This master thesis is about access to literature translated into Swedish sign language for deaf at the public libraries. It is by now a well-known fact that there is produced very little literature in sign language for deaf. This is so even though the policies for the library nationally and internationally, and the public law for libraries in Sweden says there should be literature available for all groups of disadvantaged people. People who have problem reading ordinary ink books have the right to get the book adapted into a medium accessible for them. The goal of the Swedish law for disadvantaged says that in 2010 Sweden should be accessible for all irrespective of weather you are deaf or not.

Är Israel-Palestina konflikten ett religiöst krig eller en politisk fråga? Det är denna fråga vi har som övergripande syfte att besvara i uppsatsen genom att studera hur olika dimensioner av identitet används i konflikten. För att göra det har vi studerat de olika parternas Argumentation för rätten till landet, samt för några aktuella konflikthandlingar. Vi har analyserat officiella dokument, artiklar, intervjuer och uttalanden med en innehållslig idéanalys, som delar upp argumenten i ideologiska/religiösa och kognitiva. De aktuella handlingar vi tittat på är palestinsk terrorism/frihetskamp samt Israels byggande av en mur/staket runt Västbanken.

The Swedish Moderate party, often also called the Conservative party, was founded with conservatism as the dominant ideology. During the years, however, liberalism has gradually found its way into the party. The aim of this study is to analyze the Moderate party?s political platforms from 1984 to 2013 from an ideological perspective. Is conservatism still a foundational ideology in the Moderate party, or has the liberal ideology taken its place? The study is based on an ideal type analysis that illustrates the Moderate party?s Argumentation in six political issues in the years 1984, 1993 and 2013.

Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om språkkunskaperna i svenskämnet skiljer sig mellan eleverna på det studieförberedande teknikprogrammet och eleverna på det yrkesförberedande energiprogrammet. Forskningsfrågan är därmed: Varför uppfattas elevernas språkkunskaper och språkfärdigheter vara så olika på gymnasieprogrammen?Eleverna i studien fick 30 minuter på sig att skriva en argumenterande text. Dessa texter har jag sedan jämfört med hjälp av variabler som lexikogrammatik (ordval, stavning, särskrivning, meningsbyggnad), textegenskaper (Argumentation, disposition, textlängd, stil) och elevens bakgrund (föräldrars utbildningsnivå och elevens bostadsort). Jag har också intervjuat den svensklärare som undervisar i båda klasserna och delat ut enkäter bland andra svensklärare på skolan med frågor som bland annat behandlar hur de bedriver sin svenskundervisning och huruvida de anser att det finns skillnader mellan programmen i elevernas brukstexter.Resultaten av lärarintervju och lärarenkät (där 5 av 6 lärare undervisar på både studieförberedande och yrkesförberedande program) visar att lärarna tycker att det finns en skillnad mellan elevers texter beroende på vilket program de går.

With Foucault's genealogical method, Butler's theories of gender as a social construction in relation to power and doxa, the study examines what the development of the Argumentation says about the views on morality, the woman's body, life, individual and state? How has the arguments pro and against abortion changed over time and what does this say about the norms that guide and orientate the arguments? The most obvious change in Argumentation is seen in the shift from an absolute moral and conservative position into an increasingly relativistic and liberal position, and this study will argue that this shift has its prerequisites in the changing status of the citizen and state.

AbstractIn this essay, policy change and learning is studied in the case of the Social Democratic Party and their policy concerning independent schools. Their policy differs clearly from the right-wing parties. Between 1991 and 1994, the right-wing government made substantial reforms concerning independent schools. The question posed in this essay is whether the policy of the Social Democratic Party has changed as a result of these actions, and if they have approached their right-wing counterparts.Using the Advocacy Coalition Framework, defining a policy as a result of the values the actor holds, the question is studied by applying the theory's assumptions of policy-learning across coalitions. The Argumentation of the Social Democratic Party, as it is expressed in official text documents before and after the right-wing government, is analysed.

In this Master's Thesis a rhetorical analysis is applied to reading suggestions in the database Boktips.net. Boktips.net utilize the Internet for readers advisory by offering public libraries in Sweden to use and participate to its contents. The aim is to examine how library staff writes about literature in Boktips.net. The empirical material is delimited to reading suggestions on fiction for adults. Areas in focus of the analysis are rhetorical context, disposition, style and components from the point of view of content: summary, evaluation on portrayal of characters and setting, narrative, language use, genre and themes, entertainment, insights and external information.

The aim of this study was to examine the District Court´s Argumentations about the children´s best interests in rulings regarding custody of children, and to analyse the Argumentation from a gender perspective. Rulings from the District Court from 2012 have been the basis for this study and a qualitative method has been used, Argumentations analysis. The study shows that cooperative problems between the parents are the main reason why the District Court finds joint custody to be excluded. There are also Argumentation regarding parent´s ability to ensure the children?s safety.

The Swedish and the Finnish compulsory care legislation that regards abusers differ in several ways. The arguments for compulsory care and for the time which one will receive compulsory care are dissimilar. The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyse which arguments for compulsory care and the length of the care time that has been expressed in the Swedish and the Finnish laws and in the statutes. The tools were an Argumentation analysis, which is a form of qualitative text analysis method, combined with a hermeneutic scientific position. We have investigated the arguments that try to justify compulsory care and the care time that has been expressed in the laws and the statutes.

Den här studien analyserar läromedel i svenska ur ett historiskt perspektiv för att utreda hur retoriken och/eller den muntliga framställningen med fokus på tal inför åhörare har presenterats under fem decennier. I uppsatsens syfte ingår att, med utgångspunkt från hur läromedlen presenterar ämnet, dra slutsatser angående retorikens och/eller den muntliga framställningens funktion i den svenska skolan, speciellt med avseende på retorik, Argumentation och demokrati. Forskningsbakgrunden ger en genomgång av retorikens definition, praktiska funktioner och koppling till skolan. Metoden som används är den komparativa textanalysen i vilken likheter och skillnader hos texter lyfts fram. Primärmaterialet utgörs av läromedel i svenska från 1960-talet till 2000-talet.Det visar sig bland annat att synen på retorik som begrepp skiljer sig mellan de äldre och de nyare läromedlen.

The purpose of this essay is to study how feminists portray themselves and their opinions about gender issues and other political matters in popular feminist blogs. The blogs that are studied are Lady Dahmer, Fanny Åström, Hanapee and Genusfolket. The overall essay questions are: How does the feminist bloggers present themselves? Which subjects are discussed in the feminist blogs? Which rhetorical devices does the feminist bloggers use? The theories that are used to answer the essay questions are the four spheres where there are inequality between the sexes, theories about third wave feminism, the rhetorical concepts ethos, logos and pathos and the SPADER-model for writing good Argumentation. A descriptive method is used to study how the bloggers present themselves, a quantitative content analysis is used to count which subjects the bloggers write about and a qualitative rhetorical text analysis is used to study the rhetorical devices the bloggers use.The result shows that the two bloggers Lady Dahmer and Fanny Åström describe themselves with provocative words while the other blogs have more neutral descriptions.

The cultural policy area has a tendency to be seen as a consensus area, where there are no big conflicts between the parties. The aim of this master?s thesis is to study the moderate party?s cultural motion 2005/06Kr:233 with the party leader Fredrik Reinfeldt as first author. If consensus rules, the party?s ideology should not be visible in the motion, but the assumption in the thesis is that it is visible.
