Antalet asylsökande i Sverige har blivit mer omfattande vilket gör att fler nyanlända försöker att etablera sig på den svenska arbetsmarknaden. Individerna omfattas av en rad olika etableringsinsatser för att integreras i samhället och på arbetsmarknaden. Syftet med vår studie är att analysera nyanländas upplevelser av ett utbildningsföretags insatser utifrån de nyanländas enskilda upplevelser. Vi har valt att studera utbildningsföretagets betydelse för de nyanlända att etableras på arbetsmarknaden, samt vilka resurser och kapital de nyanlända upplever att de får av utbildningsföretaget. Vi har använt oss av kvalitativ metod i vår studie och utfört semistrukturerade intervjuer med våra respondenter.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine the role of librarian in order to illustrate how the librarians work, how their competence and education have changed and developed during the last decade, and ultimately to see what the role of librarian looks like in the 21^st century. After describing the librarians work, competence and education in the 21^st century, we discuss whether or not the changes that have arisen during the last decennium have affected the possibilities for librarianship to develop into an accepted profession. The method of investigation is a qualitative analysis of printed sources. As a basis of the discussion and analysis Andrew Abbotts theory of professions is used. We also use Per Tengblads analysis model, which includes six important steps in analysing the professionalism of an occupation.

Denna uppsats undersöker hur förhållandet mellan karaktären, interagerbarheten ochpresentationen påverkar möjligheterna för hur spelaren uppfattar berättelsen i spelenHalf-Life 2(Valve Corperation, 2004), Fallout 3 (Bethesda Game Studio, 2008) ochFahrenheit (Quantic Dream, 2005). Metoden för analyserna är baserat på Aarseths (2007)teorier och går ut på att jag själv spelat spelen och sedan analyserat dessa utifrån minaegna spelupplevelser. Analyserna tar även upp teorier och begrepp från andra forskare, såsom Marie-Laure Ryan, Andrew Rollings och Ernest Adams, Lee Sheldon och UlfWilhelmsson.Metoden för analyserna lyckas plocka fram flera unika berättartekniker och förhållandenfrån spelen. Bland annat den dolda storyn i Half-life 2, den ytterst interagerbara välden iFallout 3 samt de flera olika huvudkaraktärerna i Fahrenheit, och hur dessa påverkarspelarens uppfattning av berättelsen. Förhållandena är dock inte generella, utan unika förvarje spel, vilket medför att resultaten också är det, och kan därför inte ses som reglerutan mer som riktlinjer för hur en berättarteknik kan se ut..

The purpose of this study has been to examine different aspects of the professional role of the high school librarian, especially the educational role, and its delimitations to the teacher's role. The methods that were used were studies of literature within the subject area and qualitative interviews with high school librarians and high school teachers of social studies. Andrew Abbot's theory on the system of professions was used in the analysis of the results of the study. The high school librarians who were interviewed enabled access to information, both intellectually and physically. They helped students develop information seeking skills and they functioned as educators and counselors.

The aim for this bachelor thesis was to form a deeper understanding of librarians? occupation and professional identity and therefore we have examined library students? and educators? view on professional identity, competence and career possibilities. Our take on this was that there seems to be little interest in managerial positions and we asked ourselves why this is and if we could see a change in interest in the librarians to become. As our theoretical framework, we chose Andrew Abbott?s, 'Theory of Profession'.

There seems to be a consensus in the world that the climate is changing, bringing unpredictable and severe consequences for both humans and nature. The feld of social work is known for helping misfortunate individuals and groups, and is said to deal with people in their environments. Yet there seems to be a lack of giving these environments meaning as also something natural. This thesis has the purpose of exploring the connection between social work and the physical environment made by research literature, using the methodology of literature review. The questions asked is in which ways the physical environment can be connected to human welfare; if so, what implications are there for the feld of social work, and fnally how can the discussion be understood using a typology over environmental sustainability presented by Andrew Dobson.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the identity of librarians. We have done this by conducting a text analysis where we have analysed texts produced by DIK, the major union of librarians, and by Library and Information Science departments in Sweden. The material we have analysed is texts produced in the aim of introducing and marketing the librarian occupation and education. The aim of this study is to find out how the identity of the librarian is expressed in this material. We have conducted the text analysis by adopting the critical discourse analyst Norman Fairclough´s theories.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the quality notions used by the library personnel responsible for the video game department at Malmo City Library. Furthermore, the thesis aims to assess how these notions of quality relate to properties of the actual collection of video games. The empirical results are based on interviews with the responsible library personnel. The result is then analyzed by an interpretation of Carl Gustav Johannsen?s library adapted, theory-based, model of quality definitions.

Because of the situation around the world with war and poorness many people need to leave their homeland and find safeness in other countries. A big amount of this group is children without company of an adult, so called unaccompanied children. The numbers of unaccompanied children who seek safeness in Sweden grow every year. The aim of this study was to investigate how social workers in four municipalities in south of Sweden experience their work with investigating the needs of unaccompanied children. The aim was also to investigate how the social workers experience their opportunities to meet the children?s needs with personalized interventions.

Syftet med detta arbete har varit att undersöka huruvida informationsteknik skapar möjligheter för tredje världen att utvecklas eller om IT i stället ökar klyftan mellan industriländer och utvecklande länder. Centralt i min diskussion har varit frågorna om globalisering och IT kan bidraga till en ny politisk ordning som grundas på dialog och samtycke i stället för våld och makt samt om globalisering och IT kan bidraga till en mer rättvis värld. Teoretisk utgångspunkt har varit Andrew Linklaters teori om "the triple transformation of political community". Tanken bakom den tredelade transformation är att skapa ökade sociala relationer som är mer universalistiska till sin natur, mindre ojämlika samt mer känsliga för kulturella skillnader. I mitt arbete påvisar jag tendenser till att informationstekniken kan bidraga till ökad universalism samt till ökad känslighet för kulturella skillnader.

The aim of this study is to describe how Swedish research librarians feel that their work has been affected by electronic journals. The study focuses on medical electronic journals accessed through consortia agreements via Bibsam, the Royal Librarys Department for National Co-ordination and Development. This thesis includes two main parts: a literature survey and an empirical study. The literature survey shows that since the 1990´s most research libraries are hybrid libraries including both printed and electronic information sources and that librarians tasks to seek and organize information have remained but the tools have changed. Qualitative interviews were performed with four librarians at two university libraries and one university college library on how their work with electronic journals differed from their work with printed journals, which new tasks the electronic journals have brought and which have disappeared and how the librarians professional role has been affected.

Denna studie prövar och utvecklar två dominerande teorier om civilsamhällets roll för demokratiutveckling genom att belysa det avvikande fallet Hizbollah i Libanon. Teorierna representeras dels av Robert Putnams teori om civilsamhället som en arena där socialt kapital och tillit skapas mellan medborgare, och dels av Jean Cohen och Andrew Aratos teori som ser civilsamhället som en inflytandekanal mellan medborgare och staten respektive det ekonomiska och politiska samhället. Analysen består i en studie av Hizbollahs verksamhet genom linsen på de två teorikomplexen för att pröva och jämföra dessas förklaringskraft för olika aspekter av Hizbollahs civilsamhällesarbete och dess uttryck för demokratisering. Med hjälp av denna analys avser uppsatsen sedan att dra slutsatser kring styrkorna och svagheterna med de använda teorierna utifrån hur väl de förmår svara mot ett fall i en icke västerländsk och odemokratisk kontext och på så sätt komplettera och utvidga dessa med alternativa förklaringsmodeller.Studien visar att Putnams teori endast har viss begränsad förklaringskraft för fenomenet Hizbollah, och finner istället en mer tillfredställande teori i Cohen & Aratos verk p.g.a. dess syn på civilsamhället som en kanal för sociala rörelser i kraft att framtvinga politisk förändring.

Falkenbergs kommun har en låg utbildningsnivå bland invånarna vilket har lett till att kommunpolitikerna beslutat för att ta hjälp av Högskolan i Halmstad för att hitta strategier i syfte att höja utbildningsnivån bland invånarna. Utbildningsnivån bland invånarna i Falkenberg är tio procentenheter lägre än i riket i övrigt och när samhället möts av lågkonjunktur kan detta leda till att kommunens attraktionskraft och utvecklingspotential minskar. Studiens syfte är att ta del av vad sex unga vuxna som förvärvsarbetar har för tankar om högre utbildning och arbete samt hur de bedömer värdet av eftergymnasiala utbildningar. Vilka faktorer påverkar de unga vuxnas val av att vidareutbilda sig eller stanna kvar i arbete? Studien bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer och resultatet har analyserats ur Phil Hodkinson och Andrew C.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine the profession of librarianship by studying tasks in Swedish public libraries. The method is a textual analysis of articles inspired by the critical discourse analysis of Norman Fairclough. The theory applied consists of the profession theory of Andrew Abbott and the gender theory of Yvonne Hirdman. The questions raised are: how do librarians speak about their tasks, which discourses can be constructed and how can profession theory and gender theory explain the result.

Vårt syfte med detta examensarbete är att förstå nyanländas upplevelser och tankar kring sitt karriärval i det nya landet utifrån faktorer som tidigare utbildning från hemlandet, språk och studie- och yrkesvägledning. Undersökningen handlar om nyanlända med hög utbildning från hemlandet som går på SFI. Våra frågeställningar till examensarbetet är: Hur upplever nyanlända att tidigare utbildning och det nya språket påverkar karriärvalet i Sverige? Hur upplever nyanlända att studie- och yrkesvägledning påverkar deras karriärval i Sverige? Till detta arbete har vi använt oss av Phil Hodkinson och Andrew Sparkes Careership teori samt effekten av Cooling down som kan uppstå under vägledningssamtalen. Studien bygger på en kvalitativ metod där vi har intervjuat sex nyanlända vuxna som går på SFI-utbildningen.
