Enligt realism svarar en stat olika mycket på ett hot eller attentat beroende på kraftfullheten eller följderna där ett attentat med stora följder som den i Norge skulle föra med sig betydligt fler förändringar i säkerhetsarbetet på Norska myndigheter än den i Stockholm skulle göra på Svenska myndigheter. The purpose of this paper is to investigate possible reasons Sweden might have had to motivate the start and end of its nuclear program during the Cold war. This investigation will be conducted using a qualitative research method and making a comparison between the theories realism and liberalism?s ability to explain the decisions. The question this paper is based upon is as follows: Can Sweden?s creating and shutting down of a nuclear weapons program during the Cold war be explained by the international events and actions that were taking place during this time period? The result consists of liberalism pointing out several failures on the international level that might explain the cynical decision from Sweden to create the nuclear weapons. Realism considers the decision to make perfect sense at this point in time, to protect Sweden on the anarchy that was going on at that time according to this theory.The ending of the nuclear weapons program is being explained largely by the rise of the MAD-concept which renders the acute need of nuclear weapons in Sweden void.  Liberalism on the other hand considers this a logic step due to the better established UN that is playing a larger role now than in the 1940s. In conclusion, realism does a better job explaining the start of the nuclear weapons program, while liberalism explains the end of it more efficiently. The contribution this thesis has to the research of political science can be seen mainly in three areas.

Den här rapporten undersöker hur människor med olika kulturell bakgrund uppfattar kulturella konnotationer i dokumentärfotografier. Området studien avser att studera är delstaten New Mexico i USA. Rapporten inleder med att definiera den dokumentärfotografiska utveckling av landskapet som skett i delstaten.

Denna rapport undersöker om olika gestaltningar av rumsklang ger högre gradperceptuellt realism med en visuell referens. Undersökningen baseras på denforskning inom rumsklang och perception av dessa som skett tidigare. I dessa fall utanen visuell referens. I detta fall undersöks gestaltningen som ges av konvolutionsreverb,fördröjningsnätsreverb och en kombination av dessa. För att undersöka detta skapadestre videoklipp med samma bild och samma ljudeffekter med skillnad i denreverbteknik som användes.

En simulator är kostnadseffektiv och utsätter inte eleven för de risker som är förknippat med flygning och kan helt eller delvis ersätta utbildning på verkliga flygplan. Hur mycket flygtid som en simulatorutbildning kan ersätta är beroende av simulatorns realism. Syftet med studien var att fördjupa sig i simulering som utbildningsverktyg samt kartlägga användandet av flygsimulatorer vid flygskolor och simulatorinstruktörernas uppfattning om realism i simuleringen. Med kartläggningen kan man bilda sig en uppfattning hur utveckling i informatik i form av förbättrad realism och val av lämplig nivå av realism har bidragit till dagens pilotutbildning i Sverige.

The thesis examined whether there is a distinct boundary between art and advertising. The collected data showed how art and advertising are linked to each other and also differ from each other, in particular through the latter half of the 1900?s. What was happening in society came to have great impact on what happened in art and advertising. In postwar Germany, capitalism realism evolved from the German pop art where the art was removed from the art gallery and placed on the streets where the people were, in an era that was characterized by a gap between the rich and the poor.

Driving simulators are a very important part of the research that is done at VTI. Enhancing the realism and creating a better driving experience in the simulators are very important and an ongoing work process for the engineers and researchers who work with the simulators. This thesis explores the conditions of painting artists in the former GDR. The conclusion after studying rather many artists excepted paintings is, that they had a very personal style within the figuration, considering the official prescription of Social realism. The main objective for the study is common motives and changes over time. It showed a development against greater freedom in expression. A closer analyse of one painter´s work (Susanne Kandt-Horn) and of the exhibitions in Rostock Art Museum during the 80´s illustrates the circumstances under which the artists lived..

In the ever increasing media clutter it is hard for marketers to make their products stand out. New ways of reaching consumers are constantly arising. This study seeks to further investigate the phenomenon known as product placement, delimited to movies/television. By conducting an experiment we tested whether different presumptions matters for what effect a product placement will have on attitude and if these could be affected. We also looked at if the level of product integration effect attitude and realism enhancement.
