Since my experience is that teachers in singing hardly ever talk about when to sing a tone, I have chosen to examine this fact through interviews and earlier research in this matter. The interviewed singing teachers belong to different genres (classical music, pop/rock, jazz and folk music). I asked them to share their thoughts about the word timing, when it comes to music. I also wanted to know if they have any methods when it comes to teaching students to improve their timing. Further on, I have been discussing the results and the literature in order to make clear in what way singing teachers give priority to when a tone is being sung.

This Master?s Thesis work was performed at the Studio Engineer department at Volvo CarsDesign Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. The assignment has been to create a new idea of an airvent where the news value mainly was focused at functionality but also with great attention onvisual appearance.The work has been totally independent and not been aimed to any specific car model. Utgångspunkten för den pjäs som utgör en del av mitt magisterarbete är från första början egentligen en grundläggande socialpsykologisk iakttagelse. Det rör sig om det inte ovanliga (såvida jag inte fått allt om bakfoten) mänskliga draget att säga en sak och göra en annan, ett drag som tycks gälla mer som regel än undantag åtminstone på teatern. Color has been significant in visual arts for as long as the art-forms have existed. Still images and movies have long used colors and color grading effects to affect the viewer and characterize the work. In recent years attempts have been made to bring these techniques of stylizing also to interactive games. This dissertation aims to compare two different approaches of performing real-time color grading for games. Focus is put on examining the two ways from a number of different perspectives and from there draw conclusions on advantages and disadvantages of the approaches.

The purpose of this thesis is to present and analyze population developments within Umeå municipality during the period 1992 to 2012. The study also aims to discuss growth trends presented in previous papers to seek common factors and get a deeper understanding.Data for 1992, 2002 and 2012 on a sub area level supplied by Umeå municipality was used. The study shows a continued positive development across almost all sub areas, but a differing growth rate from centre to periphery, and also a diversified medium age among the inhabitants.While the city center continues to have the highest growth of population during the studied years, a recent trend seems to point to a growing popularity to settle in the outskirts of the municipality, primarily near the coast..

För att skriva den här uppsatsen gjorde jag en intervjustudie med ungdomar i musikskolan som spelat i några år. Syftet med uppsatsen var att undersöka ungdomarnas val att fortsätta med instrumentalstudier efter de första åren. Intervjuerna gjordes på en musikskola och bestod av både enskilda intervjuer samt av gruppintervjuer. Ungdomarna berättade om varför de fortsätter med instrumentalstudier. Resultatet av studien visar att ungdomarnas motiv att fortsätta att spela i musikskolan efter de första åren är både sociala och musikaliska.

Events that have effected music teachers? view on education - Interviews with four violin-teachers. The purpose of this research is to find out what forms the violin-teachers view on how education shall be operated. Through qualitative interviews, four violin-teachers from around Sweden have told about their growing up, higher musical education and what is current. The result shows that the higher musical education and their own teachers throughout the years are factors that have partially shaped their views.

Sammanfattning och förord Studien fokuserar på lärarstudenters syn på fritidspedagogens roll för fostran av barn på fritidshem. Den franske sociologen Bourdieu och hans tankar om socialisation är studiens huvudsakliga teoretiska perspektiv. Bourdieu talar om fält, kapital, praktiskt sinne och habitus. I min studie jämför jag Bourdiues tankar med några pedagoger såsom Dewey och Säljö vilkas arbete är mer sociokulturell inriktat. För att tydliggöra hur fostran av barn på fritidshem sker har jag intervjuat tio blivande lärarstudenter vilka studerar med inriktning mot fritidshemmets pedagogik.

This essay examines the relationships between the different elements in Lisa Jonasson?s collage Existentiell Progg #6 and her very detailed technique. The essay has as its aims to understand and analyze both the details and the wholeness of the artwork and to try to put the collage in an art historical context. The thesis finds that Existentiell Progg #6 has a connection to the imagery of Africa and other collage artist such as Hannah Höch and Nancy Spero, which also gives the paper a perspective of feminism in the arts. The paper continues to create an understanding for the collage work by putting it in to Theodor Adorno?s theories about nature, the human being and the animal kingdom.
