This essay is a case study on the Latin American regional integration project called ALBA.

Background: Operating on the stock market is associated with risks. If a particular asset is not traded with the same frequency as the average market asset, this particular asset is exposed to a liquidity risk. It means that the investor might not be able to sell the asset at a desired time without incurring expensive transaction costs. The query is whether or not the investor is compensated with a liquidity premium for bearing the extra risk. Earlier studies on the Stockholm Stock Exchange have failed to prove that there is a relation between stock return and liquidity.

Mankind faces a serious threat. Its activities, for example the burning of fossil fuels, have led to an enhancement of the greenhouse effect - something that has given rise to a global warming. The climate is becoming warmer, a change that has important effects on the nature as well as for humans and their society. Sea level rising, extreme temperatures are becoming more common, glaciers and other ice caps melt and storms becomes more intense when they appear. The main cause is the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere - carbon dioxide in particular.

Syfte: Undersökningens syftet är att mäta huruvida det går att få ut en överavkastning av aktier som väljs in i (respektive ut ur) OMX Stockholm Benchmark (OMXSB), som följd av att ett index ändrar sin komposition. Delsyftet är att undersöka om det går att se en signifikant ökning av handelsvolymen i anslutning till ändringsdagen.Metod: Studien tillämpar en eventstudie som undersökningsmetod av kvantitativ karaktär. Studien undersöker indexet OMXSB och innefattade totalt 111 stycken ingående och utgående aktier fördelat på 10 tillfällen. Två eventfönster har konstruerats; ett kring annonseringsdagen och ett kring ändringsdagen. Den procentuella handelsvolymen har mätts över eventfönstret kring ändringsdagen.Resultat: Den genomsnittliga kumulerade överavkastningen för eventfönstret vid annonseringsdagen uppgick till 1,02 % (-6 %) för de aktier som valdes in (ut).

Humans have inhabited mountainous areas in northern Sweden since the end of the last glacial period, ca 8000 B.P., and their presence has marked the landscape in various ways. Older traces include the remains of hearths and dwelling sites, but there are also remains, such as culturally modified trees (CMT's), resulting from more recent activities in forested areas. This study aimed to document how people, both indigenous Sami's and Swedish settlers, have used an area northwest of Ammarnäs in Västerbotten, during the last 300 years, and what traces their activities have left in the area. I used historical records as well as an inventory of CMT's in the area to address this aim. Historical records of Sami activity are meagre, but it is clear that the people of the Ran and Gran Sami villages utilized the area long before 1500 A.D.

Vid betongframställning förekommer det spridningar i delmaterialens egenskaper som påverkar den färskaoch hårdnande betongen. Spridningarna i betongens delmaterial har studerats hos tre av Skanskas betongfabriker(Göteborg, Luleå och Norrköping), genom provuttag som analyserats hos Cementa Research.Provuttag har gjorts en gång per månad under ett års tid från fabrikerna. Delmaterialen som har analyseratsär ballast, cement, flytmedel och kalkfiller (endast hos Göteborg och Norrköping). Siktning av ballast0-8 mm har utförts med den traditionella siktningen. För kornstorlekar mindre än 0,25 mm, cement samtkalkfiller har lasersiktning använts.För att få en överskådlig bild över spridningarna hos delmaterialen har en analys utförts som illusteraravvikelserna med exakta siffror.

The purpose of this paper is to survey the textile based proto-industrialism in Sweden in the middle of the 19th century. This case study is founded upon Anders Hansson?s pre-industrial textile production at the estate of Mölneby, Östra Frölunda in the rural district of Kind in the province of Västra Götaland.Account books from the year 1853 related to Anders Hansson?s wool fabric manufacturing have been looked into and categorized using a quantitative research method. The research has also been supplemented with a number of interviews.The result of the survey shows that Anders Hansson?s business activities fit into Mendel?s theory of proto-industrialists at a practice level.By collaborating with a merchant in Gothenburg the fabrics were traded in unknown markets, as well as in more familiar neighbouring districts.

The main purpose of this essay is to investigate if Latvia´s pattern of trade has become more similar to the mature market economies, after Latvia´s independence 1991.Today, the intra-industry trade (IIT) dominates the trade of mature market economies. One of the pioneers of intra-industrial trade is Paul Krugman, who was the first to emphasize the importance "of scale and consumers' desire for variety" in explaining the basis for modern commerce. Customers get more variety and usually cheaper goods when the market gets bigger. I mainly use the modern trade theories to explain the trade pattern in Latvia. To measure how Latvia has developed its intra-industry trade, and thereby is approaching the mature market economies´ trade pattern, I use the Grubel-Lloyd index (GL-index).

Den 1 januari 2005, startades det europeiska handelssystemet med utsläppsrätter. Handelssystemet avser att minskakoldioxidutsläppen inom Europa, för att fullfölja åtagandet i Kyotoprotokollet. I Sverige har flera sektorer påverkatsav handeln med utsläppsrätter bl.a. energisektorn, som står i fokus för denna studie.Syftet med uppsatsen är att studera hur de större och mindre energibolagen samt de ansvariga myndigheterna iSverige uppfattar systemet för handel med utsläppsrätter. För att uppfylla syftet formulerades ett antalfrågeställningar om hur energibolagen och myndigheterna ser på handelssystemets följande områden, fördelar ochnackdelar, implementering, tilldelningsprinciper, förbättringspotential, framtida utveckling, samt om det finns någralikheter och skillnader mellan energibolagen.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att för ett svenskt företags räkning analysera hur deras logistikstruktur för import av produkter från Kina till Sverige kan effektiviseras. Vi fick i uppdrag att analysera hur upprättandet av en eller flera hubbar och lager i Kina skulle påverka Företagets logistikstruktur ur ett ekonomiskt perspektiv. Företa-get kommer att vara anonymt i denna rapport på grund av konkurrensskäl och istället kallas för "Företaget".Vi utgår ifrån följande frågeställningar:Med hur mycket kan Företaget minska sin totala logistikkostnad för Företagets produkter från trading leverantörer genom att upprätta en eller flera hubbar i Kina? Hur mycket skulle logistikkostnaderna i Kina öka genom upprättandet av en eller flera hubbar? Med hur mycket kan Företaget minska sin lagerhållningskostnad i centrallag-ret i Tibro genom att upprätta en eller flera hubbar i Kina? Hur skulle de totala logistikkostnaderna påverkas om Företaget förlade delar av lagret i Kina? Rapporten är av undersökande karaktär där tyngdpunkten i rapporten ligger på hur nuläget ser ut genom insamlandet av data från både Företaget och dess leverantörer och samarbetspartners. Dessa data har analyserats med hjälp av en omfattande teori-del.I resultatet har två olika förbättringsalternativ tagits fram med olika karaktär.

The intention of this thesis is, from a basic statistical viewpoint, to capture the relationship between the price of electricity and a sample of factors influencing the price. The thesis also aims at investigating whether knowledge about the relationship is useful when investing on Nord Pool. Tested factors are temperature, import, price of emission rights as well as a number of hydrological factors. The investigated period stretches from year 2000 until week 32 year 2007. The relevance of each factor was also evaluated yearly as well as for shorter periods in order to get a more comprehensive view of the relationship.

This thesis project focuses on the need for better tools for analyzing competition for forest fuels in Sweden, in particular how policy measures may influence the market and involved actors in different regions of Sweden. Raw materials from the forest have for long constituted important inputs in the Swedish forest industry. Today some of these raw materials are increasingly used as inputs also in bioenergy production, largely driven by bioenergy promoting policies, and there are signs of increased competition for forest fuels which may have various and uncertain effects on the industries in question. The thesis project explores the possibilities to adapt previously used forest sector equilibrium models into a new model suitable for analysis of Swedish forest fuel markets, called the Swedish Forest Sector Trade Model (SFSTM). The approach takes into account regional differences in supply and demand for 23 types of products produced and/or used by eight types of producers, plus consumers, in five different regions (four Swedish and one international).
