Ångest inför statistikämnet (Statistics anxiety) försämrar prestationerna och kan få studenter att undvika statistikstudier. Syftet med studien var att undersöka ifall studenter som upplevde ett stödjande klassrumsklimat (Sense of Community) hade mindre statistikångest. Syftet var också att undersöka om det fanns skillnader i upplevd Statistics anxiety och Sense of Community mellan campus- och distansstudenter. En webbenkät besvarades av 13 campusstudenter och 28 distansstudenter i åldrarna 20-51 år (M=29,4). Statistiska analyser visade inget samband mellan de båda begreppen i analys med samtliga studenter, däremot fanns ett positivt samband för studenter i årskurs två.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka självförtroende och kroppsbild hos datorspelare, styrketränare och en kontrollgrupp. En webbenkät med manliga medlemmar på dator- och idrottsrelaterade internetforum genomfördes. Kontrollgruppen var medlemmar på dessa forum som varken styrketränade eller spelade datorspel. Skalorna Social physique Anxiety scale, Rosenberg self-esteem scale och Drive for muscularity scale administrerades. Resultatet visar att grupperna inte var signifikant skilda åt gällande social fysisk ångest eller självförtroende.

The purpose of the following study is to examine whether or not differences can be found between a group of aspiring police students (N=59) and a student group (N=20). Comparisons were made between the following variables: general illhealth, subjective experienced stress, trait anxiety and the three coping strategies, which are emotion focused coping, problem focused coping and seeking social support. In addition the results were compared with former research on the general illhealth and trait anxiety of the police students with that of a group police officers with several years of experience (N=69).The result of this showed that the police students had a significantly better level of general than the studentgroup. Several positive relations between the variables were found, among others between illhealth and trait anxiety, subjective experienced stress and trait anxiety and also between different types of coping strategies and subjective experienced stress..

This paper studies patterns of consumption within a product category. Using make-up as a base for the study, we applied the Mokken Scale to examine if consumers follow a hierarchical pattern when buying items within the product category. Based on a survey of 250 female respondents, we establish a hierarchic scale for consumption. Assuming generally accepted attributes for determining physical attractiveness, the results of the Mokken Scale study were cross referenced with a survey among 200 male and female respondents. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyse the private researchers encounter with the Royal Library, national library of Sweden. The main focus is on answering the two questions: who is the private researcher and what is his/her impression of the Royal Library? These questions are answered from the vantage point of the following theoretical perspectives: library anxiety, Bourdieu, library architecture, gender studies and service management. The methods used are qualitative interviews, and textual analysis using the printout of these taped interviews along with notes and an earlier user study as material. The conclusions are that barriers with staff is the most frequent factor of library anxiety in the private researcher at the Royal Library, and mechanical barriers the least frequent.

Syftet var att undersöka samband mellan stress, hälsoångest, sjukvårdsbesök samt läkemedelsförbrukning i fängelsemiljö. Respondenterna var 66 män i åldrarna 21 - 68 år med avtjänade straff från en månad till tretton år och nio månader. Studien baserades på självskattningsfrågeformulär vilket mäter stress  (Perceived Stress Scale, PSS ) och hälsoångest (Health Anxiety Inventory, Short Version, SHAI). Dataanalyser kontrollerade samband, predicerbarhet och interaktionseffekter. Resultatet påvisade samband och predicerbarhet mellan stress och hälsoångest samt med hur ofta intagna besöker sjukmottagningen men inget samband med förbrukning av läkemedel.

Electrooculogram (EOG) data was used to develop, adjust and validate a method for drowsiness detection in drivers. The drowsiness detection was based on changes in blink behaviour and classification was made on a four graded scale. The purpose was to detect early signs of drowsiness in order to warn a driver. MATLAB was used for implementation. For adjustment and validatation, two different reference measures were used; driver reported ratings of drowsiness and an electroencephalogram (EEG) based scoring scale.

Dogs with behavioral problemsThis study was made to investigate if there was a problem in today?s society regarding dogs showing for example excessive aggression and/or anxiety. The main questions in this study was "is there a problem today" and "if there is a problem, what can we do to prevent it". To investigate these questions interviews were made with six different professions concerning the dog domain. The result of the study shows that three of the interviewed considered it to be a problem, one did not have an opinion on the matter and two choose not to call it a dog related problem because it mostly depends on the owner.

Hästars och människors har olika sätt att kommunicera. Hästen är mycket känslig för icke-verbal kommunikation medan människan gärna uttrycker sig verbalt. Människan måste därför lära sig att kommunicera på hästens vis, men vid stor prestationsängslan är det svårare att kontrollera kroppen. Detta kan orsaka problem i kommunikation mellan häst och ryttare. Prestationsängslan är ett fenomen som tidigare undersökts mycket inom andra idrotter och även lite inom utländsk ridsport, men det har aldrig tidigare gjorts en studie inom svensk ridsport.

Title: Go for it! - A study of anxiety in relation to students performing in ensemble class.This study discusses anxiety in relation to students in ensemble performance. The expectations on musicians are extremely high and demanding. They are expected to perform to the maximum of their ability despite both physical and mental pressure. I present in this study the result of the interviews I have performed with three students at Swedish Academies of Music. The study shows that all of the students included are in one way or the other suffering from anxiety in relation to performance.

Behavioral problems are one of the leading reasons for re-homing and euthanasia in dogs. It is estimated that between 40 ? 87 % of dogs suffer from some sort of behavioural problem, making it an important animal welfare issue. Separation anxiety is one of the most common behavior problems encountered in dogs after problems related to aggression. This thesis is aimed at examining the etiology behind separation anxiety related behavior in dogs based on existing literature as well as comparing and evaluating the efficiency on suggested treatment protocols.

En effectiveness-studie undersökte effekten av Dugas och Robichauds (2007) behandlingsmodell för GAD på en specialistmottagning för patienter med komplicerade ångest och eller depressionstillstånd. Utöver detta undersöktes vilka övriga KBT-behandlingar för GAD som förmedlats på mottagningen. Alla patienter behandlades som en del av klinikens ordinarie verksamhet. Huvudutfallsmått var Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale-7 (GAD-7) som mättes före och efter behandling. Därutöver mättes även grad av depressiva besvär med PHQ-9 samt grad av klinisk remission efter behandling.

This study aims to investigate possible correlations between cognitive functions and self perceived psychological wellbeing, possible correlations between cognitive functions and degree of mindfulness and possible correlations between degree of mindfulness and self perceived psychological wellbeing. 18 patients diagnosed with ICD-10 taking part in a transdiagnostical cognitive behavioural group therapy participated in the study. The study measures relevant variables before and after a group therapy. Of the 18 patients participating, only 11 were able to be tested on both occasions due to time limit. The following tests are used: Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test, Wechsler Adult Inventory Scale-III, Trail Making Test, Controlled Oral Word Association Test, Colour Word Test, Beck's Anxiety Inventory, Beck's Depression Inventory, Quality of Life Inventory and Kentucky Inventory of Mindfulness Skills.

Studiens syfte var att validera en modifierad svensk översättningav självskattningsskalan som mäter anhedoni, Snaith-Hamilton PleasureScale. Syftet var också att utforska relationen mellan anhedoni och fatigue,stress, mental trötthet respektive dagtrötthet. Studiens deltagare, 60universitetsstudenter, utgjorde en icke-klinisk grupp som rekryterades medbekvämlighetsurval. Den modifierade svenska översättningen av Snaith-Hamilton Pleasure Scale uppvisade god intern konsistens, samt god konvergentvaliditet vid korrelation med anhedonirelaterade subskalor i Beck DepressionInventory. Vidare uppvisade Snaith-Hamilton Pleasure Scale starkapositiva samband med Fatigue Impact Scale respektive Mental FatigueScale, men inte med The Perceived Stress Scale respektive Epworth SleepinessScale.

Den här undersökningen syftar till att svara på huruvida arbetsförmedlare anser arbetsförmedlingen som officiell institution behövs. Vidare undersöks arbetsmiljö, stress, stressorer och arbetsförmedlares bedömning av sin egen arbetsinsats. Undersökningen är kvantitativ och i form av enkät. Studien är begränsad till Gävleborgs län. Undersökningen bygger på 3 enkäter Arbetsförmedlares syn på sin arbetsinsats (ASSA) samt Percieved Stress Scale (PSS) och Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD).
