägg.The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate the sales organization from a supplier and owner perspective. To answer the purpose of this study, qualitative interviews have been conducted with the owners of the egg packers. This has been done in order to get as fair picture of the sales organization as possible. From the answers of the interviews, a compilation has been made to be able to give Stjärnägg concrete proposals of improvements in the organization.

Systems development methods mirror different organizational perspectives, and not all methods are formalised, but what they have in common is the purpose of structuring and supporting systems development processes. Which method would be the most suitable may be determined by the systems development context at hand, because every systems development context is unique. Information is a valuable Asset in today?s organizations, and it needs to be protected against both internal and external security threats. In our essay we aspired to find and present suggestions as to how systems developers can include security in the very design based on formalised systems development methods to create systems that are better prepared to meet the security challenges of today.

This study focuses on young adults with mild mental retardation and how their early adult life is a few years after leaving high school. They have grown up in a society where the view on mentally disabled has undergone big changes. Political decisions regarding handicapped, laws, official principles and social reforms have been dominated by the prinziple of normalization.The purpose has been to describe how the young adults themselves experience their life. The questions were: How is the every day life for young adults with mild mental retardation? Do they have Asset to community support in order to reach as normal life as possible? How satisfied are they with their life?The investigation is a quality study through interviews with four young adults and their parents.

I denna uppsats undersöks hur alternativa viktningsmetoder av OMXS30 har presterat mellan 2004-2010. Studien har sin utgångspunkt i teorierna kring Capital Asset Pricing Model och Effektiva Marknadshypotesen. Syftet med studien är att undersöka huruvida ett kapitalviktat index är effektivt i enlighet med dessa teorier. I studien konstrueras fem stycken index, ett kapitalviktat, två fundamentalviktade, ett riskviktat och ett kombinationsviktat index. För att avgöra indexens historiska prestation analyseras de utifrån utvärderingsmått som mäter riskjusterad avkastning.

The first official Islamic bank was established in 1975. The characteristic of an Islamic bank is that the bank is based on an interest free system. The interest free system is a requirement for an Islamic bank. The Islamic bank system is based on Sharia laws which are laws that are followed by Muslims and it is based on the text from the Quran. The Islamic Banks had a rapid expansion between 1993 and 2003, the expansion was about 23 percent and since 2003 have the expansion been about 20 percent.

Syfte: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka läkemedelsföretag för att sedan jämföra läkemedelsbranschen med stockholmsbörsen för att se hur läkemedelsbranschen påverkats av finanskrisen på slutet av 2000-talet.Metod: Studien bygger på en hypotesprövning och författarna har valt att använda en deduktiv ansats och en kvantitativ datainsamlingsmetod för att samla in data kring läkemedelsaktier.Teori: Studiens analyser bygger på två teoretiska modeller. Den ena är CAPM (Capital Asset Pricing Model) som är en modell som används för att räkna fram avkastningskravet för aktieägarna. Det andra är ett teorem (Modigliani-Millers) avseende kapitalstruktur och som behandlar marknadsvärdet på ettbolag oberoende av finansieringsform eller distribution av utdelningar.Empiri: Jämförelser mellan Stockholmsbörsens generalindex och de fem största läkemedelsbolagen visar på att läkemedelsbolagen delvis följer börsens utveckling. Men över tid så visar sig läkemedelsaktierna vara stabilare och återhämtar sig snabbare än börsen som helhet.Slutsats: Till en början kan man se att finanskrisen har påverkat hela börsen inklusive läkemedelsbranschen. Dock visar en närmare observation av händelsen att läkemedelsaktierna återhämtar sig betydligt fortare och att de totalt sett inte svänger lika mycket..

A1210Teknisk aktieanalys används för att från historiska kursdata försöka förutsäga den framtida kursutvecklingen. Uppsatsens syfte är att undersöka börstrendens inverkan av resultaten för två olika tekniska analysmodeller, glidande medelvärde och Relative Strength Index (RSI). Som dataunderlag används 12 aktier från Stockholmsbörsens A-lista för Mest omsatta aktier mellan 1988-03-01 och 2004-03-01.I studien tillämpas blankning för att oberoende av den rådande trenden ha möjlighet att generera överavkastning. Överavkastningen undersöks genom att riskjustera avkastningen med Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM). Vidare belastas varje transaktion med en courtageavgift.Det visar sig att endast köpsignalerna är statistiskt signifikanta.

Today there is not much research on this subject but we find these questions important to study because we think it is good to be aware of the situations that can arise and discuss how to solve any problems. To have a basis for this qualitative study we conducted group interviews with library staff, where they are asked about their experiences with non-Swedish speaking users. In the analysis the results of the interviews are compared to previous research and related to communication theory, which is the theoretical framework for this study.

The aim of this study was to investigate how preschool teachers think about preschoolscience, what they consider science to be and how they deal with specific curricular objectivesrelated to science.Science is a part of our everyday life, it is a prerequisite for understanding everydayphenomena and how the world is working. Nevertheless it is often dropped in favour of othersubjects in Swedish preschools.The eight preschool teachers participating in this study are all working in the samemunicipality in the western part of Sweden with children aged 1- 5 years. The method used inthis study was interviews. The interviews were recorded to facilitate the transcriptions.The results show that preschool teachers find that science is an important subject that shouldbe introduced to the children early on in life. They also show that preschool teachers considerscience to have a preventive effect on the learning to the children, and it is needed for them tounderstand everyday processes and phenomena.

This report is the result of a project in the course Independent Projekt in Molecular Biotechnology at Uppsala University during the spring of 2014. The foremost purpose of the course is to give students the opportunity to carry through exstensive work in a project environment. This project was formed based on a comission from the biotechnology company SweTree Technologies, and the goal has been to compose a summary of the different techniques and methods that exist in the field of mass propagation of trees through the method of somatic embryogenesis.The project group has obtained information about the area mainly throgh reading patents, trying to find key components and bottlenecks in other companies? somatic embryogenesis technologies. This paper is divided into different sections, containing the patents of the automation of different steps in the process.

The aim with this thesis was to study how primary school teachers perceive their mission in working with inclusive education. The aim was also to study their thoughts and experience of the Special education support. To conduct the inquiry twelve primary school teachers from two different communities in Sweden were asked to give their views of inclusive education. The central issues was how the primary school teachers interprets the concept of inclusion, the opportunities and obstacles they perceived and how the Special education support was formed in the work with inclusion in their schools. The result shows that the majority part of the primary teachers interprets the concept as a spatial or social inclusion.

Det finns goda skäl att tro att insiders tack vare sin ställning har bättre möjligheter att bedöma den egna verksamheten än utomstående aktörer. Det finns även skäl att tro att insiders, precis som alla andra rationella investerare utnyttjar tillgänglig information i sina privata affärer. Detta utmynnar i uppsatsens frågeställning; förhåller det sig så att personer med insynsställning gör bättre affärer i de egna bolagen än övriga marknadsaktörer? Skulle det visa sig att insiders affärer överlag genererade överavkastning borde det vara en utmärkt investeringsstrategi att replikera deras transaktioner. Den modell som används i studien bygger på en ny metod att jämföra den faktiska avkastningen för en period med avkastningen för samma tidsram som förväntades vid periodens början.
