The globalization of political and economic processes is a growing moral concern for theologians and political philosophers alike. My thesis aims to outline, analyze, and compare church studies of globalization with global theories of justice.To do this, I draw upon recent studies of globalization made by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). The WCC and LWF are two global reaching church organizations. They have a common aim of uniting churches for ecumenical dialogue and are involved in social, economic, political, and ecological questions. The WCC and LWF analyze globalization by applying biblical and theological principles from the Christian tradition.

Urban density is not new, but rather one side of the continous processes of change underway in the city. During the urbanizing boom of the industrialization, when the cities grew bigger, the first spaces to be built on were vacant and planted areas in the interior of the district. The gardens that once were there were replaced by yardhouses. The idea of urban density is that a dense city means less distance between residential areas and workplaces, resulting in fewer shipments and travelers, which ultimately leads to lower energy consumption and lower emissions. Urban density may lead to shorter distances, but not necessarily. In the wake of urban density the greenstructures of the city is shattered. The possibilities for green areas to contribute to the health of the city and its inhabitants is dramatically reduced.

This report is an outcome of a master degree project at Linköpings University in co-operation with Micronic Laser Systems AB. The purpose with this master degree project was to investigate how to implement a receiver in a data transfer system. The system consists of several data channels, where every channel consists of three parts: driver, transmission lines and receiver. The driver send low amplitude differential signals via the transmission lines to the receiver that amplifies and converts it to a single-ended signal. The receiver has to be fast and be able to feed an output signal with high voltage swing.

Today, buildings utilize 40 % of the total energy consumption. New energyrestrictions and directives have entered the construction industry. Photovoltaic is asustainable, clean and quiet solution that integrates well in the urban environment buthave not yet reached a breakthrough on the Swedish market. The conditions for solarenergy production are often set in the early planning stages where they rarely arebeing prioritized.This master of engineering project focuses on identifying problems regardingimplementation of photovoltaic in city development projects and giving suggestions topossible improvements in the planning- and construction process. It also givesrecommendations on how the conditions for energy production can be optimized inthe early zoning stage.By conducting simulations with PVsystV5.21, on three ongoing city developmentprojects in Umeå, Malmö and Stockholm and by carry out and analyzing interviewswith city planners, constructors and architects, some conclusions have been made.Several improvements, both politically, with changes in the subsidization systemand/or instatement of a new law with feed-in tariffs, and within the solar- andconstruction industry itself, with better communication between different parts of theprocess as well as better use of experience, can be made.

Emulering och simulering omfattar ett brett spektrum av varierande tekniker på olika nivåer, som involverar både mjuk-, och hårdvaruparadigm. Denna rapport är utformad utifrån ett arkitekturellt perspektiv och ämnar att återge en kortfattad studie av ämnen relaterade till design av en generell referensarkitektur för emulatorer.Särskilt fokus har lagts på sammansättningen av de olika komponenter som vanligtvis utgör en emulator, och dessa ställs sedan i jämförelse med den arkitektur, skapad av Von-Neumann, som idag används i den moderna datorn.Målet är att identifiera de mest lämpade arkitekturella strategierna för att kunna uppnå kvalitetskrav som flexibilitet, generalitet och funktionell lämplighet. Vid skapandet av en prototyp görs en avvägning mellan olika tekniker, vilket resulterar i en hybrid mellan tidskritiska och händelsedrivna paradigm. Vidare jämförs befintliga arkitekturer där modularitet mellan komponenter visar sig vara en återkommande egenskap inom samtliga designer.Det viktigaste resultatet vi kom fram till är att en tillståndsmaskin ofta har en betydande roll inom händelsedrivna system. För den prototyp som designats resulterade detta i en tillståndsmaskin med svagt kopplade deltillstånd som tillsammans leder till aktivering av olika huvudtillstånd, något som går i linje med icke-Von Neumann-alternativ..

This essay deals with the rationale and aims for doing cultural or aesthetic activities and projects in schools, and gives special focus to a specific group of students, attending schools provided at special residential homes for young people (sa?rskilda ungdomshem). These homes receive young people with psychosocial and substance misuse problems and who show tendencies towards criminal behavior. The essay investigates how working with a cultural project in schools at these residential homes is justified and also elucidates how this specific group of students and their problems are constructed in the documents surrounding the project. The essay will further ponder over possible educational and pedagogical consequences of these constructions.The investigation has its theoretical frame work in curriculum theory.

Scenkonstverksamheterna kommunicerar med en bred publik såväl inom fysiska väggar som i digitala medier. Arbetet påverkas av fem huvudfaktorer somstudien identifierar: organisationens struktur, ett offentligt uppdrags ramar, digitalisering, utbudet av konkurrerande kulturaktiviteter samt människans komplexitet. Nämnda faktorer ställer höga krav på scenkonstverksamheterna att hålla en ständig dialog och kommunicera till breda grupper i en mängd kanaler.

Idag finns ett flertal checklistor och handböcker om hur man kan tillgänglighetsanpassahygienutrymmen. Arkitektgruppen i Gävle AB tycker dock att det inte finns något braalternativ som kan fungera som en användbar lathund för arkitektkonsulter. Ett hjälpmedelsom kan spara tid och kraft i deras tillgänglighetsarbete. De anser också att de råd ochanvisningar för dimensionering av hygienutrymmen som finns idag är för låsta viddimensionerna 2,20x2,20m och skulle behöva utredas.Syftet med detta arbete är att förenkla arbetet för konsulter vid planering för bättretillgänglighet och användarvänlighet i hygienrum och på så vis spara tid vid varje tillfälle.Målet är att skapa ett hjälpmedel som dels ska kunna fungera som ett förfrågningsunderlag förtotalentreprenad och dels utreda dimensionsbehoven i hygienutrymmen.Arbetet utgjordes till stor del av litteraturstudier i form av faktaböcker, forskningsstudier ochstandarder för att skapa ett underlag för uppgiften. Resultatet är en kombination av planer ochelevationer med förklarande texter framställda i Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture 2009 ochmed ytterligare och mer utförliga beskrivningar i rapporten.Resultatet består av två delar.

Most of the portable electronic devices use a battery as a primary power source. Nowadays, when the applications are becoming smaller and smaller and more power efficient, the designer needs to concentrate more on reducing power consumption, using secondary power sources and introducing power storage devices. Multiple power source availability and a power storage device on the board will make the applications much more useful and efficient in everyday use. This thesis proposes a power supply unit (PSU) for wireless sensor platforms which is capable of supplying a sensor node with energy from multiple sources, as well as status information from the PSU. Present power storage devices, like electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) and batteries, have become more and more common as their characteristics have developed.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to explore how the localisation and the design affect the conditions for a school-media centre. A school-media centre is in this study a place where the students seek, find and evaluate information, discuss and exchange ideas. An active place for generating knowledge. The method applied in this study is "Space Syntax Analysis", a quantitative method with visual representation of the results. In the theoretical framework, space is the voids between walls, doors and ceiling, between furniture and bookshelves.

Title: "Everybody is talking about reception but what do they really mean?" - Teacher trainers' experience of work with aesthetic communication in perspective of a receiver with a special attention to the reception of music. The purpose of this thesis is to study the notion of reception among a group of teachers at the department of education at Malmö University. Our principal aim is to illuminate reception in an educational context as well as experiences of the teachers´ work with aesthetic communication in perspective of a receiver within the main subject KME (Culture Media Aesthetics). We are paying special attention to the reception of music since this is a part of our profession.

?Den ickeverbala kommunikationens betydelse - Kommunikation av kroppsligt förankrad erfarenhet? är en fallstudie med kvalitativ metod där ?Berättelsen om K? står i centrum.Det empiriska arbetet sätts in i ett filosofiskt och teoretiskt perspektiv med förankring i framför allt forskning kring lek. Flerårig erfarenhet av arbete med Expressive Arts i utbildnings-, socialpedagogiska- och psykoterapeutiska sammanhang utgör studiens bakgrund. Studien svarar på följande frågeställningar:Vad kännetecknar kommunikation av kroppsligt förankrad erfarenhet i/genom användandet av expressiva estetiska uttrycksformer?Vilka former tar sig en sådan kommunikation?Hur förhåller sig denna typ av kommunikation till verbal kommunikation?Vilka konsekvenser får denna typ av kommunikation för deltagande parter? Arbetet visarAtt det är möjligt att konstruera en förståelse av sin verklighet och sig själv genom sitt handlande i kropp, rörelse, färger, lera, ljud på instrument samt inspelad musik.Att kommunikationen genom icke-verbala uttrycksformer stiger fram som språk i sig.Att denna kommunikation tar deltagarens teknik och skicklighet i sin tjänst ? samtidigt som tekniken och skickligheten utvecklas.Att samarbete, samhandling och samtal i mötet mellan Deltagare och Processledare[1] är av avgörande betydelse då utveckling av sinne och själv är en social, relationell komposition.Att ett nytt mellanmänskligt område skapas i samarbetet mellan Deltagare och Processledare genom det omedelbara, känslomässiga, intersubjektiva mötet som uppstår ? och att tolkning får stå tillbaka för arbetets sociala och kommunikativa betydelse.Att leken är central för var människa.Att slutsatserna ovan för den skull inte förminskar den verbala kommunikationens, ordens, övergripande och centrala roll i vårt vara som människor. Jag har i tidigare texter använt benämningen Processledare framför exempelvis psykoterapeut och Deltagare framför exempelvis klient..

This thesis focuses on the driver?s experience of the road and its surroundings. ?The view from the road? takes place every day and a high-quality ?road experience? is therefore a question of importance. Since cars made their breakthrough in the 1920-30, the approach to ?the driver experience? has varied notably.

An inquiry into the post-war European aesthetic and political landscape should take the international organization Unesco?s colour reproductions and travelling exhibitions of paintings into consideration. In these, the organization implements André Malraux? idea of the ?imaginary museum? as a framework for a future cosmopolitical, aesthetic (and utopian) community. During the late 1940?s, the Swedish government also discusses the need for raising an ?aesthetic awareness? amongst their citizens as a consequence to a poor knowledge in the fine arts.
