Colosseum, en ny form av strid : En personlig erfarenhet i ett stridssystems utveckling
Denna reflexiva rapport är menad att guida läsaren genom mitt arbete som designer under designmomentet: utveckling av stridssystem till spelet Colosseum. Texten är skriven på dagboksform för att ge en inblick i mina framgångar och motgångar i utvecklingen. Eftersom arbetet pågår mellan två spel har jag valt att kalla det första Colosseum för PreGen (Previous Generation) och det nya för NextGen (Next Generation). Frågorna jag strävat efter att besvara är om jag kan identifiera de tråkiga bitarna med PreGen och hur jag ska gå tillväga för att inte göra om tidigare misstag. De tråkiga bitarna identifierades snabbt med speltestning samtidigt som mina tidigare erfarenheter hjälpte mig undvika dessa misstag under utvecklingen av det nya systemet.Vid framtagningen av kontrollschemat har jag låtit mig inspireras av tidigare, lyckade spel samtidigt som jag satt min egen prägel på det.
Framtidens meny för ett IT-system
The mission was to create a prototype of a menu system for the companySystem Andersson AB. The instructions were that it has to be as interesting andmodern now as in 20 years. We had to look at technology from the cutting edgeof development to make our prototype survive in the future. WindowsPresentation Foundation (WPF) was the technique we focused on. There areonly a few applications that take advantage of WPF today, but it is predictedthat WPF will be the next generation method for developing applications to theWindows platform.To make our menu visually appealing, easy to use and at the same timefunctional, we followed the clear path and guidelines that are available ininteraction design.

Nowadays naval units are participating in international missions, where new and in many cases tougher conditions will affect their propulsion. This essay deals with some of the now developed nanostructure coatings and gives a presentation of how the coatings could function on some exposed parts of the naval powertrain. The essay investigates the possibility that the coatings can be used as a protective layer that will reduce or prevent wear on selected parts of the naval powertrains. As a basis for the essay, nanotechnology is described, as well as different reasons that wear occurs and application techniques for coatings The conclusion is that nanostructured coatings can be applied and provide a much better result on hardness and wear resistance as of naval powertrains compared to micro-structural coatings, both for manufacturing and renovation. Power supply monitoring for wireless sensor platforms
Most of the portable electronic devices use a battery as a primary power source. Nowadays, when the applications are becoming smaller and smaller and more power efficient, the designer needs to concentrate more on reducing power consumption, using secondary power sources and introducing power storage devices. Multiple power source availability and a power storage device on the board will make the applications much more useful and efficient in everyday use. This thesis proposes a power supply unit (PSU) for wireless sensor platforms which is capable of supplying a sensor node with energy from multiple sources, as well as status information from the PSU. Present power storage devices, like electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) and batteries, have become more and more common as their characteristics have developed.
Individualization of information being presented in cars : An interaction study of interfaces in cars with focus on individualization of the information being presented
Denna studie har resulterat i ett nytt koncept med tillhörande design för hur individualiserad informationspresentation till förare i bilar skulle kunna se ut. Designen har framkommit genom litteraturstudier, State of the Art studier om informationssystem i dagens nya bilar, domänexpertintervjuer och användarstudier i form av Goal Directed Design. Slutligen utvärderades designen. Litteraturstudierna gav en god grund för vilken informationspresentation som finns i bilar idag. State of the Art studierna resulterade i en sammanfattning av nya informationssystem som fanns i tre nya bilar från tre olika bilmärken.

The Russian operation on the Crimean peninsula has been referred to as a victory enabled by the operationalization of the concept of New Generation Warfare. According to some military theorists, this concept and its operationalization cannot be characterized in terms of the traditional wars waged up to this point. It is, however, also argued that this new generation of warfare is primarily a new approach to strategy, a new way of applying traditional methods to achieve political goals. Informativa strukturer och egenskaper som stöd för automatiska processer i människans informationshantering
The purpose of this thesis is to create opportunities for an efficient interchange of information between humans and technology, especially for the skilled user, and put the designprincipal for informative structures and features into practice. Informative structures and features in a large number of information items helps the peripheral visual system to automatically capture knowledge through logical patterns.A field experiment was done to evaluate if informative structures and features, implicate efficient human information-processing, even in a small study. The results was ambiguous because the quantitative part of the investigation didn?t show any significant differences, whereas the qualitative showed that people prefer a dynamic document with a high degree of informative structures and features over a dynamic document with a low degree of informative structures and features. Even if this study was inconsistent, probably because to few subjects where used, the implication of the research that?s behind it is solid.

Realtidsstyrning av IP-kamera
The final thesis named Tracking in Sensor Networks was created by the company Instrument control Sweden. The thesis work is to create a plug-in to an already developed software pro- gram, SkyView. Via the software program one should be able to control an IP-camera from AXIS, model 215 PTZ, with the appropriate protocol over a network. An Application Programming Interface, API, was used to easily control the camera through SkyView. The interface is called VAPIX and is used to all cameras from AXIS.

Genrer som stöd vid design av IT-artefakter: Reflektioner på ett designfall
Uppsatsen ämnar svara på en övergripande frågeställning som lyder: På vilket sätt kan genrer fungera som ett stöd vid design av IT-artefakter? Detta är uppdelat i två syften. Det ena är att utreda om ett medvetet arbete med genrer kan stödja designprocessen vid design av IT-artefakter. För att svara på detta görs en genomgång om vad litteraturen säger om genrer och sedan testas detta på ett designfall som genomförs på en handdatorapplikation, närmare bestämt ett mobilt säljstöd. Det andra syftet är att vid förberedande och genomförande av detta designfall samla ihop och sammanställa designråd lämpade för handdatorer.
