Background:Chronic heart failure (CHF) is a complex clinical condition. The higher survival rate after heart attack and other heart diseases, plus aging population, has led to more CHF patients. Symptoms can have negative impact on exercise capacity, ability to perform activities of daily living and quality of life. Heart failure clinics have been established to help better quality of life. Helping to stabilize and maintain patients´ health can reduce the need of hospital admission.

This study focuses on the development of methods for sexual determination of human skeletal remains, mainly between the years 1981 to 2007. By comparing an older analysis from 1983 (Persson and Persson) with my own on the same material, a difference of 40% was shown, which indicates that the methods has changed through time, and that these should not be used for newer conclusions about a population if the method is not throughoutly described.The main cause of the difference was identified as a change in the reliability of the sexual indicators, rather than a total change of method. Any general tendencies did not show, it is however considered that the pelvic bones are able to make a better conformity between the analyses as opposed to using the cranium..

Utgångspunkten för denna uppsats har varit sambandet mellan autonomi, självständig motivation och målkongruens. Sambandet har hämtats från Self-Determination Theory, där autonomi anses vara en förutsättning för att uppleva självständig motivation som i sin tur anses viktigt för att skapa målkongruens i en organisation. Då autonomi inte är en självklarhet inom alla yrken har syftet med studien varit att undersöka sambandet mellan motivation och målkongruens bland anställda med standardiserade arbetsuppgifter på ett produktionsföretag. Fallföretaget för studien har varit Sandvik AB som verkar inom tillverkningsindustrin. Det empiriska materialet har inhämtats på en och samma avdelning genom intervjuer med en produktionschef samt nio anställda.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka inre arbetsmotivation och arbetstillfredsställelse genom att se vilket motivationsbehov och vilken typ av arbetstillfredsställelse som skattades högst. Syftet var även att undersöka vilka motivationsbehov som bäst predicerar inre och yttre arbetstillfredsställelse. Studien genomfördes inom äldreomsorgenen i en mindre kommun i Sverige. 80 personer deltog i studien som genomfördes som en enkätundersökning. Mätinstrumenten som användes var Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire (MSQ) och Basic Need of Satisfaction at work Scale (BNS).

IntroductionStatistics show a declining trend despite the many benefits of breastfeeding.AimThe aim was to investigate how new mothers experienced the care associated with childbirth, with focus on breastfeeding.MethodThe study included mothers who gave birth in a hospital in the middle region of Sweden during 2011, and who responded to an online survey (n?1000). The present study was based upon answers from the open questions concerning dissatisfaction and suggestions for improvement and have been categorized using content analysis.ResultsMothers described failure in several areas, with a negative impact on breastfeeding. Many experienced that they had not been seen and treated like an individual, and that the healthcare staff had been unpleasant, impersonal, ignorant and stressed. Mothers wanted more credit from the staff concerning their own ability and some reported that they had been controlled and ?run over?.

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to investigate the consultants' approach to the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation in temporary work agencies. We examined the motivation of three temporary work agencies to see if there are any differences in how they motivate their consultants. The intrinsic motivation comes from the own spontaneous interest while the extrinsic is related to the surrounding circumstances.We created a survey with 42 questions for the consultants, concerning motivation in order to understand their attitudes to the phenomenon of motivation.The following issues are addressed in our study:- What are consultant?s experiences of motivation in the temporary work agencies and are there any background factors that may impact?- Are there any differences in how consultants in the three different temporary work agencies are experiencing motivation?As analytical tools, we used concepts and theories of the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation based on Self-Determination theory.The results of this study showed no distinct differences between the intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of all consultants, but in general the intrinsic motivation was experienced slightly higher rated. The consultants appeared to be aware of what was expected of them and communication was valued fairly well.

The aim of this essay is to problematize the role of living support in a group home and to examine staff reflections about the users' opportunities for and possibly limits to self determination and, in addition to this, how they work towards supporting this right. The study is conducted through seven semi-structured qualitative interviews. The theoretical points of departure are theories of empowerment and paternalism. We have analysed the study results from the vantage point of these theories. The results are consistent with earlier research showing lack of guidance for supporters and also a lack of common approach towards users..

This paper aims at shedding light on the effects of a broken psychological contract in terms of job satisfaction. In a qualitative field study, the author researches seven newly recruites employees about their expectations when starting their jobs at the rapidly growing, Swedish company Klarna. Using Herzbergs two-factor model of hygiene and motivation factors as well as modern motivation theory, i.e. self-determination theory, the study answers questions as to what makes a candidate choose a company and what factors motivates as well as demotivates the recruit at the job, in the onboarding phase. This thesis examines the tendering process from the point of view of Swedish building contractors. The purpose with the study is to chart the decision process for the contractors during the tendering process. The study is designed as a survey study. This made it possible to reach a wide base of respondents, not letting such factors as geography being an issue. The survey itself was characterised by a very high response rate compared to other similar studies. The result from this study shows that former experience from similar projects, current workload and the clients economic condition are very important factors for both whether or not the contractor will bid for a project as well as the cost estimation and tendering price. Former experience from similar projects is also an important factor for the determination of the indirect costs.

På 1970-talet undersöktes hur den inre motivationen påverkas av yttre belöningar när en individ ska utföra en uppgift. När yttre belöningar ges minskar den inre motivationen för uppgiften. Inre motivation (egenintresse) och identifierad reglering (nödvändigt intresse för att nå ett högre mål) beskrivs i self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2000). The aim of this study has been to achieve an increased understanding of the meaning of home for people in homelessness. The study is based on texts written by people in homelessness and a qualitative content analysis has been used to process the material. The result has been analysed with an inductive approach, using parts of the analysis method grounded theory. Three aspects of the meaning of home was identified in the texts; control, self-determination and independence. The lack of a home means a major limitation concerning these aspects, according to the texts.

This study is about how a swedish brand within the food industry that experiences a crisis following a product failure. It focuses on three areas following the crisis and these are crisis management, recovery strategies and brand management. This study seeks to explain how these areas interact in relation to massive exposure to mass media and how they interact restore the brand's potential loss of reputation. This study was conducted as a case study with a deductive and qualitative approach. The data gathered to this study was mainly based on newspaper articles and complemented with semi-structured interviews with twelve local retailers of the brand..

A well known optimization-problem of multiprocessor system is scheduling of tasks. In this paper I use a variant of previous known algoritm, (Fast Critical Path) for scheduling real-time tasks on a multiprocessor system. This is made in a simulation study in MATLAB. The system architecture is assumed to be a MIMD- machine, (Multiple Instruction stream Multiple Data stream) with bus-typologi and message-architecture. Scheduling was made on this system where the number of processors varying from five to ten.

Self-Determination Theory är en teori som handlar om hur hur och vilken grad av motivation vi har för att göra saker. Vi applicerade denna teori på Crossfitutövare då vi tror att det är en motiverande träningsform. Syftet med studien är att undersöka upplevd kvalitet av motivation i samband med Crossfit-träning. En enkätundersökning genomfördes mot 94 Crossfit-utövare från två Crossfit-anläggningar i västra Sverige. Enkäterna mätte tre olika variabler inom ramen för Self-Determination Theory: tillfredsställelse av psykologiska behov, målsättningar och motiv till träning.
