Human-computer interaction is central for computer assisted development. The aim was to investigate the user experience of a new (U2) compared to an old (U1) computer system, within a cognitive psychology frame of reference. Six subjects, frequently using the system, participated in the study. It was shown that the new (U2) compared to the old system (U1) enhanced and supported more the users? system related procedures/tasks.

Through geopolitical theory this thesis explores how conflicts within states can be read and understood according to an analytical model determining one or several possible causes for the conflict.  The model is created by the author and reflects geopolitical theory by giving three possible explanations to an intrastate conflict: culture, economy or territorial construction. The aim of the thesis is testing this model on two selectively chosen case studies ? i.e. two intrastate conflicts ? namely: the upcoming referendum in Scotland and the terror attack at Tiananmen Square in China.

The purpose with our essay was to describe and understand the treatment of the homehelp staff towards the elderly addicted caretakers within the care system. Both in a practical aspect as well as in an attitudinal aspect. In order to get the answers to our overall purpose of our essay, we had as a starting point the following questions:* What help is given to the elderly addicted caretakers?* Are the elderly addicted caretakers a stigmatized caretaker group?* What approach does the home help staff conduct towards the elderly addicted caretakers?* Is there a preparedness among the home help staff when it comes to as to whether or not a care taker has an addiction issue or not?When analysing the material we used a qualitative analytical method in order to understand the care givers treatment towards the addicted caretakers. We combined the interviews with the so called vinjett technique; furthermore we used various sociological theories as well as earlier scientific discoveries.The result of the essay was that elderly addicted caretakers are an exposed group.

A personality test is a useful tool in recruitment contexts. Studies have shown that participants distort their answers in a socially desirable manner. The purpose of this study was to investigate if people respond more or less socially desirable depending on how they rate themselves in a personality test, based on the "big five" personality dimensions.Eighty people, (40 women and 40 men), 19-42 years, (M= 24,1 SD= 3,76) rated themselves on a personality test. Group one, (20 women and 20 men) completed the test on paper. Group two, (20 women and 20 men) completed the test verbally.

The purpose of this thesis is, through both a quantitative and qualitative study, to map out how the interaction appears between the established parties and the radical right-wing party, the Sweden Democrat?s (SD) and their core issue ? immigration in the Swedish parliament. By applying analytical dimensions on the parliamentary protocols regarding the immigration issue between the years of 2010-2012 this study will get an insight on how the argumentation concerning immigration has developed since their entrance into the Swedish parliament in 2010. The result shows that SD, through the rejection treatment of the established parties, fulfilled the three conditions which accordingly to the study's theoretical framework are crucial for the party's future success. In the established parties? reception of SD regarding immigration, SD is, to a large extent, left unchallenged as the established parties rather focus on integration instead of challenge SD in the immigration issue.

The aim of this study was to examine creativity, measured with four different tests, and self-image in 18-19 year old women (N = 30), and their earlier presence of imaginary companions. The result showed that there were many correlations between the different creativity measurements. Self-image correlated significant with fluency of ideas in one test. "Psychological health" along with "skills, talent and abilities" were the two most important self-image aspects for creativity. We found negative relationships between imaginary companions and creativity, but a positive relationship with self-image.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to explore the meaning of literature forliterate immigrants in regards to identity and integration. The study is based onqualitative interviews with eight Swedes of various backgrounds, but with thecommon experience of an immigration process. In addition to being migrants, therespondents are also public library users who have an interest in literature and whoread literature during their leisure time. To analyze the empirical material ananalytical framework, consisting of a number of analytical concepts from Libraryand Information Science, Literature Science, and Sociology, has been used.

För att kunna hålla jämna steg med utvecklingen och förändringar i samhället har flera av Sveriges kommuner infört ett rehabiliterande arbetssätt att jobba efter inom äldreomsorgen. I denna kvantitativa studie, ställs frågan huruvida det skiljer sig i självupplevd arbetstillfredsställelse mellan personal som jobbar enligt ett rehabiliterande arbetssätt och de som inte gör det. För att mäta variabeln arbetstillfredsställelse användes ett frågeformulär, QPSNordic-34+. I enkätundersökningen deltog 180 anställda inom äldreomsorgen i två svenska kommuner och 120 besvarade enkäten, vilket motsvarar en svarsfrekvens på 66,7%. Resultatet visade att det finns en signifikant skillnad i hur man upplever arbetstillfredsställelse hos anställda som jobbar enligt ett rehabiliterande arbetssätt jämfört med de som inte gör det..

Secondary schools have for decades debated whether they promote social reproduction which is considered to generate the homogeneous student compositions. The gap between the academic programs and vocational education programs is considered to increase. What in recent years has appeared in research is that the gap is increasing most tend to be in the specific academic program, particularly in science. This paper's intention is to describe the science program at a local level and the pupils who were admitted to the science program autumn 2009 on the basis of an educational sociological perspective. The survey consisted of a census in which all students were given the opportunity to answer a questionnaire.

Uppsatsen behandlar teorin om kognitiv dissonans och dess effekter på attityder. Teorin om kognitiv dissonans beskriver bland annat att man strävar efter att handla konsekvent med sin attityd. Handlar man inkonsekvent kan man uppleva dissonans.Syftet med undersökningen var att mäta attitydförändring utifrån kognitiv dissonansteorin. Vi undersökte detta med experimentmetod och enkäter där vi med hjälp av 77 personer mätte attityder till olika organisationer före och efter en påverkan från vår sida.Våra analyser visade inga signifikanta effekter av attitydförändring i experimentet. Vår främsta förklaring till detta är den kognitiva dissonansen vi försökte skapa blev för liten och att andra motivationsfaktorer påverkade resultatet för mycket..

The acts of promoting local business and implementing efforts to appear as an attractive location for potential business are rather new activities among Swedish municipalities. The knowledge about how these activities are organised and what strategies are perused are fairly limited. In addition the structures concerning cooperation between municipalities for economic policies contain incentives both for and against cooperation. This creates a complicated situation. Using prior research mainly done by Markus Gossas, Lennart J Lundqvist and an analytical model designed by Jon Pierre, which in this essay is completed with the works of Roger Henning, these issues are addressed.

The picture book is the children's first contact with the world of literature. The aim of our study is to look at how children and adults are portrayed in the picture book, from a gender perspective. Our aim is to critically examine how girls and boys, men and women are presented when it comes to both characteristics and appearance. Our research also focuses on how the text and images complete each other and we conduct a qualitative text and image analysis. We use Nikolajevas (2000) analytical model for picture books and previous research that already exists within the subject.In our paper we have clarified the concepts related to gender: gender, gender roles, gender equality and the picture book.

Delat ledarskap har på senare år blivit alltmer uppmärksammat, främst inom idrotten där Tommy Söderberg och Lars Lagerbäck rönt stora framgångar. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka om inställningen till delat ledarskap är mer positivt bland de personer som haft denna ledarform än bland personer som inte upplevt detta. Syftet är dessutom att se på hur ett specifikt delat ledarskap fungerar. Genom intervjuer med två elitfotbollstränare som utövat delat ledarskap samt en enkätundersökning med elitfotbollsspelare, har data samlats in.Resultaten visade ingen signifikant skillnad i inställningen till delat ledarskap hos fotbollspelarna. Däremot gav intervjuerna med tränarna en bra inblick i hur ett delat ledarskap fungerar, något som kan vara framtidens ledarskapsform..
