Den moderna flerenhetsfranchisetagaren: En studie i utformandet av kontrollsystem hos växande franchisetagare

Franchise theorists have to a large extent failed to keep up with the actual development in global franchise chains. The recent emergence of fast growing multi-unit-franchisees has fundamentally been ignored, and it has been claimed that the new phenomenon can be regarded as a mere replication of the franchisors? structure and control system into sub hierarchies. This study however, suggests that the reality is more complex. Through conducting case studies of two Nordic multi-unit-franchisees, new theories are built explaining how and why control systems are designed the way they are.

Purpose: The purpose of the essay is; to explain and clarify how the company is acting to lead members in social media to achieve valuable external communication. The authors believe that it is important to act with credibility and quality in social media, to accomplish long lasting relationships. When employees communicate with consumers their conduct is relevant to the company's credibility.Methodology: An inductive approach has been used for the empirical data collection since the authors have been studying the reality without existing theories. A qualitative research method has been used for collecting the empirical material. Primary data was collected from telephone interviews with seven companies, active in social media.Conclusions: The study shows that the power of employees? can be used when designing strategies for social media.

Musikestetiska produktioner i den pedagogiska verksamheten - en fallstudie av Allvar Gullstrandgymnasiet

Title: Music-esthetical productions in the educational work - a case study of the Allvar Gullstrand highschool.Problem: A problem associated with working with project- and thematic studies which result in esthetical productions is that it often demands extra effort and time beyond the schedule to carry the production through. There are no instructions saying that schools are to work with this kind of arrangements, but nevertheless it occurs in most schools, however in a different extent, quality and form. Purpose: The purpose of my study is to elucidate possibilities and limitations in different methods of work and structures, and also examine what motives the teachers and the school management have for working with a music-esthetical production as a goal. Method: I have done a qualitative case study of a Swedish upper secondary school where I interviewed four teachers and one principal, to get a view of reality and examine how teachers with different background look at, and in reality behave in, the work with music-esthetical productions in the education. Conclusions: What I have concluded in this case study is the importance of having a clear goal and that the project works are considered to create meaning and personal growth.

Recent studies show that manufacturing companies to a larger extent use historical cost accounting in their internal accounts, at the expense of calculated costs. The explanation behind this is claimed to be that firms are subject to careful scrutiny by the stock market. Consequently, top management stresses the need of evaluating all parts of the firm from external accounting. However, lower management levels express a general concern that the incentive to invest in machines will decrease. This master thesis aims to investigate whether or not there is an objective reason behind this concern.

This project details the process of converting and transferring a turn-based paper prototype to a digital real-time format. The projects goals were to see how well the original feeling could be transferred to real-time and how the transition itself went. Resurser och hinder i ett bostadsområde för ökad fysisk aktivitet hos barn och ungdomar

Fysisk aktivitet är en viktig del att belysa i bostadsområden då det är där människor lever stora delar av sin dag. Flera faktorer kan hjälpa och ge möjlighet till ökad fysisk aktivitet hos barn och ungdomar samt att det finns motverkande faktorer som påverkar och hindrar fysisk aktivitet. Syftet med studien var att belysa faktorer som ger ökad fysisk aktivitet för barn och ungdomar inom ett bostadsområde samt undersöka vilka motverkande faktorer i ett bostadsområde som leder till att barn och ungdomar inte är fysiskt aktiva. Studien baserades på 11 vetenskapliga artiklar där innehållsanalysen inspirerades av en manifest innehållsanalys. Detta resulterade i två kategorier med vardera fyra respektive två underkategorier: Faktorer till ökad fysisk aktivitet med underkategorierna bostadsområdet, barn och ungdomars aktivitetsplats, exercise games och skillnad mellan pojkar och flickor, samt motverkande faktorer till fysisk aktivitet med underkategorierna teknikens påverkan på fysisk aktivitet och teknik är lättillgängligt.

Reading and analyzing literature has a long tradition of being an essential part of the teaching of English in Sweden. As the offers of entertainment have increased in popular culture with the introduction of computer games, internet and other media, interest in reading novels has decreased. Literature is still a compulsory part of English teaching and the question is how teachers of today use literature and what kind of literary instruction they use.The aim of this study is to explore and discuss the literary instruction discourse in pedagogical texts, lessons, created by and for English teachers of Swedish Upper Secondary Schools. The lessons have been collected from the site lektion.se, where teachers are able to share knowledge and lessons. The study uses an analytical method based on Norman Fairclough´s Critical Discourse Analysis in order to analyze the lessons.

Background: The stress in the society seems to having become more amplified and more trying. Statistics show that the appearance of stress related industrial diseases have increased strikingly. What can be stressing at the workplace? The work conditions are not the only thing that causes stress but no matter what the causes are employers have to restore the employees to their former positions. The aim of the study is to show how children and adults are described in three picture books, examining how children and adults are portrayed in text-and-picture narrative and how this has changed over time. We have analysed how the characters in the books are presented and how the representation of children and adults has changed in our own times.The material for the study consists of three picture books from different periods, with the focus on how children and adults are described as the common point of departure. The analysed picture books are: Tomtebobarnen (Beskow 1919), Aja baja, Alfons Åberg! (Bergström 1972) and Snäll (Dahle 2008).We have arrived at the conclusion that a text-and-picture narrative is in very large measure a reflection of the outlook on children, childhood and child rearing at the time when the book was published. The result shows that the greatest change that has happened is that parents? and adults? dominance in the books has declined over the years, and that children have been given a more prominent role.

The Swedish Moderate party has openly referred to themselves as a liberal-conservative party. This definition, however, leads to a possible ambiguity where the extent to which the party is conservative, and liberal is up for debate. Furthermore, this might allow for extensive changes within the party, while still using the same ideological mantra. This study employs a longitudinal ideological analysis of five official party documents published between 1984 and 2022 to analyse how the party has drifted between the two ideologies over the years. The analysis is done using three political areas: immigration, economy, and safety.

Pedagogisk dokumentation : Ett perspektiv på lärande i förskolan

This study deals with pedagogical documentation. With a revised preschool curriculum,where this is a crucial aid for illustrating the learning process of children and educators, aswell as demonstrating the activities of the school, it is of the utmost relevance to further explorethis notion. The study focuses on a single municipality and explores the various ways inwhich its preschools do in reality deal with this issue in correlation with the actual visions andgoals set by that municipality. Through a series of qualitative interviews with educators aswell as with the municipality Head of Education, this study outlines how educational documentationis in fact applied in the schools in question. The gathered data has been interpretedwith a power perspective as well as with a sociocultural perspective in mind.

Vikten av Ljud för Navigation i Virtuell Miljö : Orientering med Binaural ljudsimulering

Dagens digitala spel är oerhört komplexa produktioner som ofta kräver en multitud av  sofistikerade verktyg för att förverkligas. Ett intrikat nätverk av moderna lösningar där såväl  visuella som audiovisuella element samverkar för att frambringa fängslande och entusiasmerande  upplevelser är vad som gör dagens spelproduktioner, och ingen annan bransch har sett samma  raketutveckling som spelbranschen sedan dess begynnelse. Ljuddesignens roll i digitala spel har  dock förblivit passiv där andra element tagit an mer dynamiska roller i varierande form.  Generellt sett är ljudet oftast mer ett komplement till de visuella elementen än ett fristående  förmedlingsredskap. Då audiovisuell kommunikation ej delar vissa av de begränsningar som  visuell kommunikation innehar, såsom grafisk processeringskraft, bildskärmsavgränsningar etc,  så ser vi att ljuddesign besitter en stor mängd outnyttjad potential som i teorin hade kunnat  förgylla spelupplevelser kolossalt.Det här arbetet undersöker både genom analoga och digitala medel hur införandet av binaural  lyssning i spelproduktioner kan förbättra navigationsförutsättningarna för användaren avsevärt  då djup och höjd kan skildras mycket mer effektivt, samt hur dess applicering i tredimensionella  miljöer kan främja såväl nöjes­ som lärosyften i så kallade Audio based Environment Simulators  (AbES).
