Digitizing and digital libraries create great opportunities toprovide access to cultural heritage globally, but the quicklychanging information technology environment also raises manyquestions. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse whatvisions and ideas behind one specific digital library, Europeana,that can be found in documentation related to the project. Whatideas can be identified concerning aspects such as userparticipation, access to information, knowledge andinformation literacy? What is the project?s role in relation toeducation, preservation of cultural heritage and democracy?The method used to answer these research questions is adescriptive idea analysis. The empirical material, consisting ofprimary sources written in relation to the project, has beencategorized within dimensions and analysed according toDouglas Raber?s three public library strategies: social activism,the conservative response and the populist initiative.

The purpose of this Masters thesis is to investigate how actors involved in a municipal's adult education view students access to information- and library resources. The adult education in the municipal is on contract which means that there are several different actors involved in the realization of the adult education. The raised questions in this study deals with; libraries role within adult education, students needs for becoming information literate and where responsibilities for students access to libraries lies. We used a qualitative method which includes interviews with two principles, a controller, three pedagogues and a librarian. The empirical data is analysed against taxonomies and categories which originates from the theories of David Loertscher and Christine Bruce.

While designing an intranet for people with mobile work there are things you have to consider. This thesis is aim to bring understanding to the difficulties involved in these kinds of situations. Our focus is to develop ideas that motivate the assistants to use the intranet. We have looked into the profession of personal assistants and wish to highlight their problems to access the intranet. And we will as well demonstrate their needs for communication.

The aim of this master thesis is to study if the websites of the Swedish public libraries are accessible to all people. According to the library law all people must have access to the public libraries and their information services. Today, when the Internet is one of the largest sources of information, it is important that all people, including those with different kind of disabilities, children, elderly, immigrants and people with old technical equipment, have access to the public libraries websites.We have in this study considered the graphic user interface, the language, the structure and the navigation possibilities at ten public library websites. We have from a checklist of our own, based upon the opinion of different experts such as Jacob Nielsen and Tommy Sundström, investigated the websites.The main finding of our study is that the websites are generally accessible even thou we found a lack of accessible for immigrants. Most of the websites had some pages in English, but none hade all pages in this language.

SammanfattningDet här examensarbetet har genomförts på DHL Freight AB i Eskilstuna som transporterar gods över hela Sverige. Där målsättningen varit att analysera den nuvarande sorteringsprocessen, identifiera bristerna runt sorteringsprocesserna och därefter presentera eventuella förbättringsförlag.De metoder som har använts för att utföra examensarbetet är följande. Resultatet grundar sig på den information som har införskaffats via observationer och intervjuer med personalen som är delaktiga i sorteringsprocessen samt olika litteraturstudier.De mest tongivande teorierna som examensarbetet utgått från och som författaren har genomgående haft i åtanke är logistik, distribution, Lean Produktion, kvalitet och processer.Analysen som utfördes resulterade i att ett antal brister som finns i sorteringsprocessen som kunde identifieras. De här bristerna bidrog till att komplikationer uppstod vid sorteringen av gods på DHL Freight AB. Några exempel på brister som identifierats är att efter godset har hanterats sker inte någon kvalitetssäkring innan godset lämnar terminalen.

Previous studies have shown that there exists a gap between purchase intention and behavior in consumption situations. This gap is especially prevalent for sustainable or green products and even more so in terms of sustainable apparel consumption. Therefore, the adoption of sustainable fashion remains low as fast fashion dominates the industry. A counter-movement for mass consumption - access-based consumption - has reached the apparel industry and in Sweden we see it in the form of clothing libraries. This qualitative thesis uses in-depth interviews to uncover the feelings of seven consumers towards the idea of accessing rather than owning their clothing as a more sustainable consumption form, factoring in the strong identity connection that we have to our clothes and how this affects their perceptions.

Information technology (IT) penetrates more and more areas in the community. The Commission for Information Technology is of the opinion that the use ought to be widespread but states that this is not yet a reality. Differences exist between groups, e.g. between women and men. The purpose of this Master's thesis is to examine how female university students enrolled in two different programmes experience and use IT and to compare this with society's picture of the relationship between IT and women.

The aim of this Masters thesis is to examine the accessibility in public libraries for persons with dyslexia and visually impaired persons. In order to do this, library services, information and attitudes have been studied. Data have been collected through interviews and studies of documents, in particular guidelines for library service to disabled persons. The theoretical starting point of the analysis is Professor Michael Bucklands different aspects of access to information. He discusses six types of barriers that must be overcome if access is to be achieved.

The aim of this study is to gain an understanding of how dyslexic adults experience the library, their meeting with a librarian and how they feel they are being helped with finding literature. To answer the purpose of the study I have conducted six semi-structured interviews with dyslexic adults.. Two theoretical models were used as an analytical tool in this study. One was Michael Buckland's aspects of access to information. The other is four aspects that explains the significance of personal encounter at the library.

Denna uppsats ska kartlägga och beskriva relationen mellan egna inköpsstrategier och lagen om offentlig upphandling (LOU) inom Försvarsmaktens upphandlingsprocess. Vår teoretiska referensram och det som behandlar egna inköpsstrategier utgörs av Peter Kraljics (1983) modell. Modellen bygger på fyra stycken faser: klassificering av inköpt material, marknadsanalys, strategisk positionering och utarbetandet av handlingsplaner. För att utreda detta har vi genomfört en fallstudie på Försvarsmaktens Logistik, FMLOG. Vi har intervjuat berörd personal samt behandlat upphandlingar genomförda av FMLOG.Analysen av upphandlingsarbetet och upphandlingarna visar en konflikt i relationen mellan egna inköpsstrategier och LOU.

Bakgrund: Den svenska transportmarknaden domineras idag av stora och internationella aktörer. Marknaden är mogen vilket innebär att transportbolagen måste erbjuda andra värden utöver själva transporten. Begrepp som miljö ligger långt ifrån transportsektorns grundtanke och blir därmed inget naturligt konkurrensmedel. Internationella undersökningar visar att transportbolagen lägger stor vikt vid miljöfrågor när det kommer till framtida strategier. Svenskar har en tradition och en image att vara miljövänliga men detta intresse har ännu inte besvarats av transportmarknaden.Problem: Vilka faktorer är viktiga för att svenska transportföretag ska kunna uppnå långsiktig överlevnad med en miljöprofilering?Syfte: Syftet med denna uppsats är att analysera och utvärdera oöverensstämmelser (misfits) mellan transportköparen och transportleverantören med avseende på miljö.Metod: En kvalitativ ansats har använts för att samla empiri.

In our bachelor thesis we have strived to examine the representation of journalism students in Nicaragua. The freedom of press is much lower compared to Sweden and the journalist profession is protected by a certificate. It is also a high level of corruption within the country. Our investigation concerns who has access to the journalist education and the goal is to compare that with the public in Nicaragua. To be able to examine the representation among the journalism students we have chosen seven different aspects to examine, the sex of the student, witch social class they belong to, their academic background, religion, ethnicity, geographical belonging and political view.

Detta Examensarbete är utfört på pappersbruket Wargön, Holmen Paper AB. Wargön säljer sitt papper genom sina tre varumärken och varje varumärke har tre gramvikter. De mesta av papperet säljs i rullform men en del säljs i färdigklippta ark. Wargön vill kunna erbjuda sina kunder specifika pappersformat på arken vilket medför att pappersformaten kan variera. Den verkliga ledtiden är längre än vad kunden accepterar och därför behövs en buffert.

Jag har i detta arbete ställt mig frågan Vilka kunskaper/färdigheter behöver en soldat utbildad i subarktiskt klimat kompletteras med innan insats i tropiskt klimat? vilken jag valt att svara på genom två delproblem:-          Vilka krav på individens färdigheter ställer det tropiska klimatet?-          Vilka färdigheter utvecklar soldaten vid utbildning i subarktiskt klimat? Jag har sedan använt svenska vinterreglementen för att ta reda på vilka kunskaper och färdigheter som en soldat utbildad i subarktiskt klimat införskaffar sig under sin grundutbildning. Därefter har jag fördjupat mig i den amerikanska djungelmanualen för att skapa mig en bild av vilka krav det tropiska klimatet ställer på individens färdigheter.Under studierna av de olika reglementena urskiljde jag då ett antal påverkansfaktorer vilka jag valde att använda som analysverktyg för att kunna göra en komparation mellan de olika klimatens krav på individen. Dessa olika påverkansfaktorer är Acklimatisering, Vätska/mat, Fysisk status, Klädsel, Hygien, Psykisk status och Sjukdomar/skador. Jag har sedan utifrån varje analysverktyg jämfört vad respektive miljös litteratur säger om individen kopplat till just den påverkansfaktorn och sedan diskuterat respektive påverkansfaktor var för sig.

Den ostrukturerade dokumenthantering, som idag förekommer på avdelningen Ida på företaget SMHI, gav upphov till detta examensarbete. Ett dokumenthanteringssystem har införskaffats till avdelningen. Dokumenthanteringssystemet är en produkt från Microsoft med namnet SharePoint Portal Server (SPS), vilken levererats av WM-data. SPS är relativt ny på marknaden, vilket gör att erfarenheter saknas kring produkten. Syftet med dokumenthanteringssystemet är att samla alla dokument på samma plats, vilket gör dem lätt tillgängliga för alla berörda.
