This paper is a study and comparison between the two Wireless LAN (WLAN) standards HiperLAN/2 and IEEE 802.11a. WLANs are used instead or together with ordinary LANs to increase mobility in for example an office. HiperLAN/2 is an European standard developed by ETSI and the IEEEs standard is American. A WLAN-card consists roughly of a Medium Access Control (MAC), Physichal layer (PHY) and an antenna. The antenna is the same for the different standards.

Sammanfattning:Denna studie syftade till att kvantitativt undersöka känslan av sammanhang utifrån ett salutogent perspektiv och med en fenomenologisk ansats. Detta gjordes via enkäter bland ett antal gymnasieelever. Inriktningen var mot skolmiljön, de sociala relationerna och studierna i skolan. Avsikten var att göra en deskriptiv undersökning. Litteraturstudier genomfördes främst via databaser, med granskning av vetenskapliga artiklar och rapporter för att undersöka tidigare forskning.

Smallbusinesses need access to many different kinds of informationduring day-to-day operations. Since small businesses oftenlack resources like time, staff and money, the public librarycould provide small businesses with information.The aim of this thesis is to study information needs amongsmall businesses in Övertorneå. The study also aims to suggestwhat kind of service the library could provide accordingto the information needs and the most valued informationsources of the businesses..

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka hur Uppsala kommuns medborgarvända beslutstexter står sig i förhållande till den klarspråksnorm som kommer till uttryck i Klarspråkstestet för beslut. Textanalyser är gjorda på 18 av kommunens beslutstexter, samt en besvärshänvisning. Beslutstexterna representerar fem av kommunens åtta uppdragskontor, och är skrivna av tio olika handläggare. Som analysverktyg har Klarspråkstestet för beslut använts. Undersökningen har visat att Uppsala kommuns medborgarvända beslutstexter, samt besvärshänvisning, överlag står sig bra i de avsnitt som rör textens rubriker, stycken och samband, meningar samt ord och fraser.

In this bachelor thesis the aim is to explore how university libraries and researchers function together. I will do this through interviews with phd students and examine how they reason on the use of libraries and other resources available in campus and witch other methods they use to gather information. The graduate students differ in where they are with their research process, but all of them work in the field of social sciences. To help me in my analysis I have adopted Wilsons model of information behaviour and modify this to better suit my purpose. My findings show that they mainly use the library to access materials and avoid use of the librarians, due to perception of low usefulness.

Cattle used for meat production can be held outside all year round and due to the legislation they should have access to shelters or other buildings for protection against the elements giving them a dry and clean bedding. There are different opinions concerning their need of protection and the question about necessity of shelters for cattle is of current interest due to a less profitable economy in meat production and the investment costs for shelters. The aim of this study was to acquire more knowledge about the natural behaviour of cattle concerning their use of shelters. The basis of the study was a series of questions regarding when animals choose to stay in shelters, if shelters were used less when they had access to protecting vegetation, how temperature and weather conditions affected the use of shelters and the influence of distance between shelter and feed. Behavioural studies was conducted at five different farms where six groups of suckler cows and heifers of following breeds and crossbreeds were observed; Aberdeen Angus, Charolais, Hereford, Scottish Highland Cattle, Simmental and the Swedish breeds SKB and SRB.

Matematik har blivit ett omdiskuterat ämne i hela Sverige de senaste åren och detta på grund av de dåliga resultaten som har uppnåtts i olika undersökningar. Det har även visat sig i forskning att matematikundervisningen till största del bedrivs med enskilt arbete i läromedel och att detta inte är till någon fördel för elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor. Syftet med arbetet är att analysera om läromedel i årskurs 4 stödjer elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor i deras utveckling och om lärarna får stöd i undervisningssituationer med dessa elever. För att kunna undersöka detta genomfördes en läromedelsanalys av sex förekommande läromedel i grundskolan för årskurs 4. Till läromedelsanalysen utvecklades ett analysverktyg.

Today's global market means that raw materials are sought and bought from all over the world. This creates an higher demand for a well-functioning supply chain. In our thesis we have studied a large paper mill in northen Sweden which experiences issues with flow of raw material. Our aim has hence been to examine which aspects affect the flow of raw materials to the mill, and how these can be adressed using an IT-system. The question we sought to answer was; What factors are important to consider and how do these affect the ability of an IT-system which will support the flow of raw material at the paper mill? We have found that the problems are strongly connected to the low amount of information sharing between the mill and the suppliers.

Ericsson?s factory in Kumla, Modules Kumla, became a hub for radio modules and micro base stations, which enables mobile communication through radio base stations, in 2004. Because of this the factory focuses more on the logistics operations. This has led to a need to be able to plan the capacity for the materials handling system. This master thesis has therefore been performed at Modules Kumla to develop a capacity calculation model for the material handling flow during the autumn of 2005.The work has contained a mapping of the material handling flow regarding to which activities was performed and how much time they consumed.
