In Scandinavia the general idea of the Bronze Age society is that it was organised as chiefdoms. The model for what they looked like is taken from the anthropological studies of the Polynesian chiefdoms. The aim of my study is to investigate a Scandinavian Bronze Age feature, known as cairns mainly containing fire-cracked stone. This is compared with how people in different Polynesian chiefdoms, looked at similar remain. This is done to get a background for new ways of interpretation of such remains.

The purpose of this paper is to examine different methods for organisation and retrieval of pop and rock music recordings, and the problems concerned with this organisation. The focus is the question whether values towards pop and rock music influence the organisation of music in major Swedish record collections. As a background for this discussion, the study also discusses how music is organised in these collections, and what kind of problems are associated with their organisation. Also included in the paper is a minor investigation of how problems with the organisation of pop and rock music are dealt with in library and information science, and how values towards pop and rock music are dealt with in society in general. The main focus of the study, however, is an empirical study of how values towards pop and rock music manifest themselves in the pop and rock organisation of six Swedish institutions with major collections of music recordings.

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the content in Swedish library weblogs. We want to examine what the posts contain, especially on the subject knowledge organization. Which themes do the weblogs have in common? How the weblog authors categorize their posts and how the readers use the comment function, are other questions we seek answers to in the thesis. We have performed content analysis where we created the code units during the process.

The purpose of this essay is to examine how a newly built library and an old library from the sixties work out of an experience and feeling oriented view. Are the fundamental conditions of an old library compatible with the library standards of today? To be able to carry out this examination we have chosen two rather small Swedish libraries. One is the public library of Hässleholm, which opened in the year 2000, and the other is the public library of Kristianstad opened in 1965. The material used to attain the purpose of the study consists of literature studies and qualitative observations and interviews.

This essay is about leadership in libraries within the academic world, i.e. leadership in research libraries. To place our survey in a context we begin the theoretical review with a chapter about organisation theory. We dont think its possible to separate the leader from the organisation so we wanted to describe the organisation and its effect on the leadership. The next theoretical section is about leadership research.

Reklam är idag en naturlig del av vår vardag. Investeringarna i reklam växer för varje år som går och år 2006 investerade olika annonsörer i Sverige över 60 miljarder kronor i marknadskommunikation. Ett ständigt ökande mediebrus och ett minskat förtroende för reklam har gjort det svårare för annonsörerna att nå fram med sitt budskap och reklamen fungerar inte alltid som planerat, närmare bestämt 80 - 85 % av reklamen som görs fungerar inte. Vad krävs då för att göra effektiv reklam och vad innebär egentligen effektiv reklam? Vilken betydelse har en reklamtävling som 100-Wattaren för begreppet effektiv reklam? Syftet med denna studie var att beskriva vilka kunskaper sjuksköterskor har om äldre över 65 år med depression. Studiens syfte var även att beskriva vad som finns i litteraturen om depression hos äldre över 65 år. Depression hos äldre är vanligt, underdiagnostiserat och inkorrekt behandlad. Den orsakar dåligt välbefinnande och ökar vårdtyngden och dödligheten.Studien är en beskrivande litteraturstudie baserad på arton vetenskapliga artiklar. Litteratursökningar gjordes i databaserna CINAHL och PubMed samt manuellt i Högskolans bibliotek.

Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att analysera hur framgångsrika CSR-användande företag verksamma i Sverige har utformat CSR-arbetet. Utifrån denna information ska ett ramverk skapas innehållande styrverktyg och styrtekniker för att underlätta företags arbete med att styra CSR-insatser.Metod: Studien bygger på fem intervjustudier som är genomförda på fem framgångsrika företag verksamma i Sverige. Den teoretiska referensramen är framtagen genom akademiska tidsskrifter och böcker. Den empiriska datan är insamlad genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer genomförda på plats och genom telefon.Slutsats och rekommendationer: Resultatet av denna studie visar att den främsta anledningen för de undersökta företagen att arbeta med Corporate Social Responsibility bygger på ekonomiska fördelar. Intressentstyrning är den främsta faktorn för att lyckas med arbetet med Corporate Social Responsibility.

Patienter vars hälsotillstånd försämras på sjukhusen ska känna sig trygga i att det upptäcks i tid och att åtgärder vidtas för att förebygga och behandla försämringen.Syfte:Att undersöka undersköterskors, sjuksköterskors och läkares behov av utbildning i att tidigt upptäcka patienter med sviktande vitala funktioner på fyra vårdavdelningar på Akademiska sjukhuset.Metod:Författarna valde att göra en deskriptiv, kvantitativ tvärsnittstudie. Studien pågick under vecka 9 och 10 år 2011. Det delades ut 202 enkäter, varav 69 blev besvarade, vilket innebär att svarsfrekvensen uppgick till 34 %.Resultat: Fyrtioåtta procent av respondenterna upplevde stress då en patient sviktade i sina vitala funktioner. Tjugotvå procent saknade kunskaper i bedömningen av medvetandegrad och neurologi. Sextioen procent svarade att de ibland kunde få hjälp av en läkare/läkarkollega med att göra en bedömning av patientens tillstånd.

During recent years the professional role of librarians has changed considerably. Development in the areas of information technology and the Internet has had a strong impact on libraries. Today?s visitors are in greater need of librarian support for information seeking and other services. This has led to a shift towards the development of a more complex pedagogical role for librarians.

The aim of this Master's thesis is to compare the 6th and the 7th editions of the classification scheme of the Swedish classification system (SAB) to reveal which principles are used concerning the development of this system during the period 1985-1997. Guiding questions are: What kind of changes has been conducted? How do these changes relate to development of other general classification schemes and to theories concerning revision work? The results of the analysis show that possibilities to use synthesis have increased by an extension of use of geographic and chronological subdivisions. The classification scheme has also been easier to use by elimination of parallel subdivisions and regularization of the scheme. To maintain stability revision is performed on selected subclasses.

Dyslexi innebär bestående ordavkodningssvårigheter som anses vara orsakade av nedsättning i fonologiska färdigheter. Till följd av dessa svårigheter har individer med dyslexi ett annorlunda ögonrörelsemönster vid läsning. Individer med dyslexi kan många gånger övervinna sina svårigheter och lyckas i den akademiska världen.Studiens övergipande syfte var att genom en multipel fallstudie undersöka ordavkodning och ögonrörelser hos fem universitetsstudenter med dyslexi. Ögonrörelserna mättes med en dator specialiserad för detta ändamål. En kontrollgrupp av normalläsare (n=20) fördes samman för jämförelse.I föreliggande studie var användning av ordavkodningstest och mätning av ögonrörelser den metodologiska inriktningen.Resultaten visar att alla de fem studenterna med dyslexi har nedsatt ordavkodning och till stor del ett annorlunda ögonrörelsemönster som varierade något dem emellan.

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the view on reading and reading promotion in the Culture of Reading (SOU 2012:65), based on three different approaches to reading and reading promotion; the pragmatic, the emancipatory and the traditionalistic. The thesis is based on the following questions; which view on reading can be seen in the Culture of Reading and which view on librarians? reading promotion can be seen in the Culture of Reading. To answer these questions, I am going to apply the aforementioned approaches on the Culture of Reading. The Culture of Reading is an official report from the Swedish government and parts of it will be subject to a qualitative content analysis.
